  • He totally stole Hendrix's moves. Lame.

  • @DrVonNostrand What a ridiculous statement. This was before Hendrix even started performing.

  • man the audience is going crazy wild.lol

  • Why does everyone steal his money?

  • there's nothing stiffer than a 1950s audience

  • @19myself91 Don't forget, this *is* the SEGREGATED 1950s. Most of those white kids had never seen a black man perform in person before.

  • @KarenHlly Those aren't kids in the audience.

  • @KarenHlly Looks like about '64 actually.

  • @19myself91 Especially in France - an American audience would be on their feet.

  • ITS A LEGEND

  • The father of Rock and Roll always!!

  • Some sources indicate that he was born in San Jose, California, and his family moved to East Saint Louis when he was a very young child.

  • Have to say this is the best live performance of Maybelene by Chuck Berry that I've seen. Most of the other ones were with younger rock musicians who were too heavy handed and didn't really capture the spirit of the original. These guys are much closer, and it translates into Chuck really grooving!

  • thats awesome!

  • a visitor from a better planet=

  • Great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i want a V8 ford like chuck

  • is that Dr. Strangelove on the left at 18 seconds.

  • Man, just think, If Marty Mcfly didn't go back in time and hook up with Marvin Berry, Chuck may never have been the legend he is today :)

  • nothin will outrun his eighty four.

  • @Carthsting nothin will outrun his V8 Ford

  • @John1948ThreeA That too.

  • I had this song on a bendable 45 RPM back pocket record I bought at Sears back in the 60's. I would bust it out at all the Jr High basement parties to give a little life to the Just Walk Away Renee songs..... Chuck was sick on stage yesterday, 1-01-11 in Chitown, my hometown, Chuck, Motovate over the hill and get better - still rockin at 84.
