Do you have to film in 120fps for slow motion like this?

@88tootsieroll88 Yes you do, standard frame rate is 29.97 frames or 30 FPS. Slowing down 30 frames by 4x would produce choppy video and would look like it stutters. 120 frames reduced by 4x would still give you around 30 FPS and it much smoother. Using a iMac and Final Cut Pro, there is a setting you can add to your final work that will blend frames by looking at the motion of pixels between frames and build more in between to make it more pleasing on the eye.

Ive been looking at reviews of the hero2 and they all say that 120fps is only at 480p. so how do you get HD quality and super slow motion? is it just the power of your editing software?

@babscabs1987 You can run 60 FPS at 720 which is HD. Not 100% sure of the settings this guy uses and I would like to see the answer to it myself :)

@XioNNation this isnt the gopro hd 2, but i have it and the video quality isnt a huge change, its better but not by that much, and yes you should be able to use twixtor with no warping, if you want to see what the quality looks like in 120fps i have a vid with it.
