  • it must be someone behind using laserpointer

    it is possible

  • lol what if theres a guy with a laser pointer behind the camera lol

  • bam your dead :)

  • maybe the firing point is to high? i think you shoul try and lower it, but its not my AWESOME PROJECT. T_T

  • it aims for ur face?

  • @caha11 why not? would it be more effective if it shot you in the foot?

  • Spys sappin mah life!

  • SPYS SAPPIN MAH AIRSOFT GUN

  • need HD here need HD here

  • Laser pointer held by a friend, and I would guess hes rubbing foam on something to get the "Moving sound"

    Not hard roflmao.

  • 3:23 Stupid. =/

  • what kind of sensors does it use?

  • Wow, you are a genius. really. 5/5

  • Life sapping mah sentry!

  • FUCKING GREAT!!!!! MAN!!!!!

  • nice! very nice! You can make money off that thing!

  • If some kid can throw something like this together just imagine what the military already has. They day when martial law is enforced by shoot on sight mobile gun turrets is right around the corner.

  • wow how did u build this sentry 100/5

  • what was it shooting

  • Awesome!!

  • Super!

  • nerd is sappin is own sentry

  • lol

  • now i know to crawl if i break into ur house lol

  • you shoulda worn a white shirt. then you could see the laser better

  • ima sap your sentry :D

  • Watch out for spies trying to sap your sentry.

  • Jesus John, got enough watchers?

  • what did it shoot

  • y did it aim at ure face

  • Most weapons are meant to kill people =/

  • Some people just need killing....

  • nice job being a wuss, anything to keep it from say shooting friendlies?

  • It needs an I.A. to be that smart, but the work is hell and cost you big bucks for hardware...

  • Or did u mean A.I.?

  • his friend behind the cam is using a handheld laser pointer

  • you hear the electric motor and the camera lays on some chair or table

  • you should release a step by step book with software for auto and remote joystick attack modes along with various easy to use setting changers in a gui interface, a lot of people like myself would buy it for bb games

    "Team Fortress - airsoft style"

  • still got some kinks to work out but very nice work

  • LOL its worth watching this vid to the end to watch him get shot in the head lol

  • YOU have got your friend to shine a laser at you

  • Where you get the servo controller from? And can you give me a link to the code on how to control the servo? Like delphi you can use the lpt port and port 888 to control 8bits but a servo controller may be easyier :)

  • Really nice Gadget...Only too awkward with all of those cables XD

  • you are definitly a wuss !!! but the gadget is cool keep with the good work

  • The reason the laser is all over is that it tracks movement, not a specific limb or body part. Thus making it track multiple parts on his body.

  • that laser is pointing all over the place

  • Can you try using real bullets to see what it does? Just kidding. I think you should use this as a home defense system against tyrannys and not as military use. They have planty weapons. The People does not.

  • can you use a mike? or speak louder? Can barelly hear!!

  • To WEKS87:

    Quite possibly, yes.

    To baman12:

A motion sensor would tell me "Yes there's motion," or "No there isn't motion," while an optical sensor, i.e. the webcam, allows the software to determine where exactly the motion is.

  • does it use passive infrared like alarm motion sensors? that would probably be better than an optical system.

  • Aren't you breaking Asimovs first law with this?

  • Looks like it, just in case, prepare for judgment day when machines will inevitably take over the earth

  • To reignmack:

It's FAR easier to program target-finding when you've got a stationary background. It'd be a billion times harder, and probably less effective knowing my skill-level to use a moving camera, though a larger field of view is definitely something worth working toward. An array of multiple cameras would most likely be easier and faster to process.

  • To h252000:

It's actually programmed to slightly overshoot, since there is a bit of a delay between a 12-15 fps camera, Java detecting a target, and then moving the servos (that are carrying a lot of weight for hobby servos).

  • More money might help out with that problem!

  • Looks like the servos are overshooting a litte bit. Have you tried to use/program a PID- or PI-controller? That should move the pointer straightly on the target without making it ocillating around it.

  • really should be wearing some real eye protection there. Does that system still work if the camera is also moving. For example if you attached the camera to move with sentry for a larger field of view.

  • niceley done. It'd be interesting to see how it'd do in the field. :)

  • Interfacing with the webcam was code I found on the web, and the code for talking to the servo controller was supplied by the manufacturer. I wrote the code that finds and decides on a target, and the simple logic of trigger-pulling etc.

  • Nice, did you code the program yourself, or can you get special software?
