It's a shame that the PGA had to react the way they did to Moe's style. Imagine how much more popular golf could have been if he kept playing in the PGA.
His swing is obviously not text book but I can see how it could work. He seems to have removed any variable which may risk his swing going off kilter.
@Ligerpride whats textbook is what the media says is textbook. every golfer must take their own swing and stop worrying abbout fix it. things go wrong then u want to fix some more. just play target golf. forget about compensating for the ball.
@4JRimmer I wouldn't call him "disabled", he seems pretty able :P. But yeah, he just had confidence. And for good reason. To this day nobody's gone 7 years without missing a fairway. Or anyone else ever for that matter.
@4JRimmer@rThornbird1892 He was neither 'arrogant' or 'disabled'. He possessed, however, 'complete clarity' about who he was and what he could do. An utter blessing, yes? ;)
@1961steelhead absolutely, I angle my shoulders up and let my wrists un cock before my arms get to the ball. I practice a lot, blading is not an issue. 60 degrees is not going to get your ball over an obstruction right in front of you. you must not be very good if you think a flop shot is only utilizing a 60 degree club head.
Try opening the blade and forget the flip move. I don't hit my ball into elevator shafts so no I haven't had to raise to your level of golf mastery. I'm a ten and that's it. Your flop method would get me to a thirteen real fast.
i like how moe keeps saying "the only golfer living that...." if hogan was living at the time he couldnt say it...... Moe use to carry a pocket book that had ben hogans swing sequence in it.
Props to LeftofMoe for letting me know and thanks maxxsee for posting!
Do you think it helps to play golf from your non-dominant side?
I'm right handed but play golf left handed, so my right hand has always been doing most of the work, leading the club. I wonder if it's harder if you are right handed and play right handed. 90% of golfers are righties, surely someone has an opinon on this?
@TheBusiness55 you can do anything you like with the club, just depends on your strengths/weaknesses. you can either pull, push, or rotate the club. they all work fine. whichever works best for you, you gotta find out.
these videos are full of gold. I've had the good fortune to get lessons from Greg Lavern and what he's taught me, what he got from Moe, is here in these videos. Awesome! Thanks for posting.
This is gonna totally screw up my golf swing

ok he can hit a flop shot, first thing he does in part 3, lol.
18greens18fairways 1 year ago
My guess is he can't hit a flop shot. You need to add loft to the club and that is not done with lag.
18greens18fairways 1 year ago
@18greens18fairways
At loft with a flop shot and they will call you Mr. Blade.
It's 60 degrees and you add loft?

i don't believe this crap ho hit to the finish
the act of swinging the golf club is almost a lost art. it's pretty sad. everyone just wants to smack the face of the club onto the ball.
