pffff... I love she's the woman and big trouble as they are on the zero demos, by comparison the new versions are just flat and have no energy - Eddie's tone is just an overly distorted mess and the bass sounds like flatulence. I've been looking forward to this album for years but now I've heard a few tracks I'm thinking that maybe some things are best left in the past :/

So Spammy said VH are not fan friendly?!! WRONG! His silence is deafening!!!!!! I'm so glad EVH didn't introduce/allow Spammy to sing on these classics. Big relief he kept all his golden child's of material under locked & keyed in 5150 studio vaults!! To think of it if Spammy had first go at these songs on the soon to be released new VH album makes me want to vomit all over someone else!!! VAN HALEN IS BACK and there's nothing Spammy or Chickenfat can do about it!!!!

@Champane97 When you say "fan friendly", do you mean as in not being dicks to their fans? If so, I would agree. People like to say Eddie's an asshole and all of that, but he seems like a really cool character to me. If there is one band out that that isn't very fan friendly in that sense, it's definitely RUSH. At least VH are offering kickass VIP packages for this tour at a low cost. RUSH avoids their fans like their some sort of cancer. They say their fans embarrass them. WTF?

@1325ACO Not a RUSH fan but if thats what they think of their fans then thats sad. I agree with your comment about EVH, he has a good heart & always means well, but what some fans & critics fail to understand about EVH is the scrutiny he's been under since he destroyed the limitations & revolutionised the guitar! I remember all the experts, critics & even EVH's peers would state that "no one will ever change the guitar like Hendrix did". Well in less that 9 years KING EVH destroyed that theory!

@Champane97 Yeah, I know just what you mean. It's a shame that just because Eddie is an innovator by nature that there are big-headed guitarists and critics who want to "challenge" him, if you want to call it that. It's like they wait for him to make something that's bad just so they can be like, "See. He ain't that great after all" which is bullshit. Music shouldn't be a competition, and others shouldn't feel "threatened" by Eddie's abilities. I support Ed and VH all the way.

@1325ACO Amen!! King EVH once said "Music is not a competition, its for pure enjoyment! Leave the competition to sports". Now that makes perfect sense, unlike what Spammy's latest VH bashing is all about. SH's been trying to bait VH into a public sparring match since 96'. Its getting pretty cheap & low by anyones standards now. He's even daring to match up every member against one another?! EVH vs Joe, DLR vs Spam, MA vs Wolfie & the pathetic Chad & Kenny vs AVH?!! @Champane97 Geez. Spammy needs to grow up. Especially if he's trying to get Michael and Wolf into a duel. I read an interview with Michael in 2007 and he said he wanted the fans to realize that Wolf is innocent. He basically wanted to put the word out that he didn't want anyone bashing Wolf. Michael has always impressed me as a good sport who performed for the love of the game. I read something once that they were actually wanting Mike out of the band since 1980. Is that true?

@Champane97 And I don't even consider Chad Smith to be an influential drummer by any means. Alex is one of the greats and I see people say things like, "He's okay", or "Good, but not great" it makes me wonder if these people know what a great drummer is. Just to be able to create a drum sound that's as highly recognizeable as his is an amazing feat in itself. But watching him play, he's just so loose and genuinely having fun with it. I think he's better thaen Peart. And who's Kenny?

He has achieved much like his little bro what was impossible in the drumming world of creating a signature sound & style that is instantly recognisable. But it seems these days calling someone an influential, greatest or superstar is given way to easy. AVH is & always been the real deal, he's the KING!!!!!!

@Champane97 I met a dude who works at a local music store who got to meet Eddie. He went to California to pick up one of those "Frankenstrats" for the store, and Ed was there. He said he was a really fun dude who was having a great time talking about guitars and telling VH stories with everyone. I've heard great things about him and Alex. As for RUSH, Neil Peart is the one who has the worst attitude about fans. He's known to curse at fans for seeing him in public n saying hi to him
