Aside from the fact that you did a ridiculously awesome 8 bit cover of this song, I forgot that take on me had one of the coolest music videos in the history of mankind. Thank you for the double win.
@DJHeroMist you know what buddy, you probably didnt even know the song until that. I saw that family guy thing and got the reference, you were like "what the fuck is this?".
@CdogGHs 8-bit is the type of processors the old computers and games consoles used to use such as the NES, in this context 8-bit refers to the limited electronic sounding music that was given off by such games. However the term is used to refer to just about anything from that era in computer, it was quickly succeeded by 16-bit technology.
this is just too perfect xD i love the 8 bit genre of music. i dont freaking care if people say "noooo it's not 8 bit it's actually 16 bit or 14.5 bit" who the hell cares. just stop trying to be a smart ass and sit back and enjoy the music.
This is definitely a 16-bit sound - neither the NES or Sega's Master System (the best known 8-bit systems) could produce such a sound with their hardware.
This takes me back to when I watched the original video on MTV back in the 80s, when MTV was actually good. Of course I'm one of the few people who liked their Bond theme Living Daylights.
To anyone arguing about whether this sounds 8-bit or 16-bit:
You're all right. This sounds somewhat like the TurboGrafx-16, which, although it only had an 8-bit cpu, was marketed as a 16-bit console because of its 16-bit graphics hardware. Its sound chip was primitive for a 16-bit console, but more advanced than the ones in 8-bit consoles.
@JannickBolten i am pretty sure he knows that. xD he puts up "8 bit" because that is what people search for. not as many people would look up take on me 16 bit remix. xD at least i wouldn't. 8 bit has become a music genre so just relax and don't point out the obvious.
@darkroad96 yep, it's like a MIDI version. Actually this the sound the N64 had in many soundtracks, like StarFox 64. Weird, because StarFox of the SNES has better sound and music, for example.
that sounds like from my old nokia ^^
