@maximumrule - they may well, but pan is actually a nature god like the greenman. whereas satan, tho oft depicted with horns or hooves etc (as is baphomet and so forth) is refering to more a concept or entity that sets itself up in opposition to (ie - adversary), and it's really a perversion of what Set is - kind of like an error-checker, a means of ensuring u got something correct,
many that r 'satanists' really mean they're ok with exploiting or causing imbalance, not a nature thing u see.
@maximumrule - so say when some christians say that 'so and so's actually a satanist' what they're meaning is - pretends to serve light or god or whatever, but really r just about hiding what they're actually up to, which is why we have a society that ignores facts about the soul, the paranormal, and so forth,
ie - the same system/people who cause all the abuse to actual-pan / nature.
just in case anyone is that blind to the world they live in and how messed up the environment is, & why
@maximumrule - the mentality is trying to copy the Set principle - so it sees that acting as an interrupt on process flow - it'll stop another principal, and be like 'what if this -' or 'that won't work if this happens' -
but the ''satan'' thing as practiced by some, only sees the problem-causing of perverting that, so it uses it to disrupt instead - it halts execution just to insult, and has no reasoning behind it either,
hence this society built on lies, and pain, exploiting.

Pan is really when the gods had tails. meaning that they symbolize our deep relationship with animals and nature, and the direct experience to be had with the entheogenic plants, fungi etc which also had 'god' names!
So its NOT like being looked at but seeing WITH eyes of Nature. Deep love for Nature.
@zezt Experiencing the intelligence of the universe observing you is an experience bound to happen with repeat use of psychedelic plants. When you see the eye of pan you know your being watched there's is no mistake lol. Dont be surprised if its flaming inside a sea of infinite peacock feathers either.... always is :)
