at audiesgirl: Steve Barton made the promo versions and everybody was totally sure about beeing him on Broadway. But as you know, the original director of the show is not really "welcomed" in the us and so the composer and an assistant director worked out the preproduction of Vampires.. For minimising the financial risk they´ve put a bigname on castlist. this bigname with some "attitudes" rewrote the script and well, yes, the show was ruined from the very beginning. a very bad musical sin :-/

Vampires are humans whose sins condemn them to eternity on earth in the netherworld outside of God's grace. To them, He is indeed dead for they can no longer feel His presence. Their Hell is to be tormented by carnal appetites they can never satisfy. They hunt those who have not yet fallen from Grace in a futile quest to feel alive. In the later confessional Die Unstillbare, Krolack reflects on his fallen condition. At the end, the vampires warn they will get you, too, if you reject God.

@CraziestBaby na umso besser find ich . is ja logisch, das die das ncih wörtlich übersetzen können. aber ich finds zB nciht schlecht um einfach die rolle des grafen zB zu verstehn .. man findet in jeder sprache ein stück mehr raus :)

it did... a few years ago it opened with Michael Crawford.... but it was horrible... they basically made the story into a big joke and strayed from the German story line..... tragic

i did just read somewhere that they are actually working on a new English adaption that's opening in London in 2010 that's called "Vampire Killers" and it's going to stay true to the German... here's hoping!!
