All immigrants are asylum seekers in the beginning. Once they arrive they apply for refugee status. In the meantime, they are DETAINED in Hal Far. So they can't go protesting. Understand?
Some of the applications are rejected, in which case they are sent back to Libya. However in other cases the applications are approved (it can take up to 18 months to get refugee status).
That means that they can roam Malta. Then some of them opt to leave and go to Europe.

Im Japanese and I lived in Malta for a year.I was supposed to stay there for 3 years but the racism against Asians in Malta was unbearable that I had to leave.People were shouting at me and calling me names on the street for no reason on a daily bases and it really hurt my feeling.Tourism is Malta's main recourse of income,we go to Malta and spend huge amount of money.Then why be rude to us?Maltese people should realize what they are doing and I truly hope things will get better in the future.

I am of the opinion that racism is on the increase in Malta and the EU has only itself to hold to account. With over 415 000
inhabitants on an island just 315 sq KM - it is inevitable that locals are feeling threatened. The EU's attempt to engineer the social demography of this tiny island has backfired and the people of Malta have grown more xenophobic and racist. The illegal immigrants must be repatriated otherwise the rise of the far right parties and deeper racism will take hold in Malta.

I have nothing against black people or muslims in general, but the fact that they behave in a way in a country that is not theirs pisses me off. I dont give a shit about obama as well as he has no influence over malta. In a few years time malta will be over run by muslims and also all of europe that is their plan. And also in am
