  • This is probably a stupid question but could you make dubstep with it I love dubstep and I'm thinking of getting one but I would try to make my own dubstep would this be a good item to get for it????

  • @xDJxFLOWx yes

  • sampling is for monkeys.... only joking

  • Daaaaaamn guuuud shiiiii dooooo!

  • ayye man, could you help me out with settin up my mpd18?

  • Is this a plug and play? I mean, of course, having a DAW software and all. Is it pretty much basic set up? Just wondering, I might considering buying this instead of the AKAI MPK61

  • mpd beats are boring, seriously. sound engineering is the shit that people should go for. whatch this vid and videos from yt user: tantu beats, y'll see what I'm talking about

  • super dope

thanks to anyone who replies !

  • easily the sickest video that shows off the MPD18

this is a bangin beat biggup!!

  • IM TIRED OF EVERYBODY SAYING THAT THEY'RE TIRED OF SAMPLES. HALF OF HIP HOP IS ALL SAMPLES. IF U DO YOUR RESEARCH AND LISTEN TO MORE JUST ONE GENRE U WOULD KNOW THAT. SAMPLING ISNT ALL THAT EASY. GOOD JOB SEAN W.

  • @MiDiBeAch Hiphop? Hiphop is a culture...

  • @stickmister321 hip hop...rap...it consist of the same thing. I think you just replied to my comment to get a thumbs up.

  • @MiDiBeAch This not a dubstep video... It's sad how you think everyone is thumb-begging, in away, you're comment looks more of an thumb begging comment than mine.

And no, rap aka mc'ing is when you talk over a beat, when in otherhand, hiphop is the culture which contains breaking, deejaying, graffiti and then, mc'ing...

  • Comment removed

  • @MiDiBeAch You're the one saying I'm thumb-begging, how can you flip out when I say the same to you? You sound pretty young anyways, or atleast your actions...

  • @stickmister321 U R THUMB BEGGIN. WHY THE FUCK R U STILL TALKING TO ME THEN??? OUT OF 125 COMMENTS WHY DID U GO AFTER THE ONE THAT HAD A FEW THUMBS UP???? I CARE LESS ABOUT ANYBODY LIKING MY COMMENT. I RARELY LEAVE COMMENTS SO WHEN I DO LEAVE SOMETHING JUST KNOW ITS REAL AND I MEANT IT. I DIDNT KNOW I WAS IN SCHOOL.

  • @MiDiBeAch I have never leaved a thumb-beg comment, but your first one sure was. You're phony for calling others beggers when you beg by yourself...

  • @stickmister321 GET OFF MY NUTS PLEASE. THEY'RE FOR FEMALES ONLY!!!!

  • @MiDiBeAch guy who flips out over youtube comments will hardly have chicks, maybe get a life and chill out?

  • @stickmister321 IM 24 YRS OLD AND HAPPILY MARRIED. I HAVE A LIFE. IM SUPPORTING THESE YOUNG PRODUCERS ON YOUTUBE. I DONT NEED YOU TO HELP ME OUT OR TRY TO CORRECT ME. DO WHAT YOU DO (ANYTHING NOT INVOLVING ME) AND I WILL DO THE SAME (NOT INVOLVING YOU AT ALL). THANK YOU.

  • @MiDiBeAch Yet you're cap locking... makes no sense...

  • @stickmister321 I CAN DO THAT BECAUSE ITS MY KEYBOARD. WHEN U START BUYING MY EQUIPMENT U CAN SAY WHAT U WANT

  • @MiDiBeAch I never told you shouldn't, learn to read inept.

  • @MiDiBeAch fuck yea sampling is a bitch

  • @MiDiBeAch for real man. i watched a video of 9th wonder saying samplig is just like playing an instrument. a lot of cats think its easy, but its not at all. theres alot of keys and techniques to create youre own work using a sample.

and this beat is on point. legit

  • @MiDiBeAch Dude, what? 75% of ALL music is either sampled or transcribed. Music has been around forever,no one is going to make a new beat or a new melody. but you might be able to make some new sounds with existing rhythms

  • @MiDiBeAch It requires a lot of skill

  • good job. /watch?v=4cyvOfOGzXA

  • Nice beat but i was a bit dissapointed because i didnt get to see the beat made in stages.. the kick, snare and sample was all done in one go. No doubt its a great beat good job

  • hey guys i was wondering if anyone could help me with downloading samples and using them on my MPD18 if anyone could help it would be great! inbox me :D

  • Nice chops bro....

  • Geting tierd of everybody choping Sampels

  • @zwedanez It's fucking hip hop, if you don't like it, get the fuck out of here.

  • HEY GUYS WHO KNOWS SOMETHING ABOUT MPD 18????

I HAVE THIS WIERD ASS PROBLEM!

WHENEVER I TURN MY COMPUTER OFF AND ON,BOTH MY COMPUTER AND THE MPD 18 EDITOR CAN'T READ THE MPD CONTROLLER!! NOT EVEN IF YOU UNINSTALL AND RE-INSTALL THE DRIVER!!IT DOESN'T WORK UNTILL I REPROGRAM MY COMPUTER! DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO FIX IT???? WITHOUT REPROGRAMMING THE COMPUTER??

  • Very nice. Can u plug this into a record player to sample sounds from there like most older models? Can this play a constant sequence of samples/loops? Or do u always have to keep contacting the pads to keep a composition going?

  • @mishmoshable YEAH JUST MAKE YOUR SEQUENCES LONG,LIKE THROW A WHOLE 3 MINUTE TRACK OF EACH SOUND OR INSTRUMENT OR YOUR VOCALS AFTER YOU ARRANGE THEM ,EACH IN IT'S PAD AND TRIGGER THEM AND MIX YOUR SONG ALL YOU WANT! OR PLAY MORE STUFF OVER IT !

  • @KIFTROMANIAC very nice very nice. I just wish it could be used without a computer too.

  • yeah relax song

  • Flame !

    A

  • Simply amazing.

  • Yo this joint is DOPE!!!!!

  • yo fingers are irratating..lol jp

  • Hey can you asnwer me real quick?

Why do i have to hold the pad "IN" then i chop the song. how can i just push one time and it'll play. Why do i HAVE to hold it in? :(

    pls help

  • can you help me whith the configuration i have the ableton live 8 but i dont know how configure my akai mpd 18 can you helpme

  • does the MPD 18 have the capability to make dubstep-esque bass wobble?

  • @LlowfatfrozenyogurtT Are you retarded?

  • @LlowfatfrozenyogurtT no strictly hip hop!!!!!

  • how do make it so that the samples dont over lap like how you did it on the verse

  • nice beat bro. thats shyit bumps and its mad soulful. thats whats up. much respect from your boy Host

  • all the corny stuff is always liked

  • Hey man, I'm sorta new to this. Do you think you can guide me to set it up?

  • @PhoenixBeat27 Guessing u have live and an mpd. When I got my mpd and live i felt like breaking my mpd cuz i didnt know how to work it. My suggestion is watch as many vids as you can on youtube... But what he did was have a drum pattern on loop and played his sample. 2 get samples onto the pads, u first have to upload the song on Live, create a new drum rack, chop it up by highlighting what parts you want, then split them and drag them into the empty spaces. Not that hard.

  • nice man really clean

  • as I can do to support the sample every time you click the pad, that just sounds to me if I have sustained.

  • thats tight man

  • hey dude how did you program the 18 on live ..when i connect mine to live the pads are off ..what i meen is to trigger pad#1 i would have to load my sample in pad#2 and then when i load up the rest they are scatterd on the pads...

  • good for live making .. i have the same pad and im learning to make live music :)

my news project is to make a Gorillaz - Doncamatic Remix

    5* nice music making

  • where u get these samples?

  • hey mate! im using fl studio.. i just dont understand how do you put the kicks playing at the same time you are playing the sample in the pads.. do you make the kicks first and second you divide the sample into the 16 pads? where do you get that sample? sorry bout the questions mate but you are a fuckin dope pro!

  • @graffitirasto my nigga, in the description it says "playing over pre recorded drums". he has the drums playing on a loop, and all the singing and shit is him hittin the pads

  • can i borrow that

  • Or just go to mpcstuff (dot) com. They have specialty designed cork insertions that will give you better sensitivity upgrade. Also they have different color pads, custom face plate skins and tons of other stuff. Check it out

  • Are the buttons sensible, or you have to press them with some strength?

  • @psaicon0 what up, i use to have this MPD verison of controler, had to modify the pads to be more sensitive, with a little bit of electrical tape (four small pieces on each) of the sensor pads inside. and your good, so sensitive that you barely have to tap it to get it to respond. Im using the MPD 26 now and it has control over the pad sensitivity. so there you go also there are tutorials on how to do this trick here on Youtube.

  • do you press the buttons or are they touch?

  • nice beat dude

  • when u hit the pads do u have to hit them hard or is there a good response?>

    thanx

  • @gunitgangstapimp ill be real with you itz not much of a good response

  • @gholleyl Oh really like OMG im so soz. Nod your head mate and enjoy

  • @gholleyl dont steal samples. u pussy

  • @gholleyl the art of sampling is lost because everyone shares their samples, remember when sampling used to be 1 of a kind samples and we had to figure out what was sampled? I'm only 18 and I know the good ol' days. You shouldn't have to rely on someone else for samples and how and what order they are on your pad.

  • @gholleyl : i don't think it's an instructional video.

i think he's just telling us that he made a beat in Ableton.

btw, i voted this comment down on accident,

cuz i was trying to get to the "reply" button, but i pressed the vote down button instead. sorry bout that. haha

  • i don't know if you're going to reply to this, but i'll ask/tell you anyways.

how is the sensitivity/response on the pads?

thanks for this video, i saw vids with the mpd and flstudio, but no other programs.

    also,

does the MPD18 work with other programs besides flstudio and Ableton?

    nice upload. :)

  • @gholleyl This is not a tutorial, this is a demonstration. There is quite a difference.

  • @gholleyl To listen to the music

  • @gholleyl

That's why it's called "Beat Making"

If you want to know how to do all that shit go look for a TUTORIAL.

  • @gholleyl does it say HOW to make a beat, no its says beat making.

  • hui can you say me where you get this sample??

and can you give me a good page for samples for reson

  • got the akai mpd18 this month :D) great controller!

  • yo guyz! i have a mpd18 but fl studio9 is too difficult for me (for the moment) can you tell me a software less difficult? thx

  • @GiuannWestCoast fl studio 9 is the simplest software for beatmaking

  • @GiuannWestCoast really? like klinika said. Fl studio is the easiest program to use ever. Just check out some of the tutorials on youtube and you will see how easy it is.

  • @GiuannWestCoast using MPD18 I prefer Ableton live before the FruityLoops. Only because the midi mapping is easier and more effective. :)

  • @FideLiKo88 Ive been trying to get my MPD18 mapped to ableton and havent had any luck. Any ideas?

  • i need help using the mpd

  • @lostlove72399 what problem do you have?

  • MPD 18 ? ...wow where have i been

  • Does Anyone Reccomend This Drum Machine For A Starter In FL Studio??

    Thanks.

  • @RealRapMusic187 yes, get the mpd16, i have the mpd24, get what your pockets can handle until you master and out grow it!!!

  • break outta your 8th. get creative try laying some thirds and get funky.

  • will the mpd 18 work with pro tools?

  • Do you need software in order to mess around with songs like you just did? or can you do it with just the akai 18? Im looking to buy one and I need to know if i need software...

  • @Hurry3984 you do need a software to chop the samples and load em

  • @Hurry3984 Yo you need a soft ware to run it, (Ableton Live, Reason, FLoops, Protools. I can go on forever.

  • duuuuude i'm going crazy. I just got the mpd18 and i have to hit it with a hammer if I want it to make a sound... does this happen to you? what to do?? what to DO?

    I'd really appreciate some help.

    Thanks!

  • @golfclapp

Check out mpk and mpd mods on youtube. What you do is take it apart and add a few pieces of tape behind each pad so that you dont have to hit them so hard. It works.

  • @golfclapp Increase the release to 100% on the samples.

  • yawnsville

  • nice.

  • how do you load your mpd into ableton?

  • Hey, i was wondering if you can connect the MPD18 to Pro Tools 8. Thanks.

  • @ardeepapa You can. Its just a MIDI controller.

  • @rayjromeo it's midi, you use the MPD18 to control your "beats" on your computer in what ever DAW you are using

  • you attack that pad like a praying mantis!!!

  • @MrBrandonPeoples LMAO!!!! thats funny, beat sounds pretty good

  • @MrBrandonPeoples Hahaha mad comment - awesome.

  • @MrBrandonPeoples lolololool

  • @MrBrandonPeoples LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

  • @MrBrandonPeoples ja mann, du bringst es auf den punkt!!!

  • @userdeluxe777 Das ist, was kam Geist zuerst

  • @MrBrandonPeoples like a snake hehe

  • reply to shit

  • Dude... that was absolutely SICK!!! You have gave me enough incentive to go out and pick up an MPD 18 RIGHT NOW!

  • dude. That's sick! How do u go about linking that sample to the mpd??

  • fucken sick

  • nice chopped samples

  • haha...i used the same sample just a different part...but that shit is so beautiful....u should tap 1 and 2......only...then use "step right on in" sick beat tho my dude

  • Nice Beat!!!!

From what artist is the sample?

  • @INFINITExKILL "sideshow" the stylistics

  • @DV13Tech Actually it's Sideshow by Blue Magic lol

  • @RDSDmusic LOL My Fail! thanks bruh good lookin out.

  • @DV13Tech Haha no problem man lol

  • How do you set the pads to make them in order on Ableton live. what set do you use

  • Beautiful! Your videos are always good. I have a Mpd18

  • honestly, I expect heat from you at this point.

This is one of your weakest joints

  • @lordtoranaga i gotta agree with ya on this one.

  • Cool beat I'm use to seeing you on the mpc peace.
