This is one of my favorite Barnabas and Julia vids. I never get tired of watching their scenes together. They were and are my favorite part of Dark Shadows. The Evanescence song is quite haunting and suits them, imo.
Very true, people! Julia was slavishly loyal to Barnabas, and would have done anything for him. Josette abandoned him when she found out he was a vampire and then killed herself, Angelique was simply into infatuation and domination, Victoria Winters never returned his love and then escaped into the past, Maggie Evans simply reminded him of Josette and was just as unfeeling toward him, and Hayley Stokes only saw him for his power and wealth. HERE IS TO YOU, JULIA!

Barnabas was never involved with Professor Stokes niece, Hallie, who was just a teenager in knee socks. But I agree with you overall. Nobody loved him like Julia did. Barnabas and Julia rocked!
Hmm, you know, I am less fluent on the later episodes. But wasn't there a young woman who sort of became the "significant other" to Barnabas as the show came to a close? It was during the whole parallel time theme which I never really liked.
@ligreekguy Do you mean the Godawful 1841 parallel time story? Barnabas wasn't in that story. Jon Frid was playing Bramwell who was paired with a Lara Parker character named Catherine. Bramwell was also married to Catherine's sister Daphne, played by Kate Jackson. It was a Wuthering Heights rip-off and a really disppointing end to a terrific show, imo. I wanted to see what was happening with the REAL time characters but the show was cancelled sooner than they expected.
Yes, wasn't that just unbelievably bad? I remember losing interest as a kid, and come to think of it, I never actually saw the last few shows! (I know, I know, that is heresy). What possessed Dan Curtis at that point? It seems as if he was going back to the first few episodes when DS was just a typical soap opera (pre-ghost and pre-vampire days). I suppose he thought he had built up a strong enough viewership to return to convention, but know where your bread is buttered!

I loved Grayson Hall. The last I saw of her, she played Aunt Euphimia Ralston on my favorite Soap "One Life To Live". years ago. I was so glad to see her. This is a beautiful tribute to Julia and Barnabas. I'm realy enjoying the flashback!! RIP Grayson....I love you.

I absolutely loved Julia and Barnabas together. Jonathan is still alive, and I hope he is in good health. And if you are talking about Barnabas, you have to remember John Karlen (sp?) too. Great times, great tv. Nothing like this now, but we can come here to remember and celebrate and share.
Too bad the show didn't continue a short while more. From everything I've read, the plan was for Julia to be Barnabas's final love. JMO, but I always found Barnabas and Julia and their relationship to be the heart and soul of Dark Shadows. Anyway, great vid and great clips!
I felt sorry for Julia, she loved Barnabus so much and did so much for him, but she came second best, she could not compete against Barnabus love for his lost love Josette, If only they could of got together and sure that they lives would be fullfilled
Great video- I always wished they could have gotten together too. All the more kudos for their acting talents are deserved in that they could portray such chemistry off each others characters as tortured souls when apparently they did not care much for each other off screen. Loved the music too-- thanks for posting this one
supposedly the writers intended for them to get together & move somewhere in Asia... Wish they hadn't canceled the series... They still had so many more horror classics they could rip off...

I keep being called over here to address comments somebody makes. lol I really should charge YT a service fee. Seriously, where did you hear they didn't care for each other? They got along as well as anyone on the show did. GH had very few negative things to say about Frid and vice versa.
Known who? Jonathan? I haven't seen Jonathan in years but I know him. He wrote the foreword for our book. I knew Grayson before she died and I'm still in touch with her family. Grayson never said anything negative about Jonathan. If Frid is slagging her behind her back, well, that would surprise me.
Julia may pine for Barnabas' romantic love but after all they've been through together she could never doubt that he loves her in his own way. I loved it when Willie confronted Barnabas with the fact that he loved Julia when he was desperate to find her. The thought of losing Julia put him at Josette level anguish and he didn't rest until he found her.
Barnabas and Julia are my all-time favorite couple- their relationship is so bitter-sweet. How I wish Barnabas confessed his love for her! Beautiful video, and thank you.
All of the scenes are selected with the goal in mind of presenting these two in their best light. I really appreciate that. I am especially fond of the clip at 1:26; it is so expressive of his torment. Seeing these scenes makes me wish that their love could have been fulfilled. Great job.
Awesome! Barnabas and Julia made Dark Shadows the memorable show that it was and still is. I absolutely love watching their scenes together.
