  • Good video! One piece of advice: get a better grip. I had that same forward grip and after shooting 2 clips, I couldn't even hold it anymore! If you shoot slowly, it's not that bad, but for tactical shooting, definetly look for a better grip!

  • Great explanation. Thought I was in hot water with installing my new grips... till I found this. Thank you sir!

  • @Lagesseable your very welcome! Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment.

  • @chanderson1 Great video. I have the same foregrip, I took it off but when I put it back on the gas tube cants upward and my gas piston will not operate at all.

  • Thanks

  • Thank You, finally a video that doesn't apply to stupid airsoft ak's

  • @MrTocsik LOL, thanks for taking the time to watch and comment.

  • fantastic vid. Worked with my WASR 10 just fine.

  • I have an AK-47 built on an Nodak Spud NDS-3 Receiver. Can I apply this process to it?

  • @BlargeMan It should be very similar. Double check that you dont need to punch out some pins in the top handgaurd before twisting it off.

  • @chanderson1 I just did it, it came off and went back on fine, I just can't seem to figure out how to take off the bottom one.

  • @BlargeMan you'll need to remove the front plate that's holding the lower portion of the grip. You need to look for a lever that is similar to the one used to remove the gas tube. This will allow the front plate to slide forward allowing you to remove the lower part of the front grip.

  • Can this process be applied to a chinese ak? Great vid btw.

  • @ukwarrior89 I think its a very similar process for the chinese variants

  • thanks for posting this it just what i needed.

  • Super informative thanks.

  • @downriverfirepower Appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment. Glad it helped you out.

  • No heat shields? Are they not need with this design you feel?

    Thanks again......

  • how do you get the wood off of gas tube ?????? i have a romanian im try to put a 4 rail on it but not sure how to get the wood off the gas tube

  • @skylinedrake you basically follow the same instructions. The top wood grip needs to be rotated 180 degrees to be removed.

  • Hi,ThanksGreat vid--- Is That a Tapco Folder, Are They Any Good,I wanted To Get One,But I Keep Hearing Bad Things ,Also, Do you Have a vid About Installing A Folding Stock ?? Thanks Again

  • @tdawgee Hi, it was my experience that the folding stock from Tapco was not very solid and had a little wobble. I dont know if that was just on my gun or it is common, but it happened to me. Sorry I dont have a video of the stock installation because its really simple and requires you to remove and install two screws.

  • Very helpful. thanks for taking the time to put this up!

  • Man, thanks so much, I've been trying to figure this out for months. I didn't know the first latch comes up and now down. Hahaha. Oh well, new furniture here I come!

  • @levinsmith Great man! no problem and glad the video helped out.

  • should i buy a foregrip? ive heard yes and know, i think it would be a bit more confertable but my buddy says to just hold the mag and keem the hand near the mag wield, he says fore grips make you aim down a bit and you want to get your hands closer anyway, im an amature and you probibly are not so an expert opinion would really help me out

  • thanks man that helped alot....

  • Dude it's so hard getting this on my WASR 10-63 I gave up for now. The gas tube lever does not come down. Did anyone else have this issue? If so what was the remedy?

  • i wish to say thank you for your video i have an ak74 and froegrips r the same as a ak47. so thatn you for your help..

  • @davidiskool18 Your welcome. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment.

  • @Magus636 Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment!

  • Thanks for this! I have the same Tapco handguards.

  • @Noob2Tube

Ditto for me on my Inter Ordinance. Good video, very helpful.

  • Thanks for tha vid very helpful. I have a norinco i couldnt take tha fourgrip off ! Thanks to you i know how now !!! Where can i purchase a after market grip?

  • @chakodewatts Hi, glad the video helped out. I think I bought this set from Botach Tactical online.

  • my ak looks nothing like that. Not sure what kind it is. Any help?

  • Thank you so much. I bought a Kalashnikov licensed and trademarked $250 Ak47 AIMS (romanian style) airsoft gun, and I was surprised to see that this is EXACTLY how to disassemble it even on a airsoft gun.

  • I just bought a draco and I was totally wondering how to do this. Thank you so much.

  • @Mrpracticaltactical your welcome and I'm glad the video helped out. There may be slight differences due the the variants of AKs out there, but I think the basics are all covered. Appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment!

  • @chanderson1 It all came apart easily enough, however the front lower guard bracket needed to be pursuaded to move foward with a rubber mallet and plastic piece. Your plier trick to move the retaining tabs is brilliant and really helped to limit marking and damage to the levers. I had a yugo sks I loved, until that lever became loose and would cause the gas system to malfunction. Thanks again.

  • @Mrpracticaltactical good point on the lower gaurd bracket. I initially had a difficult time to remove the original also. thanks for the tip. appreciate the time you took to watch and comment!

  • Midway USA sells the cleaning rods for $9.99 plus shipping.

  • @chanderson1 hey man i been lookin forever for a cleaning rod for my ak it didnt come with one where do you recommend to get one at and are they hard to put in i mean would i have to remove everything you just did in this vid to install it? i have the same ak as you with the same stock and the same handle and i put a recoil buffer in as well just always wanted one of those cleaning rods cuz the one i been using isnt really made for an ak plus the cleaning rod def helps the looks out imo thanks

  • @unleasheth its going to be difficult just to find a cleaning rod itself. I am sorry but I have no resources to be able to locate one for you. I would recommend a gun show that is probably your best bet to find just the cleaning rod for the rifle. As for install, its very simple. I am not sure though if there are different lengths for certain variants of the AK, but I would do some research before buying. Sorry I couldnt help you any further. Good luck and keep me posted on your search.

  • Very nice. I wish I would of watched this before I did mine. I finally exceded but it was not as easy as you showed. By the way I have that S.O.G. multi-tool also. It is a really nice tool and knife, it has allot of guts to it, very strong. Keep the videos coming. Thanks

  • @skyym3 Thanks man! Glad you liked the video and thanks for the comment!

  • Thank you

  • @mindmirrormaze Thanks for taking the time to watch.

  • you got litteraly the same ak i got. i like the plastic mags

  • i wish i would have watched this video before i finally figured out how to remove the upper hanguard...after like an hour hah

  • Thanks for the video,I haven't seen any others that show how to do this.

  • @CHARGERDON55 Glad you liked the vid and thanks for taking the time to watch.

  • Excellent video. Thank you for taking the time to show us how this all ties together.

    Art

  • @ravendrool Not a problem. Glad you liked the video and thanks for watching.

  • Thank you so much, I couldn't figure out how to get the bottom fore grip off. I'm going to get a quad rail for my wasr and deck it out.

  • @BHarris25 Your welcome. I'm glad the video helped out.

  • Anybody, is a folding stock on a AK 47 legal in the state of Washington? Thanks.

  • cool, just the video i was looking for :) this all goes the same for my AK-74

  • @aaronhume Great man! Hope it helped out.

  • can you but a lil bit of lube on the gas tube lever to help the stiffness? or u think that would cause it to be too lose? holla at me maaaaaan!!!

  • How do you like that hand gaurd? I just shot my AK for the first time today, and it has these standard looking synthetic grips, and after firing about 50-60 rounds, my hand was getting burned, because the hand gaurd was so hot, is that a problem with those galil style grips?

  • Those handgaurds are the only thing I liked about my Tapco set hahaha. The are very sturdy except for the plate on top. I wish they would have designed it a little better. It works great and ventilates the weapon well, but that plate on top seems a little flimsy to me.

  • Ok, so I'm gonna get the Galil style hand gaurd for mine. I usually use the magazine as a front vertical grip anyway.

  • Try the Tapco Intrafuse handguard grip. It has a heat shield on it that make is quite a bit cooler.

  • just bought the ati stock and really like it..

  • Great, hope that is nice and solid for you.

  • actually having problems puting it on

  • how about those ultimak fore grip rails?...do they install in the same way?

  • I'm not sure, but the procedure should be very similar.

  • I have 6 handguards for my Saiga 7.62 conversion, and the Tapco Galil style is the only one I use anymore. It's the most comfortable, imo. Good taste, man!

  • Yes I agree with you. I like the look and feel of the Galil style handgaurd. I just didnt care for the folding stock too much. It was not stable and didnt feel too rigid. Thanks for the comment!

  • Is that an ACE stock?

  • Nope, its a TAPCO stock set. I like the foregrip, but not the folding stock.

  • Hay do u know where i could find nice wood stock and grips

  • dude awesome video! waty da go man and thank you this will be a breeze now.

  • thanks man, let me know if you get hung up on something. I'm not a pro at this, but I'll try and help out. I cant wait to see it. Take care.
