slappy does not change from brown to blonde. if you read the first book it says that there were 2 identical twin sisters and one got slappy so the other one got jealous and got a dummy and named him Mr.Wood the one with the blonde hair is MR.WOOD not slappy slappy is the one with the black hair its like nobody can tell the difference!

That book and the tv adaption are the reason I have always been afraid of dolls (especially ventriloquist dolls)...and my grandmother kept buying me dolls because I was a girl but I hated their big, staring eyes. I always put them in my closet and then I was afraid I'd hear the door open at night so they could come after me
