  • still brings me to tears to this day rip owen

  • it was really killing jeff jarret because he was owen's tag team partner

  • damn some of these dudes were crying.

  • sad but not as emotional as eddies 10 bell salute

  • @spinnernetfan1 yea but they messed it up with that wack ass johnny cash song owens tribute video was better

  • AND all the HBK haters, Hunter was a big of part as Montreal as Shawn was and u see him perhaps making the most heartfelt contribution..Montreal was nothing more then someone not wanting to put someone over with unfortunate timing..IF that had happened during anyother time in history, no screwjob would have needed to take place!!!

  • AND TAKER AND KANE both were not there, Kane was in the business for 10 years and had finally caught a break with his character and could not risk breaking Kayfabe. Taker was In Calgary with Bret making sure he was alright...Jeez u people should read a book before you rant

  • Owen was the real best there is was and ever will be..Tears watching this and Im glad it was the highest rated program ever as is showd how beloved Owen was. I was also 12 years old and I was all confused about Over the Edge and I didnt believe when it happened until the next night...This day, above Benoit and Eddy, was the worst day in the history of Pro Wrestling...HBK said it best. Owen was the only person who you could have a two hour show about with noone saying anything bad!

  • If owen lived....he could've won the WWE Championship...

  • @Khan007440 Without doubt bro.

  • I was 12 as well in 1999 and I grew up watching Owen from 5-12 and just from those 7 years I respected him so much being a Canadian, and I cried like a baby at the very end when it said in Memory of Owen.

  • Stephanie was so cute when she was younger.

  • Nugget!!!

  • i remember watching this at home i was crying a lot i was 12

  • @mopaomokonzi78

*Cries* I fear I will die like Owen Hart. I shattered my ankle and I've never been the same.

But I am in severe pain every day of my life.

I take my hat off to Owen Hart, and I will fight on until the end.

I'm not well, but I won't quit that easily.

    God Bless Owen

  • RIP OWEN HART

  • Holy shit, I remember being in highschool and my girlfriend at the time was sitting next to me when I watched this tribute.

This is the first time I've seen this since then and after so many years it still brings tears to my face.

    R.I.P Owen

  • Who the heck disliked this!!!!!!!!R.I.P Owen Hart

  • i guess the WWF didnt need a super hero after all. He shudda stuck to being the rocket, then he might not have fallen to his death, i mean what kind of super hero falls only 78 feet or so and dies?. Only one - The Blue blazer.

  • Who would dislike this and why

  • @messa7001 Late Owens wife

  • You may have died in your prime (even before your prime, some people may say) but you will never be forgotten, Owen!)

Fuck Triple H, You are "The Game"!

  • If think some of these wwf wrestlers could look a little bit more respectful after the loss of a a fellow wrestler

  • why werent hbk and taker there?

  • @wwescsazz I dont know about HBK but i know they felt undertakes character was not suitable to be there, which is kinda stupid.

  • @sparko98 yeah man, all the superstars were there, whats so special about taker? i mean its a friend who died. just show some respect.

  • @wwescsazz I am showing respect i am just saying someone organising it thought a guy known as a undertake wasn't suitable to be there. I think he should have been there but out of costume though.

  • @sparko98 i didnt mean you werent showing respect. i mean undertaker should;ve shown some respect.

  • @wwescsazz Oh sorry then but i am pretty sure he wanted to be there. but i don't know.

  • @wwescsazz I"m pretty sure going to the funeral is showing respect, so Undertaker still should have shown respect??

  • @masterpete24 yea its like everyone can how there respect n letting there gimmicks go but undertaker cant thats so gay

  • @sparko98 yeah i think your right, thats probably why you never see taker in the audience at hall of fame ceremonies etc, RIP Owen, 11 years later and this still brings a tear to my eye

  • OWEN! OWEN! OWEN! OWEN! OWEN! OWEN! OWEN! OWEN! OWEN! OWEN! OWEN! OWEN! OWEN! OWEN! OWEN! OWEN! OWEN! OWEN! OWEN! OWEN! OWEN! OWEN! OWEN! OWEN! OWEN! OWEN! OWEN! OWEN! OWEN! OWEN! OWEN! OWEN! OWEN! OWEN! OWEN! OWEN! OWEN! OWEN! OWEN! OWEN! OWEN! OWEN! OWEN! OWEN! OWEN! OWEN! OWEN! OWEN! OWEN! OWEN!!!!

  • I think it was a crime that he didnt hold the wwf tittle at some point, he had everything. Watching mark henry burst into tears had me going, 11 yrs on and never forgotten. r.i.p Owen.

  • I Remember this, when I was 14. he School Showing Newspaper Owen Died in May 99, My Friend's Tape Recorder Yesterday on Sky Sport. At Break Time in School We Watching this WWF Monday Night Raw!

  • i live in st. louis and went to this i will never forget this night

  • I remember watching this live that night. It was so sad and I was crying alot.. I was only 15 or so.

  • What year was that ?

  • @Qwertzslayer May 24, 1999

  • Next month it'll be 11 years

  • Vince is the devil straight up.

  • 10 matches on RAW. Today's Raw we get like 4 sometimes 5 matches. Then there's just stupid promos

  • that was normally the case during this periodas well. But how you were able to focus on a petty thing like that during a video like this is beyond my understanding.

  • @Mr1990Noah

    and that a bad thing

  • @mikefromstrasburg yes. I wanna see wrestling. not stupid segments and promos

  • @Mr1990Noah

That what the PPV are for

  • are they chanting rocky as he looks around?

  • I think they were chantin for Owen; that would be more obvious.

  • i actually cried while watching this episode. rip,we love you owen.

  • Who wasnt? Owen wasnt a total country face like his brother, he was loved around the world.

  • me too

  • I remember watching this, May, 99

  • vince was behind it

  • I haven't watched wrestling in years, but I still remember watching Owen when I grew up, and he was always great. This definitely brought a lot of tears to my eyes.

  • rock was an ass back then he's acting like he doesn't give a shit about owen even though owen was friend of him in the nation team .. respect 4 mic foley and triple h

  • how is he acting like an ass you fucking idiot?and he did respect Owen, stupid ass

  • Your a idiot.

  • it still brings some quiet tears to my eyes... He was awesome, both as an athlete and as an human being.

It's so sad that WWE didn't allow Owen to join other great wrestlers in the WWE Hall of Fame, and that they didn't pay tribute to him via a great DVD collection with some of his greatest matches, interviews, promos und sequences where other wrestlers talk about him.

  • Yeah. I cry at times too.

  • This should have made it into the Raw 15th Anniversary DVD.

  • they couldn't because owen harts wife didnt want to be any were involved with the wwe

  • No, they didn't not because Martha doesn't want Owen in the HOF, they didn't because they have to invite her to hold a speech about her husband, and so they are afraid Martha would use the chance to tell the world how she feels about the wwe, and so they are afraid WWE fans could be confused about the things she COULD say... but she wouldn't that I am sure of. She wouldn't stain a memory event with stories which are buried long ago, she just would say what a great man Owen was.

  • R.I.P. Owen! You are greatly missed! Me and my fellow wrestling fans shed tears for you!

  • What tha hell do ypou want man? He is dead, why dont you belive it?

    R.I.P Owen.

  • R.I.P Owen

    We'll always love you

  • RIP OWEN HART

  • Today is the 10 year anniversary of Owen Hart's death. This is still one of the saddest times in history. God bless Owen Hart. Owen Hart 1965-1999. RIP

  • i cant believe it's been ten years i'm crying now as i watch this this is so emotional we miss you owen R.I.P

  • If the legacy of a mans life is measured by the lives hes touched and how much he is loved then a big piece of Owen Hart will live on in all of us

  • shane was standing with other wrestlers

  • i have freakin tears in my eye......R.I.P. OWEN

  • we want owen in the hall of fame! hes one many titles but to me thats the biggest title u can ever win to truely be immortalized!

  • Owen is RAW !

    RIP

  • Where was Shane Macmahon for this?

  • My god, this is the biggest tear jerker moment in pro wrestling history... what a sad moment in time

  • RIP

  • r.i.p owen we love u and we miss u god bless u

  • how did he die

  • A stunt accident at over the edge 1999.

  • rip owen hart. he was a real legend. some of the moves he pulled off were so impresive

  • RIP Owen Hart.

    God bless you, Owen.

  • they should put him in the HALL OF THE FAME,ITS BEEN 10 YEARS NOW.

  • his wife doesnt want his name no longer assoicated with the WWE.

  • that sucks cause anyone who knows the type of man Owen was,hed want it that way, look at his brother Brett he was inducted already, hed want it for Owen as well, man this is a sad fuckin video,i still tear up every time!

  • But you have to understand how she feels, i mean the WWE/WWF whatever you like to call it, it took her husband's life away, and if you have remarked, almost every wrestler's son becomes a wrestler.

Ted Dibiase JR. and Ted Dibiase, Cody Rhodes and Dusty Rhodes.

I think she either doesn't want anything from the people who killed Owen

Or she is afraid that if she gets in contact with WWE again her son will like it and think of having a career there.

I still hope Owen gets inducted though.

  • ur right he was awesome

  • this still makes me cry. miss you owen.

  • 20 bucks says owen and eddie got together and hid god's slippers and jesus' nails. Lol.

  • the reason the undertaker isnt there is because he is a good friend of bret harts and flew out straight away to be with the hart family

  • <3 GOD BLESS OWEN HART <3

  • vince mcmahon did a great job with the tribute.... he said so many heart warming words..... but they just make you cry =(

  • Owen should be inducted in the HOF this year.

  • rip owen. i miss you

  • all wrestler were there, except Undertaker

  • owen needs to be in the hall of fame.

  • not up to the WWE. his wife does not want Owen's legacy to go into the hall of fame

  • if he was alive and if he was still wrestling he would be in tna rigt now and him and kurt angle would have a great match

  • owen wanted to retire, thats what makes his death even more tragic...

  • great video man thanks..........

    Owen Hart lives 4ever

  • Who was that on Farooq's right? Christian? I know The Brood were there (but Taker wasn't, for kayfabe), but that's been touched on - so rarely is kayfabe broken, but this is a perfect reason for it. There wasn't anyone like Owen.

  • thats rodney from mean street posse

  • THis happened years ago and I am still crying

we still miss you Owen always

  • same here..

  • I remember watching this..I was teared up as well when watching this.

  • owen is the legend and a great man!i just can't say how much i wanted at least to speak with him just a couple of seconds!!!too bad the great people like him die because of a stupid accident!!!OWEN YOU'LL BE FOREVER MISSED R.I.P

  • I remember watching this on Sky Sports all those years and have nver been so upset & sad about one human being. Over the years I have come to realise that Owen was not just a wrestler...He was a legend and he will live on in every wrestling fans heart. R.I.P Owen

  • Who are those fucks behind the King and Jim?

  • I know. What the hell? That angers me.

  • I had the pleasure of meeting Owen on the morning of Wrestlemania 10, before his big match with Bret that night. He was sticking to his heel gimmick and we had a shouting match, he was telling me how he was going to beat Bret that night. I was about 10-11 years old at the time and I hated him so much.

I wish he was still alive, I wish this accident never happened. R.I.P. Owen - you are missed and I thank you for the memories.

  • even the heel superstars pay respect. shows they are down to earth people. bein heels is just a gimmick in wrestling. not real life.

  • this rarely happens in wwe : kayfabe is broken. heel or face the wrestlers are all people and have emotions.

  • it's such a shame he died the way he did....when he wrestled it was a piece of art one of the best wrestlers ever.....owen hart and steve austin in hall of fame 2009 in houston texas

  • If Owen Hart Isn't ever elected in WWE's Hall of Fame, I will be pissed.

  • On a LiveWire in 1999, a caller asked Kevin Kelly a question about how will Owen be remembered, and I remember Kelly saying that Owens legacy will be remembered and he will one day no doubt be inducted in the WWF Hall of Fame. It looks like that is never going to happen. Here we are 9 years later, and the WWF have never at least released a video/DVD on the life and career of Owen Hart! Pathetic how quickly the WWE tries to forget about its past! Yet the WWE releases a DVD about the Warrior!

  • I would think the reason that he isn't in the hall of fame is because of Martha. Not saying that Martha is a bad person by any means, but I think that it would be distasteful to Martha if anything is put out with Owen's name on it to profit besides compilation sets.

  • because martha owens widow doesnt want wwe to. idk y but she didnt like the way he had 2 die. in 2004 when wwe revived the hof vince wanted him to be the 1st inducted. but the harts hate the mcmahons especially over the montreal screwjob. bret forgives wwe the others dont

  • They released a book about Owen Hart called "Broken Harts" Life and Death of Owen Hart, it is a fantastic book, i am currently reading it

  • theres actually a book on owen hart... it was released a few years ago.... i looked for it every where and i finally found it... i am currently reading it and it is amazing

  • its because owens wife doesnt want his name to be assiocated with WWE

  • when people say the undertaker was not there if you pause it at 1:43. Is that taker and is that paul bearer in front of him

    RIP owen hart

  • That probably is the Undertaker who you are referring to. Regardless of whether that man is really him or not, Taker was present during the 10 bell salute, it has been reported numerous times that Taker was standing as far back to the rear as possible to remain in character/kayfabe.

  • i only see bearer

  • he is two spots behind bearer I believe

  • R.I.P

Owen Hart a.k.a The King Of Harts

  • You know, he was supposed to get his big push after that night, and when chris was changed to ecw he was going to get his big push. I mean they are different situation but it's weird...

  • You guys need help. Acting like a bunch of idiots and making fools of yourself on this site... good job...

  • Cannabisboi Shut Up and learn to spell btw. It was nobody's fault, You think McMahon striked the cable to let Owen drop with his powers? NO! And people do not get that Owen was happy about this gimmick. He wanted to do this stunt. So shut up and stop talking about: Oh em gee, its all Vinces fault, im a stupid bastard who does not know anything but how to say crap i dont know

  • Mike Adamle has spoken.

  • this still almost gets me in tears owen one of the greatest performers ever

  • owen should have been a world champion.owen in the hall of fame

  • RIP MY HERO

    WE WLWAYS LOVE YOU

  • austin ended that show perfect...having a beer then leaving on open can in the middle of the ring for owen

  • was that mark henry crying?

  • Yes.

  • i was watching this on ppv when i was 12.. i had watched bret and owen as they were my favorite wrestlers and i didnt know how to take it.. it was a sad time for me being just a kid and hearing about the sudden death of one of my idols.. r.i.p owen hart

  • but i'm not saying it's not vince's fault he died

cause that basterd made him do something that owen wasn't even comfortable with in the first place.

    it's sad how people are.

    RIP

    owenhart<3

  • well you can't really get on vince cause of that, i mean yeah that was wrong to just continue the show, and yeah what if it was aired but it wasn't thank god,

i mean what if you went to the show payed a lot of money on those tickets and the show was canceled and you spent alot of money or traveled from half way across the world for that on ppv wouldn't you be pissed, yeah you would be shocked and devastated at the same time but a lot of people payed a lot of money of it at the show or at home

  • thats just a bunch of BULL. what do you make out wwf fans to be??? fanatics? heartless people?? they WOULD HAVE WITHOUT A DOUBT agreed to a cancelled show considering that owen hart died. EVERYONE i have ever spoken wouldn't have hesitated.

  • no not really but still you never know

some people do have a heart

and some people are just damn wrong

and plus the crowd didn't even know that owen died till the show was over.

only the people that were watching at home knew

so nobody at the arena knew what was going on.

you never know what could of have happened.

thats probably why vince had to continue it.

  • thats the point.. the crowd didn't know. coz they didn't stop the match...noone was told.. had they told them they would have SURELY..wrestling fans are some of the most loyal fans ever. they might seem crazy but deep down they have deep respect for what these atheletes do.

  • true.

    but still no one knew.

and they had to keep the show going.

  • again thats the point . noone knew so they didn't say anything. now the point was that the match wasn't stopped by wwf and THEN the fans would've agreed to it, not that it wasn't stopped by the audience.

  • Why, exactly, did they have to keep the show going?

  • because vince wanted the people in the arena to keep buying more food and merchandise, so more money would go in his back pocket. the man thrives on greed

  • So like I said, they didn't have to keep it going. Everyone would have accepted it if they knew.

  • YEP LOL

  • not everyone.

yeah wwe fans are very loyal. but some fans arn't

i mean don't get me wrong or anything if i were to be there and they just stopped the show i would be like oh, wow i can't even believe that happened you know and i would of accepted.

but some people probably had there life savings for that one ticket that person would want there money back, sometimes some people don't understand that person, but i guess you had to be that person.

  • the simple fact of the matter is, vince is to blame owens dead and he has to live with it for the rest of his life, he would not let owen go to wcw when owen wanted to go after bret got screwed over by hbgay and mcmahon. he kept owen there to get one over on bret, if he let owen go to wcw, then owen would never have died. ye he would probalby have a shit run in wcw with bischoffs disaster booking.but atleast he would be alive

  • Yeah, and I can blame misspelled words on my keyboard!!!

You are a fucktard to the inth degree!!!

If you REALLY think Vince would purposely put workers in serious danger you are beyond stupid!

  • i can never forgive vince for continuing the ppv, after something as tragic as that why did he continue the ppv??? what if the fall was caught on tape and aired to the world??? would it have been stopped??? for his decision i have never watched the wwf/e product after the "RAW is OWEN" tribute... LONG LIVE OWEN HART!!!

  • @jonzey0 - Do u think Vince would have ran the show on if Shane had fallen? no offense but if Bret can get over it, then you can...he was cleared of all charges and while i dont agree with what Vince did either I still watch and support WWE.

  • The darkest day in wrestling history May 23, 1999.

  • my dads birthday was on the 24th so it was the tribute day show.... and my dad expected me to be happy on his birthday but i was just crying the whole day.... i just didnt talk to anyone..... i was to upset..... my dad was curious why i was so upset on his birthday and i told him the reason why..... so unexpectingly.... he starting crying a bit too... on his birthday.... the 24th of 1999 was the saddest day of my life

  • mine 2 cuz it is my bday as well it hurt me but i was honored to have this on my bday cuz of the respect owen deserved

  • i remember watching raw is owen.. it was so upsetting watching it

it was nothing like eddie's or benoit's death.. it was an accident that could have been prevented

    Never forgotten

    R.I.P Owen

  • wow look how young stephanie is there

  • RIP

  • I want to know why undertaer was not out on the ramp during this time???

  • Well his gimmick is to be a "Dead man" and name is THE UNDERTAKER, so I guess they didnt want someone like that during a tribute show for someone that died a day earlier.

  • he never is when someone dies

  • he never is when someone dies

  • he went to visit bret to see how he and the hart family was doing

  • What about Shane Mcmahon? I dont think i see him on the ramp either

  • You can see him at 4:54, he just wasn't standing with his family.

  • yeah he was with bret

  • Man, I was a freshman in high school when he fell. back then I used to watch wrestling alot, and I still remember that day. RIP Owen. You trully are the King of the Ring, and we'll miss you.
