Obama will use the Bush admin's constitutional-rape to overstep the separation of powers to quell the econ crisis and its unrest. He will do this draconian and spark a constitutional crisis. He may or may not get shot at over that, but the end result will be a civil war over the limits of authoritarian power given to the government in times of emergency. Combined with the economy and the possibility of more terrorist events, we will most likely see the end of the USA as we know it.

Why should anyone pay for land?
Nobody created or produced land, so nobody has the right to claim ownership over it in the first place.
Land was stolen by rich elites (with extreme force) long ago & Property Laws put in place to allow them to exploit people by charging them extortionate rents merely for existing. So it remains.

Monies made available under this plan are CONDITIONAL. If a state accepts funds then it MUST alter its employment laws in accordance with federal mandates PERMANENTLY. Even though the money is given over a three year period, the changes in the laws are FOREVER. Only NOW are governors starting to realize this. Talk about predatory lending practices! The very thing Obama and Co. have been flogging the mortgage industry over THEY are doing. No wonder there was such urgency to sign! READ THE BILL!!!

I think we make up for it by leveraging our dollar in the world economy. Maybe he plans to continue doing that. Must be. Maybe he can't talk about that sort of thing.

Thing is, I really don't think the deficits can go away and stay away without eliminating the trade deficit. Ultimately, that is our fundemental financial problem. The US is the only country that can get away with perpetual trade deficits because it's the only one which can borrow in it's own currency. If that stops, we'll have to go isolationist.

This is the first step of taking more money from workers. How about the about the expanded CORBRA benefit? Sure the government will pay 65%, but there is a NEW hidden tax on employer based health insurance to pay for it. So you get an extra $13 per week, but your health insurance might increase by $40. You may get a tax break in one area, but new taxes in others. Just read the bill.

Obama is charismatic and speaks well, and he hits the right buttons. Personally, I like him. HOWEVER, this level of deficit spending is unprecedented, and keeping this huge expenditure from being fleeced & raided by all the jackals who live off of gov contracts will be very difficult. This is a vast experiment in Keynsian economics..How will he "cut the trillion dollar deficit" that he inherited by borrowing another trillion? Hmm...How about cutting $200 billion from the defense feeding trough?

This new president is smarter, slicker, and far more articulate, and that makes him more dangerous.
