I drive a w124 250 d '91 its now about 750K km, bought it with 350K so 400K driven.

Problems with this car since....eh?

New glow plugs, generator brushes, mufler, water pump, a smal plastic part frm clutch main cylinder piston broke in two, fixed with a nut, front brake pads and sometimes the windschield wiper activates itselfs. That all ppl!!!

All, but tires, in 7 years. AH..forgot to tell that i drive this car for about 3 years without oil change. It gets 1 oil change a year. runs as new!

get about 850 km out of a 65 liters diesel. (highway, town, country roads) Top speed is about 180kmh but needs a very long time to reach this, its kind of slow car. I don't drive carefully. Waranty fixes wen a bought it: injector exchange (leak), damper from multibelt exchanged. Rust at moonroof, minor rust at lower frontfender. Best car I ever owned. Bought it for 5000euro with full waranty, dealer promised money back when turn in after 5 years, but checks where very expensive. 900-1600 euro.

Needs check at 10k...?!! Drove it 100K without checks, no problem, no oil change no filters changed.

Air filter, diesel filter now 360K without any problems Recently I tried aceton ad for more economy, but no effects. used 50-150 cc aceton on 65 liters diesel, got no better mileage. Yes, they are very well build and fun to drive, still in love with it. Later Mercedes Benz's are poorer quality I was told. A good W124 is expensive. Mine was just as expensive as a 10 year younger BMW .

My father had 2x Mercedes 250 D, one of the best cars i know of.

if i was you i will call first deutsland to mercedes en tell it about your car en normaly he will say come here with the car en they will do some tests en if its true then you can choose a brand new mercedes a friend of me got a new mercedes from deutsland he has a w124 200D with 110.00.000km

I just bought a 190D 2.5 with automatic gearbox. 94000km in 23 years only... I think the car will outlive me.

OM602 5 cilinder is as reliable as the 2.0 4 cilinder D. Both were made for eternity...
