@trainwatcher17 In 2008, there were mud slides blocking the tracks so the starlight only ran from LA to sacramento. This is a video of one of those trains.

Back in Early 2008 there was Mudslides back in Oregon, along the Union Pacific route. The line used by the Coast Starlight, too.

It was a HUGE mess, so they ran a "short" version of it from LA-Sacramento with Bus service from Sacramento to Seattle.

So the user here called it the "Mini Light"

Just love these Genesis units. You can have your ICE trains and Thalys high speed units, these are American sized and nothing sounds quite like 'em. On the Empire Builder it's shocking how fast they pull out of a station. Great K5la.
