  • What about Lana Clarkson? She was great!

  • 2003 was a hard year :( Gregory Peck,Katherine Hepburn,Johnny Cash,John Ritter. Goodness,seeing John Ritter still hurts he was a great man.

  • Man, 2003 was a bad year! Many of the greats died then.

  • Johnny Cash was someone we cannot do without now. Especially with all the new artists nowadays , especially one who will not be named , for singing with a high pitch for a boy. 16 yrs of age.

  • I noticed alot of celebs I know died this year. Sad year.

  • Oh my god, the way they did Kate, with the little goodbye salute, literally has me in tears.

  • I love that song for a tribute to the deceased. I don't particularly like the really loud rock songs they play when profiling the deceased stars. As far as I am concerned, it isn't right or fitting to do that.

  • Хэпберн, лучшая

  • Kate :'(

I miss her so much. I hope she's fine up there with Spencer

    xox

  • We lost so many talented actors, actress, directors in 2003

  • When i saw gregory pecks name show up on the screen, i cried...

  • @xxxSelenagomezfanxx : Selena, why would ANYONE cry over a former truck driver? You certainly wouldn't if he had stayed one. Peck specialized in playing EDUCATED Americans in movies. In real life, he came from a blue-collared, semi-illiterate, terribly uneducated background. In other words: lower class rabble! But he got some sort of education which was the only way out for him. RIP, though. (31-12-2010).

  • @squirell1952 no seriously. what the fuck is wrong with you?

  • RIP John Ritter, Johnny Cash, and Bob Hope.

  • Beautifully done.

  • Beautiful Tribute !

  • What is the very last clip with the mirror falling from?

  • @LLWesMan Liion In Winter...possibly her best performance, certainly her most deserved oscar

  • Wow, 2003 sucked.

  • Gregory Peck, a great acor a great man a great looking too, i wasnt even eight years old when he died, i never had the chance to say to him 'mr peck, your one helluva a guy and still my teenage crush'

  • what movie is at :54?

  • @tabitwin Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid

  • so morbid and yet so beautiful.

    ♥♥Johnny Cash & Gregory Peck♥♥ (and others...)

  • Beautiful

  • This was beautiful! And thanks for showing a clip from THE MECHANIC...My all time fav. Bronson movie. This was done FAR better then the OSCARS

  • Art Carney........ we miss You Norton

  • And N!xau (The Gods Must Be Crazy)? He was forgotten...

  • Was this from an awards ceremony? I know it wasn't the Oscars because they started off with Gregory Peck....

  • they should have given Donald O'connor a better Singin' in the Rain clip---like him singing and dancing magnificently with Kelly and Reynolds.

  • @andeaver1937 like 'Make 'em Laugh'

  • Jack Elam!

    RIP

  • God rest all of them. They gave us all many hours of hapynes.

  • dear John Ritter, Katharine Hepburn, Charles Bronson RIP

  • Comment removed

  • RIP Gregory Peck and Katherine Hephburn

  • Yes!:'(

  • I have never seen Martha Scott look so beautiful than she does here.

  • RIP Bob Hope (1903-2003), one of two Hollywood legends that made it to 100. The other was George Burns (1896-1996).

  • bob hope was a GREAT AMERICA HE DID A LOT FOR THE TROOPS SO I THINK HE WAS ONE OF THE BIGGEST LOSTESE IN 03 if not the biggest

  • Jonathan Brandis dead too young, he was 27 years old that's a pity

  • Jonathan Brandis died that year as well.

  • Good to see Hope Lange included in this one! What a rough year 2003 was - we lost so many great ones!

  • Audrey Hepburn shared a last name with Katharine Hepburn but they weren't related.

  • And the fact that her real last name was Ruston.

  • What film was that shot of Donald O'Connor from cause I'm not exactly sure.

  • Its from early in Singing in the Rain...either before or after the premiere....my only complaint is that not showing Donald O'Connor dancing is kind of a waste

  • yeahi know what you mean. they should have given him a longer clip.

oh and btw, that clip is from before the first movie premiere where gene kelly gets a huge ovation and nobody knows who he is..

  • plssssssssss!!! wats the title of the song:< i want it its nice:<

  • "I Will Remember You" by Sarah McLachlan.

  • Happy 102nd Birthday, Kate!

The world will never forget you.

    You're immortal.

    Kate <3

  • Oh how beautiful! Kate was the greatest!

  • Saving the best for last...

  • The best two for last! Hehe :)

  • and the famous quote HELLO MY NAME IS JOHNNY CASH he is in the middle

  • Oi Veh. so very very well deserved a beautifuly pressented memorial to The

    Realy TALLENTED STARS, the pioneers

of a media so often badly portrayed today

    maxthevid

  • Beautifully done

  • wow that was a rough year... some of the greatest were lost in one fell swoop

  • Wow. Basicly all people have been remembered. :D

  • TCM's tributes are way better than the Oscar ones! I noticed that in another version of this tribute on youtube the part with Hope Lange is totally cut out! So glad to see her included in this one! We lost so many great ones that year.

  • I love this TCM tribute. So well done. As someone else said, more time given on each individual talent than the Oscars usually present. Thank you for sharing.

  • This looks like it's from TCM. The Oscars never take so much time or remember so many people. I remember this year, they actually did a separate tribute to Kate Hepburn. This one is very complete. I think the only one they missed is Jonathan Brandis (but just about everyone forgot him). :(

  • Life is too short...

  • Very Sad, but well done.

  • Thank you. A beautiful tribute.

  • UMmm bye!! :D

    xxx naughty xxx bS

  • omg evry time hepburn comes up @the end it makes me want 2 cry.on the whole tho wot a list. it seems like old hollywood finally ended in 2003.But my god wot alegacy. nowadays u jus hav 2 slip in a DVD and there they all r the likes of:vivien leigh, cary grant, marilyn monroe, james dean, judy garland, marlene dietrich, clark gable, montgomery clift, fred astaire, jimmy stuart and the late gr8 Katherine Hepburn in all their dazzling b/w an 'technicolor' glory as if they havnt left us and neva will.

  • Ended with the greatest ever...

  • TCM also omitted Michael Jeter (who died too young).

So many actors died in 2003.

  • too true. jeter was a real talent.

  • Looking through this memorial, I think TCM did a fantastic job paying tribute to one of the darkest years of Hollywood in terms of celebrity deaths.

With that said, i'm disappointed that TCM left out two actors (both of whom died prematurely): child and teen actor Jonathan Brandis and superlative cinema actor Alan Bates.

  • this wasn't TCM was it??

didn't they have this in the memorials at the 2004 oscars??

  • katharine hepburn's death was the saddest

    R.I.P

  • The saddest? She was probably the most well known, but the lady was in her 90s and led a good, full life.

    Jonathan Brandis was 27.

  • omg, how sad, many greats gone, but not forgotten

  • Play-acting is more than pretending.

  • 2003 was one of the darker years for America. We were still experiencing the lingering effects of a recession. We went to war with Iraq. And the year marked the passing of so many notable celebrities, among them: Katherine Hepburn Bob Hope Gregory Peck Charles Bronson John Ritter Johnny Cash Richard Crenna Hume Cronyn Barry White Gregory hines Celia Cruz
  • That was really nice.

  • Bob Hope, Katharine Hepburn, Gregory Peck, such a loss!

  • True, but they lived full lives. Hepburn was 96, Peck 87 and Hope was a whopping 100.Talented Gregory Hines was only 57 and actor David Hemmings was only 60, and John Ritter was 54. Very sad because they should still be here.

  • That was Really nice

    :)

    great JOB !!

  • no one can replace all the good old acters may all of them rest in peace

  • gregory peck is the best

  • (sniff)Gregory Peck.....I wish I could have met him.

  • Such a poignant video,so sad that these wonderful people have left us.

  • This Was On At The 2003 Oscars Wasn't It?

  • This is a Turner Classic Movies Tribute.

  • It Was On At The Oscars!

    I Watched It.

    In The Momoriam Section,,

  • No you didn't. The Oscar's did a different recognition for Kate Hepburn and Gregory Peck. They also didn't recognize nearly as many people. TCM always seems to do a better job.

  • Extremely well done

  • maybe it was, but it was definatley on at the 2004 oscars,

i know i said '03 before but now ive realised because i was 12 not 11.

    i remember watching it..

  • maybe it is but it was on at the 2004 oscars, sorry not the 2003 ones..

    i remember watching it,

still saddens me now.. no more katharine hepburn :(

  • Wow!

    I Love Katharine Hepburn

    True Hollywood Legend..

She Was About 96 When She Died Wasn't She So She Had A V.Good Life Fron 1907 - 2003... :)

  • This is sweet..

I love you Donald O'Connor and will never forget you! (just in case he's browsing on YouTube in heaven) ;)

  • Can someone please identify the movie where Katharine Hepburn does the salute? She's looks so cute doing it!

  • I think it may have been "Woman of the Year"

(but don't hold me to it!)

  • Very Well Done!! Much respect shown, Thank You!

As Bob Hope would say, "Thanks for the memories"

It's amazing how much I miss some of these people, and I have never met them. A lot of talent that is going to be missed.

  • i was good, until you put in Katharine saying, "Kiss me goodbye". then I lost it. such wonderful talent, I can't believe that it has been 5 years. I can still remember where I was when I heard about Kate and Gregory passing on.

    great editing. wonderful job.

  • Very well done..thank you. :)

  • Kate, the Queen!

  • Bravo! Well done!

    Lovely editing, timing, everything!

    Jeannemarie : )

  • Whats The Song Called Thats Played In The Background?

I'm A 15 Year Old Boy And Just Came Looking On Here For Katherine Hepburn Stuff For My English Homework & Watching That & With That Song And Seeing Katherine Hepburn At The End Brought Tears To My Eyes! :( Aww & I Know Audrey Hepburn Died 14Days After I Was Born :( XXXX RIP KATE & AUDREY OX

  • that was beaautiful

  • God, that's SAD!! Love Kate Hepburn...

  • Beautiful video, beautiful song. Lots of my favorites passed away that year miss them all, mostly Robert Stack.

  • That's wonderful! Just the rigth stuff for me!

I am a great fan of Greg Peck and Kate Hepburn....

  • Beautiful video, I love David Hemmings

  • Donald O'Connor, Johnny Cash :(

  • Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. Saddened by the loss of the beloved Hollywood celebrities of 2003. RIP especially to Gregory Peck and Katherine Hepburn. They are angels forever.

  • Wow...that really WAS a horrible year. I thought at least three of these people were still alive.

Speaking of Hepburns, do you have any tributes to Audrey, by chance?

  • I will have to do one, I haven't posted much lately. Lot's of catching up to do. Can you believe Audrey has been gone now for 15 years?

  • No, I can't. I ADORED her. She seemed invincible like Kate, too: someone who would live a very long life. I'm still in shock!

  • i cried

  • 2003 was one of the worst years ever for celebrity deaths!
