Man, I was born in '95, but my parents have always played this around Christmas time! Whenever someone mentions a Christmas song, I immediately hear the Mitch Miller version!
I too have very fond memories of this album. It was played each Christmas as far back as I can remember. I continue the tradition with this vinyl treasure that is over 50 years old- somewhat scratched & a bit hissy- but still very much enjoyed! RIP Mitch!!!!!!!!!!!
The kids in the neighborhood loved coming to our house at Christmas as we all sat around the livingroom and sang along with Mitch. Song sheets came in the album. Great memories
Mitch Miller was a great American musician. He and his chorus sang real feel good music that the entire world could relate too. He will be forever missed.
I wish I could find this whole album on here! Just was listening to their version of "!2 days of Christmas" but it's nowhere to be found here on YT :(
@abqmarchosias i think i still have it...i'll see what i can do but i just moved into a new apt and things are a lil crazy,tg i got my cable turnd on lol
I just found out he passed... makes me very sad... it wasn't Christmas at my grandmothers without Mitch in the background.... She passed in 2009...and my dad in July... And somewhere I have this record......
we had this album when I was a kid, I am now 45 and this brings back GREAT precious memories of me and my parents, esp my Mom... we would clean to this and used to sing our hearts out... I miss BOTH my parents, as they have sadly passed on many years ago, and I miss Mr. Mitch Miller too... thank you for sharing, smiles... MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Mitch Miller brings back VERY good memories from when I was a child. We ALWAYS listened to this record when we put the Christmas tree up. Thanks for posting this!!
@12docholiday My household STILL plays it, I got the record at a flea market, (or flee, either or), and I'm 14, and I STILL love these things even though I'm not from that era. XD
Every Christmas my Dad used to play this record, and now every time I play it,
it brings back memories of Christmas growing up in El Salvador with my brother
and sisters. I remember how we used to sing along to all the Christmas songs
on Christmas eve. It is a Dynamite Album.....

God Bless Mitch.
1911 - 2010.
I don't know why I find the news of his passing so upsetting.
SgtHulkasToe 1 year ago 12
Me neither, but it is upsetting. Perhaps his death represents the loss of another portion of the innocence and wholesomeness of that bygone era.

@ttlms I think that's why it's "Sing Along With Mitch"... and is that supposed to be an insult?
