Yep...a condensor mic...which has variable polar patterns...which is cool..when me and my bro Rigel66 get a new song down....I'm gonna set it on ' figure 8 pattern...and we'll be able to jam in front of each other with the mic in the middle of us...with the mic picking up each of us separately..with each side only picking up whats in front..not in back !!!..Hard to explain...thanks Jerry !

I should say that MY condenser mic has 'selectable' polar patterns..and that my mic is actually pretty cheap compared to some... it needs a 48 volt power source supplied by a Mic-pre-amp...and yes...they can be set to be very sensitive....or not.
