Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get closer to get a good view of the LAV when the Warthog bomb it. was able to get a couple pictures afterwards though.
If they managed to get away and at the same time get any important equipment out, it shouldn't be too hard setting up some C4 and get out instead of waiting around for a jet to hit it, if they were threatened they would probably not wait around and tape it.
If available, they could also use an AT4 to do the job, they can wreck havoc to most things, expecially with the new round

Yeah, It doesn't sound right, but they do it. Both of my brother's just came back from there, and when they can't salvage a vehicle, they destroy it. They do check it for parts first. They mainly use 500 lbs bombs (don't why not C4 though, that's a good point). I believe it's called "biping in place" Or something along those lines.
But yeah, it's real, just only doen when there is no hope to repair the vehicles.

I was riding in the vehicle not more than 30 ft behind this LAV that was hit by double stacked anti-tank mines. I spent the next hour and a half helping the other Canadian soldiers treat the wounded while we waited for medivac. I was their K-9 support on this particular mission. After spending 16 months in Iraq, my experiences in Afghanistan were far more intense in comparison and I only spent 8 months there.

After spending 16 months in Iraq, my experiences in Afghanistan were far more intense in comparison and I only spent 8 months there.
