I agree with you that Kelly's is orders of magnitude better, but be objective here. That was NOT just "ok;" that was a very good performance by any objective standard.

@regelemihai sorry but she sings with no emotions and i just dont like her style. Imo she ot good but not amazing voice and she's not a good performer and she's artificial both as a singer and person. I really dont think she's noting more than just a potential country starlet.

Emotions come with experience and time--she's a teen. I was talking about the quality of her voice. That alone cannot be contested--it's a beautiful voice. I might not think Pavarotti was to my liking, and I might consider his style "dry" (which i don't), but I can't deny him the amaizing voice he had. It's just not possible.

well i love the performance!!! Lauren is sooo awesome!!!! but look at all the previousm seasons.. the rawness that the first season had is fading away.... season by season it's getting a little bit too cool.. i think all the fire of the earlier seasons had is not there anymore.. idol is getting a little bit boring now.. i hate to say this! coz i love idol!! love it love it!!! and i don't want it to end.. i want it to go on and get new talents but. nowadays.. its not the same anymore.. dunno why

Kelly version is way way way better than this one... because Kelly Clarkson is an artist who no one can compare to. she was the first idol. deserved to win it. and i don't think any of the idol winners or contestants can match up to what she is. So I'm not surprised. KC is my favorite singer ever!!!! But you know... lauren did a wonderful job! its amazing :) :) this chick can really sing! :D

I still think it's pretty sad that Pia is going home before this Lauren. In my mind she should have been the first female in the top 6 out the door. This performance was her worst yet. The problem is the judges wont say boo to anyone. In this, she looked tired and almost on autopilot. She needs to put more energy into it. She has average vocals, and gets stuck in the same monotone range. If she put more effort into her stage presence, for me it could hide her flaws better

I agree, a lousy song choice because of her age. I would have rather heard something fun and upbeat. Too bad the Runaways aren't in the Hall (where they belong); She would have crushed "Cherry Bomb" and is about the same age Cherie was. While I agreed at first that Lauren should not have chosen this song to sing as something from the rock and roll hall of fame,, to suggest that it's a shame that The Runaways (awesome band in my mind too) would've been a perfect choice for her, completely shocked me. "Cherry Bomb" is a song featuring lines about rebellion and masturbation, not exactly American Idol material. Lauren's style is much more suited to Country/Soul like Patsy Cline!
