I love the franchise including the reboot but my only complaint was that they paid too many homages to past films. Hell they even made a direct quote from Freddy vs. Jason. Freddy almost had his head cut off ala FVJ. This film recycled kills. The F13 and Halloween reboots all used new kills which is what this should've done. Jackie was amazing though. He's too short though

fuck everyone who says jackie did a bad job. he fucking awesome. he was a more dark and scarier version of freddy. robert englend was more of a comedian. this movie was a good remake! the new face actually looked like it was burnt. the old face looked like a piece of plastic that was slapped on roberts face.

geez look its just reality. when a famous older movie has a potential of being remade and changed to fit the newer, younger audiencees, what do you expect? you cant just stay on the old movies forever. maybe its the generation gap but i swear, whats wrong with a remake? it may be different, but thats why its called a REMAKE

@darkburningeyes its not that it was a remake that piss everyone off its b/c they actually made a good film but cut it up soo badly that its crap now.they took out alot of stuff for the film that would've made sense for the film, it would be longer but it would've really explored the realm of freddy alot more and it would've been a better film than what was release. some of the deleted scenes are on the blu-ray but there are a whole bunch of them thats not on there but would've help the film.

This new Nightmare on Elm Street was a disgrace to the original die hard fans. Robert is the true master piece to every Freddy film and without him Freddy Kruger is dead forever because no one can bring Freddy to life on the big screen like Robert England. Jackie Earl Haley was a disaster in this film he swore he was so scary I was laughing at him every time he came on the screen with that stupid make up he looks more like a Lions face than a burn victim. Micheal Bay should stick to Transformers

@trunkzdbz I liked the movie, and I'm a big fan of the original movied, though I think Freddy's Dead is a Joke. Save the best for last my ass. It's the worst one of the series. Why is it that some fan's will never accept anything other than what came before? It's not just Nightmare on Elmstreet. I've read simular comments about Transformers, Star Trek(2009) and many other remakes or reboots.

@trunkzdbz I am a huge fan of the original movies, too, but I liked this one alot as well. Just like I enjoyed the remakes of both Halloween (Second Halloween remake was not THAT good, but I still think it was OK), and Friday the 13th. I love the originals of ALL three movies too, but It's interesting to see what these horror movies are like when set in the 21st century.

Jackie is the best thing about this film...period. And yes, this Freddy is extremely brutal...but the cynical humor..even the small bit, is what makes him such a sick SOB. He messes with u before he kills you. He has a grad old time. This Freddy is just mad bcuz now he looks like an alien....i dont blame him. id be killing people too.
