Replace it with something nicer sounding.

  • You knw how I am the most honest person in reviews, when I clicked on here I was expecting to say to ate the song, however I am surprised by how good you have done this song. Well done (you name stealer)

  • I've been Raymond for much longer than you have - so who's the name stealer?

    greetings from indonesia :D

  • Thank you.

  • Your voice carries very well, but I only wish I could hear more of your lovely guitar playing!

I guess I can't have everything, I'm glad your voice comes through as clear as it does.

Well done on such a fantastic performance, such passion! 5*'s.

  • Well, there about 750 other videos here where you can actually hear the guitar. I was pretty much just strumming anyway. It was a rare opportunity to be accompanied by my son.

Thanks a lot for your comment.

  • Very well done Ray. Thank you for posting this.

  • You'e welcome. Thanks for commenting.

  • Enjoyed this...

  • Thanks, Lew. So did we.

  • Nice. Very pretty accompaniment by both of you. Another expat song I've always loved is Ed Miller's "At Home With the Exiles."

  • I don't know that one. I'll be on the lookout for it.

  • This was just wonderful. Father and son making beautiful music together. It doesn't get any better.

I think this is a beqautiful song.

    Take care

  • Thanks, John. We don't get a chance to play together very often, as he's in Australia and I'm in Hong Kong, but it's fun when we do.

  • 'Hope you had a safe Journey Ray, best wishes for your time in HK.

    Sam.

  • Thanks, Sam. Back safe and sound. I'll enjoy my last six months here.

  • Great Duet

    Enjoyable!

  • Thanks, Johnny. I look forward to checking out more of your channel now that I'm back in Hong Kong.

  • Thanks Marco. Glad you liked it.

    Take Care

    David

  • It's fairly well known in Australia and America, Peter Allen's native and adopted countries. Don't know whether he made much of an impression in your part of the world. Thanks for your comment, David.

  • yeah that´s great mr crooke. Have a safe trip back to Hongkong!

    Chris

  • Thanks, Chris. I just arrived back about an hour ago.

  • I'm surprised it's that recent. I first heard it in 1985 performed by an Australian sixth former in a lunchtime concert at school.

  • Not old enough to be a folk song yet!

  • Lovely!

  • Thanks, Karen.

  • Loved it...Great job both of you!!! (5*) Sherry

Nice to see your son Raymond..

  • Thanks, Sherry. It's great to have his accompaniment. Just have to grab the chance when baby is out for a walk.

  • good job Raymond and son. happy travels.

  • Thanks, Danny. I look forward to getting back to your channel. No chance in Australia.

  • that was awesome, Respeckt, sounds perfeckt. great work my friend.

all the best, and keep up the great work

    Christopher

  • Thanks for your comments, Chris.

  • great job

  • Thank you.

  • Raymond-

I've the identical guitar,as well as the vintage Roland D20,as well as the same Champion tank (most likely the samesize, too),as I am of the identical build...lol!

Is the song overly sentimental in my opinion?...Yes. Is it a beautiful and moving song about love of one's country? The answer again is...Yes.

I'd rather listen to your collaborative effort presented so beautifually here with charm than the commercial we've had tell about.

    Safe Travels!

    Peace,

    Stewball

  • Thanks for your message, Max. We've had a great time here in Melbourne getting to know our nine-month-old grandson.

  • Sweetly done,Raymond! (and son of Raymond) May I ask what took you to Hong Kong to live?

  • After teaching in Australia for 25 years, my wife and I wanted to experience other parts of the world. I worked in Singapore for six years, then Brunei, and now Hong Kong. But we'll be back for good in July this year.
