  • Start spreading the word that will bring American values back starting today. See the short clip at this channel, and share if you agree.

    Thx.

  • How these guys never made it in the states is beyond me!!!

  • My favorite band right after Led Zep

  • @pencon61 DUDE YES!!

  • this song is so amazing, I can't get enough of it.

    Also, lol 3:46.

  • These guys rock - first 3 albums are as good as any new rock out there. The cool thing about them is that they are Canadian and from a place that is very hard to rise up and out of. We had a chance to play before them at the Masonic Temple in the early 90's and the crowd was blown away. I really hope that they make another album that goes back to their roots and give some of the new kids that want to rock a chance ( :

  • PERFECTION!!!!

PS...I love the rock concert pants Bill Welychka.

  • This is like Axl going from Mr. Brownstone to November Rain, believing it was a huge step forward. When TTP leaves the "Zep fronted by Morrison" formula (The River) they just sound disposable and homogenized. And in this case, overblown.

  • @termsofusepolice I know you are entitled to your "opinion", but I just about threw up with the Axl reference.

I love people who pick but don't play.

  • OMFG.. just.. WOW !!

  • Dare i say, perfection?

  • me gusta esta canción

  • @VeryVery1 hola una pregunta como se llama la cancion que ponen al ultimo en off cuando salen a saludar a fuera saludos

    desde chile

  • We need more Much Music Intimate & Interactive footage, like this, on YouTube

  • the tea party had a huge following throughout my highschool and university years. three of their albums went platinum in canada, then something happened after transmission. i felt appalled by j. martin, be it his arrogance, his self-destructiveness etc. i remember putting the band on hold, and just begun to listen to them again recently. i think jeff was frightened by their success.

  • I saw them about that time at fort erie friendship festival , free show. They had a first nations crew open with a pow-wow style drum jam.

    Wicked.

  • I lament never having seen them live. Seriously - to have gone to the Railway Club? I hope one day they come together again.

  • I saw them play at the commodore on their last tour.. it was the perfect venue for them

  • @Selurinhe Next year ;) Jeff has mentioned it in a few of his solo shows now.

  • What year was this?

  • 1998

  • my favourite song of theirs...

he is truly one of the best live acts I have EVER seen... still to this day even after seeing him live maybe 10times..

  • A-M-A-Z-I-N-G ..... even live

  • oh yeah I was lucky enought to see them live and my friends band covered for them!!!!

  • hey thats the only way i can play instruments as well.. by ear.... could never learn to read music and my teacher made the mistake of playing the songs just before me and i could do it and pretend to read music lol this song is one of my favs.... beautiful and haunting!!!!

  • he is a rare musician as he can tell the music notes just by his ear, not many people can. He plays many instruments as well. Great band

  • tea party is fucken awesome!!! what happened to all the great canadian bands?? tea party, sloan, moist matthew good band, i mother earth, holly mcnarland

  • What a song !! Masterpiece !

  • Very overlooked Band. Don't think people were ready for this sound and concept.

    Very experiment Great

  • This is easily my favorite song ever and this Live version just made me a bigger fan of the band. Pity I was never able to see them in concert

  • most criminally overlooked band is more like it!!!!!!

  • definately

  • Awesome ! ya, and what a great song ! after that CD though they really lost their writing abilities or something. Really perplexing.

  • most criminally overlooked album of the 90's

  • Total awesomeness!!!!

  • Fuck these dudes rock son!! This was when people were able to write and make REAL music!

  • God I wish they would get back together ! :-(

I really love thier music !!!

  • thiss is the best live proformance i've everrrr seen!! the tea party is amazing :)

  • Unbelievable.

  • The Tea Party put on the best concert I've ever seen....truely amazing!!!

  • wow.

  • The Tea Party was amazing.. it just seems like the rest of the band was so under rated.. their drummer was amazing

  • indeed their drummer fucking rocks!

  • This is probably my favourite tea party video. The intensity builds perfectly, the orchestra makes it epic, and towards the end Jeff plays and sings with such emotion it gives me the chills.

  • I completely agree. There are so many elements to this video that make it fantastic - particularly the ones you mentioned. I also think the set and lighting both deserve a mention though.

  • Point taken ps if your gonna use a name to help get your point across Led Zeppelin isn't the best example of an unpopular name compared with tea party as it doesn't sound like a contrast to their music like tea party does. Also if it was meaningful to them then good on them for using it, wasn't having a shot at tea party, was just saying that I thik they would have been much bigger with a different name and got more recognition in the music world. If they didn't want that then good on them.

  • Personally I think they would been alot bigger if they hadn't called themselves the tea party, can't say it goes and can't thik of a worse name for a rock band, they are bloody awsome though, hard to beat them live and boy is Geoff Martin talented with all instruments he can play and obviously songs like this, TOOL and a perfect circle are one of the few who could upstage them in my opinion.

  • It's not their fault that people are too stupid to know about The Beat Generation and gentlemen like Jack Kerouac, Allan Ginsberg, William S. Burroughs, etc. Their 'tea parties', where they would spend all night getting high and discuss anything and everything under the sun is what they are named after. Sorry, but that's brilliant. Are 'Tool' or 'Staind' better names?

  • Na probably not better names but tea party sounds gay for a band, the party would have gone down better, just the way it is and I don't think they were getting high on tea right ? ;p

  • They weren't getting high on tea, but 'tea parties' were indeed what the beatnik get-togethers were called." They had decided to name their new group The Tea Party after the infamous hash sessions of famous Beat generation poets Allen Ginsberg, Jack Kerouac and William Burroughs.[1]"

It's not 'gay' if you're versed in some of their philosophy. If not, then I've got no problem with people not enjoying their music because of their name. There's more meaning in their name than most bands.

  • 'The Party' would have been fine if they had been interested in attracting frat boys and sorority girls as fans. Opinion is subjective though. There's a boatload of people out there who think Led Zeppelin was a stupid name as well.

  • thats one of their best songs ever...and this version is even better

  • Jim Morrison Lives!

  • AWESOME ...

  • All of the Tea Party's musci is haunting, some with an eastern influence. This is, in my opinion, of their best. A very issues oriented band with a good global view. I miss them.

  • Love this band. This was actually the first time I saw them. On this performace on Much music. The state here in the US i lived in then got the channel and I heard this song once and to this day it's my favorite :O)

  • Tea Party might went unpreciated, but those who recognize original and great music know that they're the best around... with no doubt... one of the best rock & roll groups of all time...

  • Probably their best song. So sad that they did not make it in the states. I wish they would get back together & give it another shot.

  • this is absolutely the greatest song ever written...period!

  • dude i just posted a comment on another psychopomp entry it read ... greatedst song period.... then i clicked this entry and read your comment ...lol telepathy nice work goosebumps

  • - Muchmusic is horrible. MuchMoremusic is at least decent.

    - Tea Party was definatley an underrated and underappreciated band. I really hope they give it another go, and go back to their roots.

  • Tea Party weresnt't JUST a late 90's Goth Band. Wow you kids need to get informed. They were around for 15 years and were incredibly talented and dynamic and incorporated MANY styles of music. A True GEM of a band. Sorely missed by me.

  • great tune, it's too bad they weren't very successful

  • I wish I could see them live...

  • Thanks for sharing, this is my favorite song of theirs and they are better live, this song has great build up its amazing.

  • Seriously....Tea Party needs to come back...they made some pretty cool music....but then again, who knows...maybe they will (look at Smashing Pumpkins, Van Halen, Motley Crue)

  • jeff said "all good things come to an end but, sometimes they start up again" the last time i talked to him

  • He also said he'll do a reunion with them when Hell freezes over!!! If it does happen it will be a very long time from now. That is from an interview with Jeff

  • Thisis one the greatest "slept on" bands of the late 90's.

Thier chemistry was great. Im not generally fan of dark demeanor/goth (or whatever word you wanna put int here) in music but this was brilliant.

I will love this band for life.

  • this is a mad performance they are soo good.

  • if much music was still around it would probly be a piece of shit like all the other stations. face it the music today sucks

  • Actually it still is around...and yes it is garbage...so you're definitely no missing much...VJ's they have on now leave A LOT to be desired.....

  • I agree Much has really gone down hill since the late nineties. VJ's don't seem too intelligent or informed about anything other than the most recent Britney scandal, music videos are repeats of popular hits. I miss the grungy, experimental Much music of the past. =P

  • fukn greatest song ever i love it

  • this is my fav. fuckin' song

  • What a fantastic performance. Thanks for posting!

  • I love this performance. Thanks so much for putting it up. =)

  • U did!!

  • an amazing performance on I & I. I totally miss this

show on much music. we no longer get this channel in the states.
