I realize it's a very basic chant, but this song sounds too close to the Rangers goal song. Both contain a crowd chant of let's go [team name]. I know a lot of people around the league thought the You Suck chant was bush league, but they could have come up with something better than this.

By the way if the islanders don't like how fans chant "SUCK", why do they then still play the chicken dance and if your happy and you know it during games.

If the parents have a problem with the kids hearing cursing then just dont bring them to the game... and personally i agree that we shouldnt be paying royalties to him but at least have a good cheering song like song 2 by blur of something the fans can really chant and already know

A song's licensing rights have nothing to do w/ royalties paid out for songwriting publishing. The Beatles rights were auctioned but they still get the publishing royalties. As for the beer thing, that's not factual, considering that this whole "you suck" bit originated from the "havoc" zone, the predominantly alcohol free cheap seat section designated to draw in younger fans. Not to say there isn't a history of vulgar chants at games, there always was, but the "you suck" one was unnecessary.

I started doing the "hey, you suck" cheer, but I realized the song wasn't the same. What a shame. Great game though. Joey Mac came through big time, The Islanders came out of the gate supercharged and 7 Mary 3 wasn't that bad. Add a few autographs and it was a fun night.
