And then the other day I saw their record on sale on my favorite record website so I decided to listen again, and now I am totally in love with their music. The exact same thing happened to me. I was far from impressed with their album the first time I heard it...I sort of ignored it for a few months, then rediscovered it and it was like seeing the outside world for the first time after living in a basement for 20 years. Amazing.

There is something powerful in their music - something that gets in your subconscious and speaks to you on a personal level.

wow sings with so much depth even when sitting down. usually your vocals are restrained of air if you sit down with your diaphram all squashed

They're a class apart from most of the rubbish you get on the radio, and you can hear broader influences than most would dare to try: almost medieval madrigal in places, mixed with folk and country. This is a great tune, but something jars slightly on the third line - like the melody is trying too hard to do the unexpected and doesn't quite fit the chord sequence. But still the best new band I've heard for a long time.

When it becomes more mature this group will be the next My Morning Jacket in terms of its spreading popularity. But keep in mind they are still toddlers in a metaphorical sense. These guy are still pretty incredible though. Oh and if you want to see a young group who is as mature in its musicianship as Neil Young, check out First Aid Kit. Two sisters ages 17 and 15 from Sweden I think. They are incredible and they did a cover of Fleet Foxes' Tiger Mountain Peasant Song. It's here on youtube.
