@yu0004ng sure thing, he's going thru a jeff beck's inspiration phase. Not saying it's wrong, he had a Summers era, a Clapton era, an SRV era, a Hendrix era, a Scofield era, a BB King era; hard way to create own style by learning from others. The only problem with JM imitating JB is that now it's hard to tell which one of them you hear on the radio! That's how good he is.

@BaZerKo1985 i believe he's hitting the tremolo bar to get that flutter effect (search youtube for tremolo flutter and you'll understand). but i don't think that alone is making the echoing sound. i mean, john mayer's guitar sounds clean all the time but he has a ton of guitar effects going on there so i think his pedals are mostly doing the echoing sound. (if john and his effects are not doing it, then either two of his other brilliant guitarists must be doing it.) :)

@BaZerKo1985 the echoeing effect is from a digital delay pedal, what he's doing with his right hand is depressing the whammy bar slightly, this lowers the notes produced by the strings down, the whammy bar has springs at the back to get the notes back to the original settings (EADGBE). Joe Satriani, made the squeel effect using the whammy bar in his signiture Ibanez guitars since the 80's.
