  • Thank you very much for sharing a wonderful song......

  • @southamerican888 ~ YW!! It sure is!!!

  • Christine please know that there are those of us who know you were the one.

  • Christie you were the best in this band. Flip them for not understanding you were the voice they should have pushed up front. I am a fan of your songs.

  • Excellent video! I've watched a lot of Fleetwood Mac videos and I have to say I've never seen one quite like this. Really enjoyed it!

  • @stefisticated1 ~Thanks!

  • @stefisticated1 I agree 100%.

  • Love John McVie's bassline on this song!!!!!

  • @olderandmorewise ~Thanks!

  • @Wench098 the piano played by Chrisine can be heard all the time in backround , in Rumors LP She would not sing this song without playing her electric piano as well in later concerts . see other concert versions . however this video clip from "97 concert She sings her original song as lead singer ( see original '97 concert version ) and there is no piano play , live - no play back recording .

  • @8i9ou~ Ok Thanks :)

  • Love the song. And enjoyed the slide-showish video. BUT, the recapitulated pictured of the band playing was NOT of the performance, nor even the song, we were hearing.

The synchronization was way off - well, actually, it's not synching so much as approximating showing singing when we heard singing.

But, one of the reasons I love this song so much is the piano, which is absent from this video.

Still - cool that this was the studio take, and the video-scape was a nice touch.

  • @stanwshura ~ yeah its not one of my best lol Its from the Dance (not the original) So I added clips from Rumours and The Dance eras of them performing the song. I really wasnt shooting for it to be in sync cause of that but I think everyone would like it ALOT more if I did lol Thanks for commenting. Its an awesome song!

  • @stanwshura ~BTW~That comment was written by me but I didnt realize I was on my sons screen name! lol (Sorry)

  • nothin like " over my head" , even tho he's gone, i'll never forget!!!

  • Hey Christie ,You start it in Rumors and even earley , change milions of peoples on whole world included me back in '70s . Your solo album however is missing great permers like John, Mick or even Lindsey and Nick . You start it all , so by millions of fans of yours , you got to forward . 1997 concerts are the proof that nothing (like your music ) can get worst with the time . Christie Greatest American Singer op9ic@comcast.net

  • I cannot imagine anyone else singing this. She has a wonderful voice.

  • reminds of the time i found my little cuz in bed with his tee3n sister. i made the little bugger run for his lousy life and then i dug the sis.

  • With an opening line that says "Have mercy baby on a poor girl like me" I think it would be rather difficult to think a guy was singing this song, unless it's Reverse Karoke Night at the bar. LOL!

  • Mick Fleetwood, you owe me!!!!

  • All my favorite Fleetwood Mac songs have Christine singing lead. She's amazing.

  • Love Christine!

  • WOW! Extraordinaria canción una de mis favoritas de este tremendo grupo gracias F MAC por darnos buena musica..! dsd SAN JOSE BARQUISIMETO VENEZUELA

  • it was so cool growing up in the 70's, luv ya mum.

  • quality sound and quality video to match.can't beat that.

  • @rebventures ~ thanks!

  • Am i a bad person if i thought a man was singing this up to this point in my life?

  • @R3dFi31d5h0t17 lol! When I started listening to Fleetwood Mac, starting with The Dance, I thought a dude was singing this xD

  • @R3dFi31d5h0t17 You're not alone! It wasn't until recently that I found out.

  • @R3dFi31d5h0t17 no, just not trained to hear a good trained voice rather than a nasaly cartoon voice.

  • @clubmidnightsun until the time when i posted i may have only heard this song once or twice over a (bad) P.A system at work. haha . So i never really had the time nor quality to differentiate. plus she does have a deeper and richer voice than most women. and please don't assume i listen to cartoon/auto-tuned music just because i genuinely never knew of her, it's distasteful

  • this is the only FM song I've ever liked

  • so classy.....!!

thanks much for adding, loves this!! ^^

  • Indeed, the adio matches much more then the videobut nevertheless I like the the pianoplay .

  • could c hristine take stevie in a fight?

  • @BrokenneckYgor ~LOL!!! Nooooo! Stevie has those shit kickin boots he he :)

  • Yaaaaaaa

  • Christine definitely had the smoother voice.

  • *continued*

so he can cheat and hold more than one "casual" relationship and not to bring up suspicion to either gals. When she states that "And if you use me again, it will be the end of me," she may be finding out that she is getting "played" and is threatening to end their "affair." That is my hunch.

I am most likely wrong about figuring out the true meaning of these lines, but this is what I summed up in my mind about this situation.

  • *continued*

over to the woman in this song after the sun sets (possibly because the other woman may have a nighttime job or he could sneak away and cheat with this woman, without arising suspicions in either gals.) "You woo me until the sun comes up, and you say that you love me" can possibly assume that when the sun rises, it is time for him to leave her until sunset and go to his other companion and cheat on/with her until the sun goes back down. It is a possible plan of this guy to do this

  • Happy Birthday Christine McVie!

  • This song is so BRILLIANTLY CONSTRUCTED!!

Listen closely all u young wannabe songwriters, ...

    ...........and learn!!!

  • Comment removed

  • I wish we had more Fleetwood Mac on our radios etc. to listen too. I love them. Especially this song in particular and I'm 13. I've growen up listening to them thanks to my mum. Again, I love this song <3

  • Is it just me or does the video not match the audio?

  • @nprfan2002 ~It does not. Its just a slide I made with video footage thrown in.

  • @nprfan2002 this track is not from 97 concert , it is original from album pics and video was added to it

  • Kinda funny my dad loves this band, I can't deny it, they rock!

  • When she says, "There's not another living soul around," does that mean that they're performing in a cemetery?

  • @toolongforyoutoread6 ~ more like having sex~could be sex at a cemetery though! Who knows lololol

  • @toolongforyoutoread6, I am not very good at understanding the meanings behind many songs, but I have a guess at what "There's not another living soul around" may mean. I think that she is stating that there is a man who only casually "loves" her after dark, hence the line, " 'Cause when the lovin' starts and the sun goes down." After the sun sets and the usual daytime rush of people, (in his case another woman (or women,) he may be cheating on a woman, who he sees during the day, and switches

  • Rock is dominated by males, but Christine McVie and Suzanne Vega are my favorite song writers.

  • woo!!!

  • I be lovin me some Mac!

  • @shakeshackgirl ~OH YEAH!!!

  • I once heard a reference made as to Stevie's voice being like the brass section of an orchestra and Christines's as like the woodwinds. Pretty good analogy.

  • talk about a 1-2 punch! if by some freak of nature, you are not melted by that voice, you are promptly finished off by that look. she could burn a hole in granite with that gaze! man they just dont make them like that anymore!

  • I photographed Fleetwood Mac in 1977 in Canada. To see the shots go to ianmarkmusicphotos (.com)

  • Girl never really got her due as one of the best pop singing voices of that era. Always dug her stuff.

  • I always thought this was a guys voice...eek...

  • I love Christine's voice -- so rich and earthy. She did this song and "Over My Head", and god, I thought I died and went to heaven. Very sexy, very sensual.

  • @starcrane123 ~YW!! :)

  • @starcrane123 Stevie is out there with the flash and high energy. Chrissie is understated and sensual. I began listening to this group in the middle 70's and I have always though Christine was the sexier of the two female vocalists. And, of course, an extremely talented musician.

  • @starcrane123 When I was a little kid I thought the singer in this song was a man. LOL.

  • finally a studio verson thank you soo much :)

  • i love fleetwood mac but i have to admit i like christine's voice better than stevie's....easily.

  • i really like this song Christine has a nice voice :)

  • i love this song i always seem to hear it when i fall in love :)

  • she is so pretty,,i love her eyes...

  • This is real music♫ haaaa unlike some of the so called music of today.. awesomee

  • God I love Christines Voice!! Mature, Rich and it fits her fabulous looks. This is one HOT woman! End.

  • Very very nice sound!

  • christine is so underrated its not even funny. i love her, and she has written some of their most memorable songs.

  • i love this song - christine reminds me camilla - very sexy women!!

  • Would say I like this but most of the video is from a 2009 performance of 'Dont Stop'.

  • @MrRmeadows ~ from Say You Love Me~The Dance

  • So glad I discovered this singer!!! Her voice: SIMPLY AMAZING!

  • love the hole group classic song

  • grad hs in 1978. This song is clearly one of the best of the 70's. Played the 8 track until the tape player ate the tape. Brings back sooo many memories.

  • Christine is the bomb! I sure miss her and fleetwood mac. Her voice is so musical. She definitely has a better voice than Stevie Nicks. Great job on the photos!

  • Christine is the bomb! I sure miss her and fleetwood mac. Her voice is so musical. She definitely has a better voice than Stevie Nicks

  • This is so beautiful.

  • i ask my self why im so noob...but is like in love, u need some1 TO LEARN...ty my old friend Horia who open my ears, my mind, my soul....i wish all waht i feel now to follow u in all of u remaining life....benga....

  • what a sexy voice Christine McVie has...so much soul....

  • Christene's voice spurred a young mans dreams and was directly responsible for an epdemic of wet sheets in the middle to late 70's

  • I totally love this song!!

  • Thank you very much for putting up this song!!

In my opinion Christine McVie is the best female singer / composer

Listen to the guitar in this song, the old Fleetwood Mac, before Stevie and Lindsay

    What a great song!!

  • Everything flows so perfectly on this song. Yeah, I love Christine's voice on these lyrics and keyboards. She sounds like she's singing about herself. Not to take away anything from the rest of the group, as without them the song wouldn't be what it is, but John McVie's bass runs on this song reach out and grab you just like Christine's voice. Absolute classic.

  • Sensational..for to dance!! EVER!!

  • Love this wonderful track 1976.

  • I got insanely angry when i found out that someone stole my flash drive from me that had all sorts of sentimental stuff on it, like my Eaglescout Project and my highschool Senior Project, but then i listened to this song and i felt much better :)

  • Christine Mcvie has a lovely voice and she's a great composer! And there's something very sexy about her I must say! She has these wonderful qualities but she acts like she doesn't know it.

  • I like Christine McVie's voice better than Stevie Nicks.

  • @iw32 Couldn't agree more.

  • lovely woman and voice!!!

  • Damn , I got a crush on you Christie, Ever since I got shot with a rubber bullet in Stockton in 1972, I don't think the two events are related. But that was a great show

  • I always wondered if the use of the banjo on this song was inspired by the Eagles use of banjo on some their early songs with Bernie Leadon. But then again, Eagles use might have been inspired by folks like Chris Hillman, the Flying Burrito Brothers, etc. Everybody just kind of fed off each other. That whole early-mid 70s country rock scene gave us some AMAZING music.

  • @BianchiMedia ~Glad you liked it! Christine is amazing!

  • Love Christine McVie, felt sorry for John when I found out what this song's about

  • I like this one better than their others. I think the bass is what does it for me.

  • Ah, just the best. Wore this 8 track out.

  • thank you so much for putting this up this song is amazing

  • @awarmpoptart ~So glad you like it~~ It is amazing! You're Welcome :)

  • At the time she wrote this song she was dating Dennis Wilson and they had weeks where there was nothing but alcohol, coke and then Dennis would disappear and she would be heartbroken. She'd wake up one morning to find Dennis planted a lovely flowergarden in ber back yard in the shape of a huge heart. She'd take him back and the cycle would start all over again. They were both quite tempetous and unpredictable. I wonder how much of the FM songs from this time period are about their love affair?

  • When music was good! For the whole family, no age requirement needed!

  • This haircut is perfect for her face. Makes her look hot !!!

  • amazing!!!! i love fleetwood mac... i love this song...

  • one of the best ABBA songs ever!!!

  • christine mcvie has a better voice than stevie. Plus mcvie is from Brazil and is Jewish

  • very nice!!!

  • Such a beautiful song. My heart was broken recently and it gives me strength.

  • they can't reproduce this one live because lindsey can't play banjo and guitar at once.

  • Thank you

  • love the words to this song

  • Such a foot-tapper, luv this piece. McVie was always my fave lead.

  • Christie Mcvey SWEEEEEEEET BRINGS BACK MEMORIES

  • my favorite song from fleetwood mac....totally love them and the song...thank you......

  • @quiltbee You're welcome :)

  • Thank you Wench098 for letting me relive days of my youth. A sweet trip down memory lane is exactly what the doctor ordered for me. I did like this video, some of these pictures I had never seen before. Once again a BIG thank you for posting this. Maybe you might do something Christine McVie's song You Make Loving Fun. I'd like to see what you come up. Larry

  • @bagobuilder~ Glad you liked this! You Make Loving Fun vid is a great idea. Im going to try to find a demo of it. I need to do more demos because I have too many copyright issues and thinking Utube could delete this channel any minute. :(

  • @Wench098 if they do delete this channel...youtube sucks....

  • @bagobuilder ~Thanks,,I agree! lol They deleted a online friends channel~EnchantedStevie was her handle and she had amazing video. SUCH a LOSS! I hope she makes another channel. Thanks again for commenting :)

  • Christine McVey is very talented indeed, and is a real songwriter. The thing is in Britain hardly anybody knows her,yet that talentless ass Geri Halliwell is on talk shows talking shit for an hour and saying she is a songwriter.Well Miss Halliwell this is a real songwriter here you can't even play an instrument.

  • @YARROWS Anyone can say they are a songwriter. As an artist, my litmus test is very basic, simple: does the work tell a story and tell it entertainingly? The test for whether it's any good today; does it move my audience emotionally?

Ms. McVie's song, "Songbird," moved me as a teenager when I bought the album on vinyl. Still, her heartfelt singing, with a simple and eloquent lyric... gets me to this day.

  • @lokijordan Suave and beautiful

  • When I hear this my heart gets bigger. Such a gift...

  • Christine, Sarah Vaughan, Barbara Lynn, Dusty Springfield, Gladys Night, Donna Summer, Annie Lennox...sultry-voiced divas all. Aahh...

  • LOve it,LoVe it.Love it.Always.One of best songs ever recorded.

  • better than stevie nicks??

  • Linda Rondstant Rocks!! Love the vocals she sings!!!

  • I have always loved John's bass part on this song. Totally unheralded player, but he probably likes it that way.

  • christine mcvie and/or lindsay buckingham wrote most of the # 1 hits for fleetwood mac...........period......

    nicks has a couple

  • Stevie has also had a hugh Solo career. & without her Fleetwood mac would have dyed on the vine.

  • Why do people always INSIST on comparing them? The single greatest thing about Fleetwood Mac was the awesome harmony created by McVie, Nicks and Buckingham, when the three blended their vocals. Subtract any one of them from the mix and something is missing. The most recent incarnation of FM without Christine, the magic is simply not there, as was the case with earlier reunions which Stevie did not participate. Three-part harmony with one of the parts missing isn't the same. And musically...

  • (cont) ...they each contributed MUCH to FM. Christine with her funky/bluesy sensibility and Stevie with her mystic, nuanced songs and style. Without either one of them, it would NOT have been the great band that it was. They were/are friends and admirers of one-another's work, so I don't get how fans always want to pit one of them against the other. It would be like saying "The Beatles were a great band, but John sucked".

  • @mthivier ....lol

  • Your absolutely Right ! Each and Every part is necessary to balance their music equation. There is really no debate about this subject !Love Fleetwood Mac having lived through their whole history. 63 where did time go?

  • Best by a mile

  • this is my fav fleetwood song! love it!

  • To me McVie's voice has the quality of a woman who is grounded in life. A sound & mature female presence. I can't understand why some people here would type that she was better than Stevie or vice versa. To me they complemented each other. Even though they had 2 VERY distinct voices they sound beautiful together on songs like "Say You Love Me" and "Little Lies". So I wouldn't say that Christine"IS Mac" or Stevie "IS Mac". All members together create that one unique essence of Fleetwood Mac.

  • exactly! Thanks!

  • @ReeseMac

    I agree completely.

  • @ReeseMac I can't find fault with your point of view, you are totally correct.

  • @ReeseMac exactly.

  • @ReeseMac She had the same voice when she was a raging cocaine addict.

  • Absolutely. McVie has to rank among the most "little" known money makers in the business. She's an amazing soloist, backup singer, piano player, and (most important) writer. On top of all that (sorry, I'm a guy)... she's a classically beautiful woman.

Took me nearly 40 years to appreciate all that. But I think the real magic happens when she's with the group. She and Stevie have very diifferent voices. But I especially love them together.

  • Christine was the best.

  • Mac without Chris aint Mac at all !!!!

  • This is a awsome song! Most thirteen year old girls would be listening to crap but this is loverly : )

  • I was a freshman in high school when this song hit the airwaves in 1975. It was then and still is now, my favorite Fleetwood Mac song. And if you ever hear it from their 1981 "Live" album, it sounds awesome!

  • @MultiBaldEagle

I was born in 1987 I wish I could have went to HS in the 70's omg that would have been pimp.. I would have a afro and a trans-am

  • @Milkm4n2005

You're never too young to be an FM fan. I was born in 1964 and have been a huge fan since I was 13. Welcome aboard.

  • @DanielMcDirty You could appreciate them bit more though, being child of the 70's when they were just starting out.

  • @MultiBaldEagle This song was actually 1976

  • ' Say you love me" Amo de montão desde a adolescência. Música, intérpretes, ritmo, instrumental : MASSA!

  • i wish they had too! thanks for the great photos! gotta love early Mac with Christie.

  • I wish they'd done more songs exclusively as duets between Christie and Stevie..I love both their voices.

  • Fuckin Awesome....Thank you

    ~O!

  • Vou me acabar de tanto dançar!

     MASSA!!!

  • Very good, thanks Wench!

  • Thanks!

  • São feras no ritmo. Maravilhosos! SUPER DANÇANTE!
