In the case of Kutna Hora, they wanted to build a new church, so took the bones of the nobles in the graveyard to build an underground chapel, to still honor them though there was no room, due to the extensions, to keep them buried in the chapel graveyard.
The bone church was quite interesting, though somewhat creepy. It's always fun exploring isn't it... sometimes a path leads to something exciting, and sometimes not... but it's fun nonetheless.

Seeing all those skeletons really does make you think about your own mortality. It's a little creepy at first, but fascinating!
