I can't believe that this was the first video I ever saw on YouTube - and now I have found it again! It's still as awesome as it was all those years ago :)
This movie along time ago was called "Invasion Earth 2150 AD" in USA. This was before Doctor Who was known in the USA. In Chicago, it was a matinee feature at 1 PM on Saturdays. Another on,e was "Doctor Who and The Daleks." Another unknown feature. What happened is WTTW started showing John Pertree as the Doctor. I watched it and recognised the TARDIS! I knew what it was and watched it. I found out it was a BBC series after that. I was hooked!
Don't forget to check your local library! If your local branch doesn't have it, they should be able to transfer it over from the nearest branch that does have it!
i think these films are better representations of the episodes" The Daleks" and "The Dalek Invasion of Earth" despite the big differences about characters and the Doctor's origins
You should be able to find the DVD of Dalek Invasion 2150 at most DVD sales companies. The DVD is produced by Anchor Bay and is at the very least available on the auction sites such as EBAY or Amazon.
Great movie - I remember seeing this many years ago. Would be ripe for a remake - aren't they talking about David Tennant doing a Dr Who movie. This has a better plot than most of the newer ones
Quote lornaration: "(Vote BNP)" - I would call you a Dalek, but that'd be insulting to Kaled Mutants. Credit where it's due - it takes balls to PUBLICLY admit you support a complete idiot who is openly racist and contradicts himself repeatedly. Nick Griffin is so much of a joke, even the Myrka makes fun of him. Any TRUE patriot of Britain, knows what our country went through to put a stop to the Nazis, so to be a 'British Nazi' is a farce in itself. Its not big, and its not cleaver ;)
@ItsBurnett1984 Interesting, that before 1975's Genesis, before Kaled mutants were introduced, they were called ''Slithers'', which sounds very reptilian to me. Interesting how they changed that, isn't it?
it would be except for the fact that the Slither isn't a Dalek mutant. It's a creature that was supposed to be some sort of pet that the Black Dalek had. With the exception of the very first Dalek story (they were called Dals in that one) they have always been known as Kaleds. Hope that clears that up.
the vid is awesome but the song doesn't go with it maybe you should put a song like "one step closer" or "in the end" by linkin park or another song by someone else
The daleks lost their gravitational pull so they couldn't contol where they went so they were bashing into things and falling down things. And the 1 being crushed was because it had already died, but it just melted or got crushed my somthing
to be honest, the tv version of invasaion earth was very poor, to be honest, crap. the film version puts it back on track though, and its so much better!
He sure is. That's Mr. Bernard Cribbins. If you pay careful attention to the episodes of the new series, you will notice quite a few actors and actress returning from their early days as characters in Doctor Who
peter cushing was in loads of HAMMER HORROR films all made in UK. these daleks are the coolest looking. bernard cribbens is the policeman, he was in the railway children. ah thanx KAMINARI you way cooooooooool!
It would have been cool if they would have arranged the daleks like cones on a DMV test course and the truck driver ran arounf the robots like a driving student does.
Addind to my last comment, Peter Cushing played Dr Frankenstein as a mysterious, single minded, near mad, excentric genious & Proff Van Heslsing also had the same qualities but he was heroic as well. He really would have been the perfect Doctor if only he had played DR Who the same way.
Peter Cushing could have been one of the best Doctors ever, even as good as Jon Pertwee if he had played him like he played Dr Frankenstein or Proffessor Van Helsing, instead of playing him like a doddery scenile old man.
Why do most of the daleks in the movies have claws instead of suckers and why do some have suckers is due to the rank of a dalek or what explain I'm a doctor who expert but that has always confused me please someone answer
The director wanted to advance the daleks somehow, basicly he wanted daleks to pick things up easily but suppose he was lazy by not letting daleks have suckers .
This is a film version of the TV series. It's widely available in the Dr. Who Collection DVD set. Considered vastly inferior to the TV series. I'm debating over buying it myself since it's kind of cheap.
I kinda have a soft spot for these ol' Doctor Who Films.
