Very Very good tut sir. It is very seldom that I stumble along a tutorial this good on youtube you nailed it man! I have tried doing this so many times and none of them have worked until now. Keep up the great work man no one goes this in depth with youtube videos. Thank you sooooo much!!
An alternate solution is no-ip.com. You don't have to use Dyndns i was just using it in the example because at the time it was free but any dynamic DNS solution will work free or not.
i buyed pro account of dyndns.stuck on port forwading i cant find my router on portforwading site.i am using telenet internet and router is model ch6541E how to forward ports on it ???? plz help me
Hey man Nice Video!! This is what am thinking if you don't want a static IP then you can easily just assign the same IP over and over again. without having to put a static IP all you got to do is assign it by using IP address reservation in there routers and they should be good to go!! to be honest though i never tried it but i think the logic applies!!
To do this, hit the Prt Scr (print screen) button on your keyboard and then open MS PAINT, paste the screenshot in. Save the file as whatever. Next, open windows explorer. You can do this by clicking Start and choosing Documents for example. At the top change the address bar to "ftp://sealy1986.dyndns.org" you will be viewing my FTP in Windows Explorer. Copy the photo/screenshot you just made and paste it into my FTP.
Hi again, I seem to have fixed the changing DNS address problem, however now although I am not having any problems accessing and connecting to the FTP server, I cannot see the destination folder. Is there something I am missing?
Hi very nice tuturial although there is an annoying problem for me, when I assign a static IP address and a Preferred DNS server address I get around 5 mins of internet before windows automagically assigns me a new DNS server address and kicks me off the internet, although my IP address stays the same?!? Have you any ideas on what could cause this?
So to clarify: When you connect to your server, you are able to see the directories/files on the "Remote Site" but you CANNOT see any directories or files on the "Local Site"? Or did you mean source aka "remote site"? If this is the case you simply have typed in the wrong path in your filezilla server user settings. I did that once and seen my directory was blank and I was like WTF, turns out i put "D:\USERS\FTP" instead of "D:\FTP\USERS..." which gave me a blank directory.
Nice one! Spent hours on Microsofts shit support thing trying to set up an ftp!
Just over an hour, plus a pack of twenty, watching your video and we're away!
Many thanks!

Gotta love the Aero glass.

Your default gateway is not a DNS server, Its a DCHP server for you and a DHCP client to your ISP. That is how it learns the DNS servers addresses.

Very informative video. Read many instructions before this video and none of them worked. Followed this and it's working perfectly.
