Ok i need help ASAP I have a washer just like this, i noticed recently when it first clicks into the first spin the agitator turns the other way as if it is trying to start washing again but then the tub quickly snaps into spin. on the final spin it makes a sort of quiet fast knocking at the first of the spin then fades out, but it usually doesnt do the thing with the agitator.i have also noticed it takes a long time for it to get to full speed on spin.
@fgbags You're absolutely right! When Maytag bought Norge/Magic Chef in the 1980's Jenn-Air was a brand they already owned. Maytag began reworking the Norge designs and selling them under the Norge, Magic Chef, Admiral, and Jenn-air brands for a while. They were affectionately dubbed by washer repairmen as "Norgetags."
@Meridian83West Yes, that sounds all about right. My favorite of all those is the Majic Chef model, loved the lint filter design that sorta "hiccups" the water up the agitator through the lint screen.. Now we're going from Norgetags to Whirltags. My how times have changed! Loved to have stuck with the helical maytag design like I still have now. Check both sets out on my channel sometime.
Is this the same make as a certain Montgomery Ward model from the early 80's? I remember seeing one with an agitator like that, although it may have been black.
For those of you who own these machines, they are rare for they only been sold for no more than 2 years. Please hold on to them, a classic in the making!

It's been a good washer until the spin stopped. I'm working on the problem. Anyone else know how to service it?

@italobambino43
I remember seeing these Jenn-Airs for sale at a Campo Appliance (like a Circuit City or Best Buy) in the early 90s.
