Still hoping to see some of this one day.... what I've seen I really like. And as for the 'friends-esque' theme on this video, I kinda like it and am guessing that was the intention - make it a schmaltzy spoofy trailer of the series. In that respect, it hits the mark for me.
seen the pilot not long ago with the director andrew dymond, and its a awsome series, great to have the chance ot meet the guy and see the series and some of the props at age 15....cant wait to see it all
I don't think I could put up with that god awful song every time the show comes on.
I love British humor and I like Science Fiction... There was a series during the 70's called Quark. It went down the drain fast, those two genres seem to not mix well for a series. Perhaps in a movie, but not for TV.
So...What's the news on this, has it aired in the UK yet?
Can't wait to see the pilot. There hasn't been a worthy sci-fi comedy in ages. Unfortunately I doubt I'll be seeing much of it as I live in New York :(
I've seen the full first episode at CULT TV and, take it from me, it is AWESOME. This baby is going to blow Red Dwarf out of the water. British Comedy Sci FI is alive and ready to kick some serious gluteous maximus - and these are the guys that are going to do it.
I like the cast, the song, and the animations. What I don't like is Gandalf. What the heck is he doing in a sci-fi series! I'm sick of seeing LotR in everything else - please keep it out of Starhyke!
I had to come and put in a comment having watched this trailer and the premiere over the weekend I have to say the trailer is cool and the premiere is better - but too short and now as it's still not been taken up by anyone I'll have to wait for ages before seeing anymore.
There's a big gap in british Tv where Red Dwarf isn't. There's not doubt that this is still a little bit 'work in progress' but the potential is huge. New take on the future, disaster for the Human Race but hey, lets have a crack on the way out!. I love it. I want more but I want more polish too! when can we see the whole thing?
I agree that people should decide for themselves..I'm glad you like it.Personally I have been aware of this project for a while and it doesn't look much to me.Sorry.
Maybe you got impatient waiting. People are too much the armchair critic nowadays. We have been spoilt by megga movies and blockbusters. Lets get back to dialogue and insinuendo..
People are too eager to destroy before seeing a whole Pilot. A long time in the making, and we all know the longer it takes to bake the bread, the more tasty! Great stuff guys!
Then people should give it a taste and then decide! We all know how hard it is for a relatively new British Company to get noticed. Give them a break? Go to their website, read what they have to say watch their video's and then decide - for yourself!
Interesting that you should still watch it, then - and having bothered to waste your time watching it, actually bothered to post a comment as well...just a thought.
Firstly, all praise to anyone who gets a new show off the ground, but... One *good* joke would impress me more than any number of dodgy "musical" trailers, no matter how good the visuals or attractive the cast. It's looking decidedly iffy from the comedy perspective, guys...
We will be releasing an official 10 minute trailer in November at Memorabilia (Birmingham NEC)and will put this on the Internet in December. The trailer will be cut from full scenes and will include dialogue and FX. Starhyke has loads of comedy moments, visual gags and jokes. We only had footage without the sound files to work with for the current trailers, which is why they were cut to the theme tune and don't have any dialogue. It is NOT because we don't have any jokes!
I hope this gets picked up and allowed to run so that we can get to know the characters. In these fickle times, so many promising shows are snuffed out too early. Oh - and lose the song, please.
Ehhh. Don't get me wrong, I'd like to see another successful British sf-comedy, but what you've basically got here is a comedy that doesn't want to show you any of its jokes.
Looks really good. The music doesn't sound right to me, though. Seems like it would fit some Friends-clone show. Otherwise, impressive stuff! Nice CGI, too.
4 years later still no sign are they millionaires yet?

I have 2 suggestions.
1 - change the god-awful theme to something less cheesy and friends like
2 - release the full pilot on youtube. Go on, what is there to lose?

This has yet to be picked up by a TV channel 2 years after they finished making it. Ask yourself why. The trailer answers. One word: abysmal.

Around 5 or 6 years should be long enough to wait really.. Heard it's due out in early 2007.

If this was actually funny, we'd be seeing some jokes.
