I like the idea of more man made islands.. just not theeeese man made islands. xD I think it would be better to make them more massive and less "icony". Simpler shapes and I think this would fail anyways.. So many people want it to be natural.. And were you born in the wrong century? xD

@OrionRaw You are right... But this animation is just an exaggeration of the Palm islands in Dubai, which are real, and some other projects of islands with crazy shapes (The Pearl Qatar, The World Dubai, etc). If nowadays this can be done... you know.

@cornmon As I told to OrionRaw, this is based in the actual Palm Islands of Dubai. They have beautiful shapes to make them special, and to atract media and tourism. Also, there is another reason to make them so intrincate... the islands are full of houses that offer "private beaches", and to achieve a huge number of those houses, is necesary to increase the shoreline so much as possible... and the best way is to create islands with very complicated shapes.

@yaelypower Yes, everything I do is just phantasy... so of course is unrealistic. But the islands of Dubai are real... The islands design are not done by me... they are icons of different cultures or places. I took the icons and modelated them to enhance their beauty as islands. I apreciate your critics. Watching this video, I kept thinking that island can only be economically be built in the shallows. If we were that strapped for space, we'd start macro-terracing mountains first, and any islands we make would not look that pretty. The ones in Dubai are basically billionaire's toys built to put resorts on.

All said and done, the islands in your video are beautifully done.

The biggest problem with man-made islands is that if we build too many, the sea level would rise by large amounts of percentage, flooding areas of the earth that could kill thousands of people, I think we should just let earth make lands naturally, not rush nature, that and if we made enough islands, it would deplete the amount of water in the ocean(s) and may start a 2nd big depression. Lets just leave the earth as it is and abandon the subject of man-made islands.

the only problem with these man made islands or continents are that over time plate tectonics is gonna rip them up, especially the continents :/

@wes5020 No, if you watch carefully, you will notice that all the islands have some paths for the ships. In the example of Turkey, there are several passes almost so wide as the Bosphorus.

Love the imagery and some of the names (Lupa Capitonlina and Tuyu Tango), but realistically a new continent could have devestating effects on the ocean currents, etc. (unless of course you plan very carefully, LOL) And please no islands in the largest body of fresh water (the Salmandars)

The lands arround the Great Lakes seems to be so dead because its a winter image, during the summer it may look much more green. Anyway, all photos are taken from satellite, so it was not my choice how green or brown it looks. :)))) Thanks for watching!!!!

No, el photoshop fue solo para hacer las figuras. Despues en 3dsmax, las puse en planos y como textura de opacidad. Para la textura difusa use trozos de textura del terreno mas proximo, y luego anime la camara con zoom.

@Khaagon Bueno, esta animacion es mas bien fantasia. Pero puedo decirte que las islas artificiales de Dubai no han resultado ser perjudiciales para el habitat submarino. De hecho han resultado ser beneficiosas debido al incremento de linea de costa, clave para cierto tipo de algas de gran importancia en la piramide alimenticia de aquel habitat.. Ademas, esto sucede en la naturaleza. Muchas islas son de caracter volcanico, se forman muy rapidamente. Piensa en las Hawai, que no paran de crecer.

@T0R0YD Bueno depende de la zona y del fondo marino, quizas en Dubai el impacto haya sido pequeño, pero no creo que ese tipo de islas puedan hacerse en cualquier lado, ademas donde la profundiad es de miles de metros es imposible hacer un isla artificial porque requeriria toneladas y toneladas de piedra y roca para crear la isla. Por ejemplo ese continente en pleno oceano pacifico es algo imposible y de hacerse seria una locura !
