I found a couple of these chairs for a great deal at a garage sale this summer, reason being the paint is chipping like crazy! My chairs don't resemble yours at all but I hope they will when I get done restoring them. Just made a stop at True Value, they always have the right tools and expert, local advice.
We cut the cedar on our family farm so it was free but it cost about $.50 a board foot to have it sawed. If you were to buy the cedar at retail I would estimate about $2 a board foot or a total of $30-40 total.
