@262728Danny1 AVG is free also, but has since been beaten out by Avast in detection rates - I try not to recommend it anymore (this video is 8 months old) :P
@sarcasm2182 AVG has since been beaten by Avast! Home edition, you can get it from my website in the downloads section. Uninstall AVG, install Avast and run a full scan. You should also download Malwarebyte Anti-malware and run a full scan. Have you gone through my Faster Vista / XP series yet?
hey, I've got AVG Free and I've also got Spybot and SpywareDoctor. I do Many scans Daily with them and AVG Free is the only one that tells me i have to Trojan viruses on my computer! I Try Removing them with AVG Free but it keeps telling me that "the action was interrupted by user" I'm wondering if this is because i have Vista and vista is always asking you for Administrative Permission before doing something like this. And well i don't get asked for administrative permission. Please help!
This is associated with a permissions issue like you had said. If you have multiple users on your computer you will need to try to log in as your other users and run a full scan - that's one way to fix it. You can also try to right click on the avg free shortcut and click "run as administrator" - but this may not work, you still may need to be logged in as the other user. Let me know how it works out.
well ive tried that and there is no administrative option, Also there aren't any other users on my computer. =/ i have no idea why it wont let me delete the trojans.
That's odd if AVG Free will not install - you may want to check their homepage (I have it installed on my Windows 7 RC at home). On my homepage there are three recommended free antiviruses: Avast!, AVG Free and Avira AntiVir - you can always try Avira.
Jpod, I will be going over a couple pieces of software that will help you out with that that are free as well. On episode 2 I discussed NOD32, which in my opinion is one of the best in the market but you have to pay for it. You can always download the 30 day trial which I do for people from time to time who need more removed. Just make sure you uninstall AVG free, install NOD32, run an in depth scan then uninstall NOD32 and reinstall AVG. You should never have two antiviruses installed.
I will be doing a Q&A video on this as well. The main reason is resident scanners (real-time scanners) are installed with all modern day anti-viruses and the issue is they will both try to do real time scanning at the same time. This typically results in hang-ups. Also, anti-virus software tends to be process and RAM intensive software. It's best to have one good piece of software and keep the install file for a backup one in case you get suspicious the first isn't working.
nice video, whats the best antivirus/er spyware out? Because i got avg free and i know i got some leftover virus/spyware left and i need to get rid of them
