  • dean do you understand any of this? lol

  • Don rickles is soo funny why cant it be like those great times...

  • Comment removed

  • Great

  • Rickles is SIMPLY THE BEST!

  • "THE GREAT STATE OF ARIZONA VOTES MAYBE!"

  • To Think The Man Did All This Without Script. Such brilliance doesn't exist any more I tell ya.

  • Question. In the end Don has his nice tribute speak to Orson Welles but the roast was actually for Dean? Was it a joke that he totally ignored Dean or was this roast actually for Orson? Hard to tell with Don, he is all over the place as usual.

  • @becksdakex don roasted everybody lol but it was a roast jus for dean. don always made fun of everyone

  • @becksdakex

I think it was because Orson was going to roast Dean next...

  • @cthulhupriestess Ok, maybe. I was thinking that Orson sits to the right of the podium, the usual place for the one who is being roasted. Dean on the other hand always sits on the left, as the host. I'm confused.

  • I think it wasn't always what Rickles said that was funny, but the way he would say it.

  • hey whos that blonde lady laughing?? does anbybody know?

  • @turkishpower08 Angie Dickinson

  • @YachtsmenInc thanks pal! such a lovely lady indeed!

  • "Jimmy?! Morning!"

    LOL

  • K.O. to many comedian peronsalities out there, from Don Rickles, in this clip.

  • I just love all the roasts but I had not seen this one. Back when 'pc' wasn't heard of but everyone knew it was in fun- Obviously all of these people love each other.

  • Din Rickles is fantastic and Americas answer to Political Correctness....

  • I was born at the wrong time! I'm a 13 year old gal loving Bonanza, Little House, Big VAlley, Michael Landon, Dean Martin, Don Rickles, etc. Don Rickles is one of the best comedians in history. THere was just no stopping him!

  • Orson had a great many women in his life, there all flat now! Bhahaha!!!

  • Carmine Gunganunza.......aahhahahaha

  • Why on earth did Dean Martin have Cassius Clay on his show? He was not in the entertainment business. He had NO sense of humour and was an anti-semite, a Nation of Islam racist and a black supremicst.

  • @TheBlueyedblond Mohamed Ali is a legend

  • @TheBlueyedblond : Ok, but tell us how you really feel...

  • @TheBlueyedblond He is not anti-semite, he hates zionism, a racist mouvement, just like I do. There are many good jews out there and there is a big difference between Judaism and Zionism. I respect the first one, but fuck the latter, it's the cause of all the conflicts we have been enduring up to now.

  • @CielLint do you even know the origin of the word zion you idiot?

world most famos "palestinian" ARAFAT=born in egypt !

His ancestral tribe "AL QUDWA" = from syria !

    JUDEA to the JEWS !

ARAB terrorists back to saudi ARABIA !

  • @MrJapaneseboy1111 Clearly you have no idea what you're talking about. Here's what you should do. First, learn some history. second, learn some manners. and third, learn how to ramp up your pathetic stance with thorough and shrewd explanations.

good god ! This is the first time I see someone retracing a country's history, using only but its former president's biography. Palestine is much bigger than that Japanese boy ;). You'd understand that if you were smart. But that's okay ;).

  • @CielLint never in my life did i see a person saying nothing with so many words ! LOL

  • wow, so funny.....how much we miss the "real Stars" of yesteryear.

  • i was born in the wrong century

  • @wiccangoddess7984 me too!!!

  • @wiccangoddess7984 your face when you realize you'll never meet don rickles

    :^( sad

  • i was born in the wrong century

  • Don Rickles is the best roaster ever

  • @LunauuOrethaaa292 no. ur probly a hairy dude

  • still funny ! lmao

  • CLASSIC STUFF...WITH BARRY GOLDWATER AND HUBERT HUMPHREY ON THE DAIS!

  • i cried laughing watching this..the way he was giving shit to Jimmy Stewart was fuckin hilarious

  • "We have a wonderful night we're gunna honor Dean Martin ladies and gentlemen, uhm he's a great man, he passed away bout 3 years ago i believe." lol

  • Nobody is safe when Rickles is at the mic.

  • the all time best---Don Rickles

  • "You heard the applause Dean..I'd worry" LOL

  • very funny potato head

  • Oh snap look at Joe Namath

  • Rickles' humor was unique for its time. His humor defused racial conflict by being funny, and via exaggeration, not offensive. He gently picked on everyone. People felt left out if he did not pick on them. Look at the historical aspect of the comments and people on the diaz, as someone else pointed out. Great stuff from my youth. He still does a gig on weekends sometimes in Vegas. PS: I am black, and love Rickles. Today, every one would be protesting and suing. Too bad we are so uptight

  • FUNNYY AND A RIOTTT!!!

  • 4:36 Classic.

  • The way he talks to Jimmy Stewart is great! LOL

  • ONLY THE BEST "DON"

  • where's john wayne?

  • It hurts so much to laugh

  • Oh, and also Rich Little.

  • I think the dais for Dean's roast was the worst bunch of choices I've ever seen. Jimmy Stewart, Rowan & Martin, Don Rickles...the only really good people on the dais. The only roast lineup that I thought was worse than this was Betty White's roast. That was the most boring roast I've ever seen. 'Cept for Jimmy Walker. He was the only funny one.

  • lol

  • don rickles is the best !!!

  • So what exactly did Angie Dickinson, Gabe Kaplan, Muhammad Ali, Georgia Engel and Tony Orlando have to do with Dean Martin? Did they actually work with him on his show, or were they just there as random roasters?

  • No matter which individual is supposed to be roasted Rickles roasts EVERYONE!! So glad to see him still going strong. Sure do miss a lot of the ones sitting at the table who are no longer with us.

  • @frc1968 I agree with you so much

Dean was the best and so were the others around him

But Don is kicking it still and good for him!

  • Angie Dickinson yummy

  • And he said, "Who Cares..." - Classic Rickles - makes fun of others and then ridicules himself...

  • "How you doing Bob? Spoke to the Texaco company you're gonna blow up Thursday"

  • THE BEST!

  • dean martin looks absolutely hammered.

  • @1974fernando1 LOLL! I'm 25 and i love this stuff! Now all u have is C R A P ! lol

  • aw I wish I was born in that generation and I wish I could've been there :(

  • Who is the man with the curly hair>>>>?????/

  • @linda1067 His name is Gabe Kaplan. He was Mr Cotter in Welcome Back Cotter.

  • @bigblueandshiney ---yeah you are right, now I remember, thanks a lot for your answer!

  • "goody goody" LMFAO

  • Awesome!!

  • The master of insult!!

  • do u all think this shit came natural or was practiced till it just seemed that way?

  • i don't want to laugh, but i can't help it. guy's a scream.

  • Every time I see these clips I can't help but laugh hysterically! I sure miss those days!

  • @Jorge4402 you could help yourself

  • omg!! when he looks a Dean and says "Dean do you understanding any of this?" ...hahahaha!!!

  • "hey look at this...im making up names...and goldwater is writing them down"...--the best

  • Good old son G.

  • who is the young blond lady at the table???

  • @rapeyou8991 angie dickenson

  • @rapeyou8991 Either Georgia Engel (wavy hair), or Angie Dickenson (straight hair).

  • 6:03 wow that's a brilliant joke -- the kids at home wouldn't get the joke that's for sure!

  • The last joke killed me...

  • lol@ don rickles sonnin' kane

  • "JIMMY, I RESPECT HIM!" lmfao

  • What year was this?

  • Hilarious.

  • There is nobody out there past present or future who can make me laugh as hard as this dude. He is sharp, fast and is totally ad lib. These days he would be shut out by the politically correct liberals. Who cares. Carry on Don! The best!

  • @LouGrimaldi the politically correct sheep couldnt shut out Mr.Warmth!!!

  • I once appeared with Don on stage at the Golden Nuggett for about 10 minutes. I had such a great time and he was hilarious and had a good time ribbing me!

  • Dean, do you understand any of this? If you do blink twice! XD lmfao

  • The master

  • Rickles is a comic genius. Comics could not do this today because most Hollywood actors are too affected and politically correct.

  • What an ensemble....C&C...clean and classic....pretty cool to see.

  • "Jimmy!? I respect HIM!!" "Jimmy!?...MORNING!" XDD

  • Jimmy...MORNING!! WHERE'S DOLORES!!?? Awesome man!! He is the perfect comedian and should be who all comedians look up to!

  • uh guri guri!

  • I love it!

  • lol, ruthless ass rickles.totally over the top.possibly the greatest roaster ever.

  • "sen goldwater...sorry about the election, u were so close..." haha

  • they're all flat now

    pmsl

  • Don Rickles - comic genius with a heart of gold. And still today doing what he's best at - cracking jokes and laughing WITH those around him.

  • Don Rickles is The Ultimate Joker! He can top any one, from Welles, the top athletes & actors, the senators & of course, the real Ace, Sinatra. The Joker beats them ALL & that's Rickles.

    Long Live Don Rickles!!

  • Rickles has naturally what comedians wish for. Perfect Delivery of a joke. he is a true legend and very funny

  • @CucciCadet Today, in this PC - Politically (in)Correct environment, it's very hard for comedians to have that same kind of "Perfect Delivery" without worrying that they are going to 'offend someone' and get fined, etc.

No one has a sense of humor any more!!

We, the audience are the ones that are suffering for it too. :(

  • @PlayIt4MeAgainSam Only on television. There are still plenty of acerbic, witty and non-PC comedians around, but unless they PC it, they'd never do television.

  • @CucciCadet U R 150% Correct

  • @mastior Did your head hurt after leaving this comment? If Don Rickles is so terrible why were you here watching him? Comedy comes in all forms, if you don't like it, click the button.

  • 'JIMMY YOUR WIFE IS LEAVING YOU"! genius

  • Don Rickles was the one with the best jokes in my personal opinion. He always made me laugh hysterically.

  • can someone send me the full episode to this one

  • I love it when he goes after Jimmy Stewart "Jimmy I respect him" Rickles the best!!!

  • Rickles certainly owed a debt to Dean Martin.

  • 1:02 one of the best impersonations of Dean Martin. Rickles is on fire in this clip!

  • It's Angie Dickinson

  • WHO'S THE LADY NEXT TO JOE NAMATH?

  • Angie Dickinson

  • Before people lost a sense of humour

  • It's Great to see John Wayne here. I am surprised Frank Sinatra wasn't there?

  • I read in other clips that Rickles was a racist, that his act bordered on Hate Crime. This Man is genuine & always makes sure that audiences know its all in Fun. I wonder why the Political Correct loons bother to watch these types of clips? They need to complain about something. Its America, Don is a comic & The First Ammendment works both ways It's Free speech The PC police only believe in it to suit their agendas Also, Smoking & drinking is still Legal but back then You can smoke indoors. :-)

  • The great State of Arizona votes maybe!!

  • "you heard the applause Dean, I'd worry..." You knew that it was only going to get better! It's been years! Love it, and a great Masters of Ceremonies!

  • I havent seen this many tuxedos since the osmand brothers had their annual prom LMAO

  • As this videoclip clearly indicates, Mr. Don Rickles is truly one of the original "Kings Of Comedy", a true comedic genius in every sense of the word. The quality level of the celebrities who participated in this roast was stunning; true Hollywood ROYALTY! Mr. Rickles was the quintessential "Master Of Ceremonies" for this event; no one could have done it better!

  • That's the dumbest fucking thing you've ever said.

  • Every one of the people in that movie was born after 1950, and none of their careers had gotten started until around the late 70's, when this show happened. Don Rickles was born in 1927, way before any of them. If anything, they could be said to be stealing from him. He's one of the original insult comics. They're some of the greatest black comedians, yes, but they came after him, and are of a completely different style of humor. For one thing, Rickles doesn't even use that much profanity.

  • @aliquippawill Agreed! You're 100% right! And he's STILL kicking! He's the last of a truly great generation in media. BTW, what a cast for this roast eh??? Ali, Namath, The Duke!, Jimmy Stewart, etc. Hey!, Was there ever a John Wayne roast??? I've seen a few Dean Martin celebrity roasts, I think this was the 1st time I saw the Duke in attendance.

  • @aliquippawill shut up sucker

  • Rickles rules!

  • Comment removed

  • nobody is as consistently funny and "on" as the legend Don Rickles. may he R.I.P. THATS A JOKE!!! COME ON!!!

  • The sad thing looking at this video is that Rickles is one of the last one on the panel still with us. Perhaps a part of the greatest generation of entertainment is there. What a show that must of been.

  • @DDELE7, Ruth Buzzi is still alive, as is Angie Dickinson and Joe N, etc.

Try not to get rid of them ALL! We have such limited talent left. ...there might even be another one or two... Rickles is Still GREAT! I just saw him recently & it was outstanding. Cheers.

  • john wayne one of the best cowboy stars ever

  • Boy, what a lineup of talent, this cannot happen again, it was an era.

  • I'm from Minnesota, lets have a party. Arizona votes maybe. Don Rickles is my hero.

  • Im lovin life rite now watchin Dean martin roast! This iz REAL comedy. They dont make showz like this anymore.

  • All these amazing personalities at one table. Couldn't do this today. Not enough talent in Hollywood.

  • Don is a legand!

  • absolutely disagree with sounznice. martin was one of the best comedians, moreover, one of the best straight men ever. thats the hard part of a comedy duo... the straight man. he makes the bufoon funny. im a rickles fan to the end but i give dean his props.

  • he is a funny man

  • Ali didn't take his rickles medicine too good here.

And yes Rickles was funnier than DM - no comparison. Deano, a fine singer, but terrible in front of a camera.

    Rickles was THE dude.

  • apple juice. As great as Dean was, I think Rickles may be better.

  • apple juice.

  • Dean Martin was not a drunk. I've read biographies of Jerry Lewis, Frank Sinatra etc. It was a persona that he created to break away from his straight-guy image he had during the Martin -Lewis years. For a while after he and Jerry split, it was not known if he had the talent to make it as a "single" act. Then came the Rat Pack era and his successful movie career and the rest is history.

  • You're right. It was all an act. He mostly dank apple juice. All those videos in Las Vegas with Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr in te Rat Pack was just him drinking juice.

  • Sinatra said of Dean Martin, "I spill more than he drinks".

  • Don Rickles is stoll alive. And the jokes back then were stil rude and crude, but they were done with class, and they could get away with anything because noone got into trouble for saying anything. Jokes were jokes back then. Now you can't say anything to anyone because someone will make a police report or call the news.

It's a shame that people can't look at life without a chip on their shoulder.

    It's really too bad.

  • Aint that the truth! super sensitives everywhere.

  • OMG Angie Dickinson looks damn hot in here!!!

  • I was thinking the same very thing.

  • Yeah, them old days of the Dean Martin Roasts will always be classic comedy. Sadly, pretty much all those comedians are gone and if I'm not mistaken, Don Rickles and Rich Little are the only comedians that are still alive that haven't changed their comedic styles. Everyone else there is gone. Comedy today is totally different than what it used to be back in those days.

  • There are two main differences between this and a roast from today: The timing, and the material. In these older roasts, the actors had timing, and their material was spot-on. Clean, fresh, and funny.

Today's roasts on the other hand, are crude, poorly thought out, and insulting. If anybody would know true comedy, they would know that these older Dean Martin Roasts contained quick wit, intelligent comedy, and class. The new roasts are terrible in that they don't give the person much thought.

  • You are right on. Todays "roasts" are filled with personal attacks and aren't remotely funny.

  • Dead on. I think a lot of people with any sense of humor (and a brain) would agree.

    Cheers from Texas!!

  • This is funny! They should have roasts like this still. Instead of the rude, crude and disgusting the Comedy Central roasts, that are full of "great stars" like Andy Dick? Lisa Lampanelli? Jeffrey Ross? - These videos are great! Thanks.

  • Don Freakin' Rickles. Comic genius !!!!

  • Comic genius, never make em like this again...

  • jimmy! amazing!

  • The Roasts now a days are soo vulgar and dumb.

I wish they were more like these. Smart FUNNY comedy.

  • Amen

  • I TOTALLY AGREE!!!!

  • Show biz!

  • JIMMY!

oh don rickles. great man, great man.
