translation is fake.for example at the beginning, Khrushchev doesnt talk about Nixon and his profession, but about Voroshilov (standing right in hat) and the fact that he had been a cavalryman sometime. After that there are many mistakes too
@prjerry7 history remembers nixon for being a fucking pshycotic crook who ordered the shooting of unarmed protesters at kent who opposed his fucking war....a fucking ruthless asshole who used harrasment as a means to an end(watergate...among others),nixon was just a fucking dictator...the guy is just DEAD and that's about it ;)
@dpapaioannow Nixon a dictator lol wtf? ANYWAYS, the truth is that while your description of Nixon is cold & bitter its allot prettier then ANYTHING ANYONE can say about Khrushchev. I say late great history teared that idiot Khrushchev a new one...EPIC OWNAGE ROFL :]
@prjerry7 The only reason Khrushchev was "torn a new one" was because he preferred to give the Soviet people a better standard of living rather than making bombs and maintaining a massive standing army. He sacrificed so much to achieve that goal, but he was up against the bureaucracy of the CPSU and could only achieve so much. He was a great man, not perfect of course, but a great man nevertheless. The idea of Nixon as a dictator is dumb though, I will agree with you there.
@prjerry7 Please research the topic more, Khrushchev was a great man at many points, as was Nixon. They both also had major failings as leaders as well. I find people often have a very simplistic view of the Cold War, when it was actually one of the most complicated conflicts in geo-politics, one that is still relevant when looking at today's issues.
@czarpeppers cold war was more of an argument about open or closed economies. It had little to do with democracy vs communism, China was communist & in the 70's opened up to be a western allie.
USA supported many non-democratic dictatorships back in the day and has never condemned such political structures [though now they do if they kill civilians massively].
I agree with Karl M. in that economics shape social & later political conditions.
@Trupoed0 lol - yeah right. it was the communists who allied themselves with the fascists in 1939 to divide up europe - and they agreed the hungary would go to stalin. as stalin himself said:
"Germany grants us full freedom of action in the Pribaltic/three Baltic States and recognizes our claim on Bessarabia. She is prepared to acknowledge our interests in Romania, Bulgaria and Hungary."
communists betrayed hungary and khrushchev denied them their freedom
Here the Fuck we go again. You conveniently forget the Fact that the West sold out Europe ONEYEAR BEFORE THE MOLOTOV RIBBENTROP AGREEMENT. TO REFRESH YOUR SELECTIVE AMNESIA IT WAS CALLED THE MUNICH AGREEMENT AND AUSTRIA ALONG WITH CZECHOSLOVAKIA WAS SOLD OUT TO YOUR NAZI FRIENDS. SO FUCK OFF ASSHOLE.
@VisionarysDomain the soviets brought the nazis to power.think im kidding? here is the order stalin sent to the german communist party through the comintern in 1931:
"The chief enemy is not Hitler, the chief enemy is the system of Severing, Brüning, Hindenburg. With Hitler's help will we first destroy the Social-Democratic Party apparatus as well as the Brüning state apparatus. In the present phase of the development of the German revolution Hitler unmistakenably is our ally."
You really are a complete DUMB ASS. You ignore the facts I presented to you and try to divert the attention away from it by bringing up a suspect correspondence in a earlier time frame. Well explain this Nazi Cocksucker. Your friends aided , befriended and gave sanctuary to Lenin in 1918 and was instrumental in putting him in power in 1918 thinking that would keep Russia disorganized. Boy did that theory blow up in your nazi friends faces. So case Closed and you lose Chumpster.
@VisionarysDomain my friends? the fucking kaiser helped put lenin in power, what does that have to do with the US? we were fighting the kaiser while lenin was kissing his ass, and then his henchman stalin helped put hitler in power in the 1930s.
and btw, on munich, that was a silly left-wing refusal to fight - that was not what the soviets did, which was ally with hitler, help them invade their neighbors and take part in the holocaust
@blackhawksify Yes, but note that they collapsed after being worn out from a war in Afghanistan, against many of the same enemies we're fighting there now. I'm not saying that we're necessarily going to go the way of the USSR, I'm just saying that we can't be complacent and think we'll always win (the Russians seemed to have this problem, even near the end, see "Chernobyl").
Well Khrushchev said something true!! USA has 300 years of history as a free developed country and USSR achieved the same development and even more in less than 50 years...
It just had to be two of the kookiest bastards possible, lol...

Khrushchev: Blacks make up what, 15% of your population, no?
Nixon: That's right.
Khrushchev: And they cause your country all these problems?
Nixon: Yes.
Khrushchev: Now you just made Alaska the 50th state?
Nixon: Yes.
Khrushchev: And Alaska is about 15% of your land-mass, no?
Nixon: Sounds about right.
Khrushchev: I don't see why these blacks should be such a problem.
