Big F***-ing deal! One verse that is ambiguous shows how great the Koran is? Give me a break. The phrase is wishy washy if you actually read it and doesn't say anything concrete. This provides enough science to sound credible, but it obviously just a promotion for Islam. This video is a thinly guised endorsement. No matter how you show it, this video and its series still stinks since its all crap.
Religion should not be couched in science. People of 2,000 years ago knew embyros were attached to the uterus, and that it took semen injected into a woman to create another human. So the inference of Quran fore-knowledge is faulty.
The narrator pronounces zygote (z + eye + goat) as ziggot.
AND - science started having a good idea about the power of genetics about the time of Darwin, Huxley and Mendel.
People of the day must have know that during male ejaculation that the drop poured only caused pregnancy in females only when poured forth and ejaculated into only the vagina and never did a preganacy occure if poured forth into any male or female orifice of any animal. The simple deduction from this obvious observation is it is the male fluid that causes pregancy. With out it or if it is not properly placed pregnancy will definitley not occur.
a skeptic may argue the translation of "a drop as it is poured forth" into " a drop of sperm as it is poured forth" People of the era must have known how reporduction in plants and animals occured; and that human reproduction occurs in similar manner. It does not say which pair, male or female from which the drop is poured forth. We now know it is from the male. This science lesson is nicely done. I would like to use it in my class; however, because its also a religous lesson, I can't.
you are forgetting one thing that people of that era did not know about the sex of fruits and plants.... but the quran mentions that as well. read QURAN 20:53 and QURAN (13:3) an QURAN 36:36
QURAN (13:3) And it is He who spread out the earth, and set thereon mountains standing firm and (flowing) rivers: and fruit of every kind He made in pairs, two and two: He draweth the night as a veil o'er the Day. Behold, verily in these things there are signs for those who consider!
