@SlyNicolai No, I don't think NS1 is played very much these days. However NS2 has a strong following. There's at least one server full every night in Australia.
Actually we got a 30 player server here in europe thats constantly full anytime except for after 3-4 am in the night. also a reasonably strong competitive scene.
If i have the original HL and i can download the mod and install it etc. Do i need to have Steam to play it on every server?I mean can i play it whithout Steam like on one of the servers he sayd?Please reply it would be a great help to me.
It's theoretically possible to play NS with the old WON Half-Life install if you're willing to suffer for it, but really... shell out the $10 for Half-Life 1 over steam and be done with it.
ns2 is not stable yet hold off i buying it unless you have a good computer imo.

Combat was fun... hardly ns lite.. completely different... and not noob... NS FOR LIFE! (that includes combat!)

I play combat more than the regular, it's not cuz i'm a noob, it's cuz i want to be a commander. I hate crappy commander.
