  • TheFreebornFanatic @paularenas26 – “ wish you luck on actually speaking with God...even though he never will. Yanno, cuz he's not real.”

@TheFreebornFanatic – I speak to Jesus Christ everyday. He is alive and well. Don’t let Bill Maher persuade you otherwise.

  • @paularenas26 Oh, wait. You're right, I just saw Jesus and God walking hand in hand down the sidewalk yesterday. Sorry about that!

  • Amen to Bill Maher for doing Gods will without trying, he is helping to start the persecution of Christians in America, keep it up Bill you are helping to make Bible Prophecy come true.

  • I never watched this film, but does anyone know if Bill got around to interview christian apologists or theologians? Bill asks some good questions but I don't think he's asking people than can answer his questions.

  • I almost died from laughing at te first 55 seconds

  • I heared : I was God before God , maybe iz s God before good ?

  • dear mr adverse, i would like to thank you for your concern in my well being and dismay with the human condition. i appreciate your wanting to listen to me while i espouse on the immoral and perverse behavior that alot of people such as yourself have decided to imprint on the youth of this fine world. i am good and comfortable in how i feel aout my own sexuality. as a concerned human i just ask you to please have your partner use a condom before fucking you in the ass. better safe than sorry

  • Technically we need the devil so we possess the freewill to choose between good and evil, without the devil and his badassness we could only do good.

But yeah I agree about the whole natural occurrences/disaster things, that just plain dickish.

  • hey asshole when you get the point when you start wishing death on someone because they call you out on your homosexuality and desire to suck a cock then its time to reflect on your priorities in life. just leave this forum and go to a harvey milk video okay sperm eater. good night

  • @platotroy You seem to have a problem with homosexuality, is there something you wish to talk about? uncle suckAdick is here to listen.

  • Having said that, Bill is for the death penalty, he told Henry Rollins. And jealoussy is sometimes justified.

  • What is that thing hanging from his face? It looks like a trunk. Here's a practical question. How many ZICAMS do you think he has to purchase to clear each nostril when he has a cold? 12 or 13?

  • when you go from religous to atheist to spiritual. you realize how ignorant atheism is.

  • You may say what if he is trying yto shut him up from tellling the truth

  • See Bill Maher is wrong at 7.50 when he say why cant God just destroy the devil and get everything over with, you know why because if you had a son and no matter how mad he is would you hate him, would you destroy him, no because he is your son and you love him. Even, if his was to destroy the devil others will question was the devil right that why good shut him up. Also, have you ever saw someone argue with some one and the person does what ever he can to stop him from talking.

  • himna whatever the hell your name is. first off i really appreciate the fact that you would take the time from your important schedule and life to honor me with a reply. second, you obviously suffer from some case of beaten child syndrome or maybe even having sucked cocks most of your life and for that reason you dont have a higher belief. you my friend are a pathetic excuse of a living soul. please dont take out your sexual proclivities on people who comment on this board. you fuck off prick

  • @platotroy I don't quite understand what makes me a pathetic excuse of a living soul. You have no basis for anything stupid conclusions you're jumping to. Please do us all a favor and play in traffic. I guarantee a closed-minded douchebag such as yourself won't be missed by a single person on this planet.

  • poor thadeus is hurt because he hates everyone who comes against queer enablers such as this animal maher...maher your day with the Lord is coming real soon....you nasty americans worship filthy perverts like maher and make him rich as he spews his filth and hate and nonsense..no wonder america is going down the drain.

  • @doomedamerica Religion=Ignorance

  • where can i start to describe this piece of shit excuse for a man. he is arrogant, ugly both physically and emotionally. he has absolutely no semblance of decency to speak of. a typical blow hard and someone who needs some love in his life. fuck off maher and stick it up your ass.

  • @platotroy "fuck off maher and stick it up your ass" doesn't exactly sound like a statement from someone who has love in their life, you fuck. I believe you are what we call ignorant and closed-minded. Good luck getting far in life with that going for you.

  • maher the epitomie of fag jew enabler atheist!...wow what a list and he calls tebow these vile names..cuz maher youre satans rep on the demonic boob tube ,and to all goofy christians who support hbo fag filth youre going to Hell also....maher,your days are numbered by GOd,he is watching you....you represent the worst of america, the good news is the bible explains people like you perfectly..animal rights, atheists fag enabler and vile all go hand hand, repent soon maher, real soon of your fag filth

  • @doomedamerica You preach the word of God at it's finest!... Unfortunately if you could think rationally and see what you've just written, you'll find that you are a sick disgusting human being.

  • @doomedamerica People like you are what's wrong with the world. Do us all a favor and shut the hell up, you trashy, racist, douchebag.

  • Bill Maher is an ignorant disrespectfull asshole, who if he had it his way, we would all be in the woods hugging a tree while petting a rabbit and butt fucking a child. What a douche.I will enjoy looking down in the pit while he suffers.

  • @christianman504 Really? Because it seems to me that all he says is that he doesn't know where we came from (nor does anyone else) and he's not afraid to admit it. Not to mention that he repeatedly said that he made certain to not try and offend anyone.

It seems pretty clear that he is a more morally good person than you, without the aid of some deity.

  • larry kings a douche

  • Dear Bill and to all the other" free thinkers" on this forum. You may not confess Jesus as Lord here on earth and that is your decision, but you will confess He is Lord in Heaven, just before you are condemned....see ya there.

  • @tjloden Did you forgot to take your pills?

  • @tjloden Do you have any proof to support this claim, sir?

  • @tjloden OoOoOoo Spooky!

  • Atheism is a word used by the ignorant, by people who are afraid to challenge centuries of propaganda. "Atheists" are more-accurately "clear thinkers who realize that Santa Claus and Jesus Christ are tools used to control the ignorant."

  • @Crust218 SANTA..NOOOOOOO!!!

  • @Crust218 Agreed

  • @Crust218 ... and gullible. ;)

  • @Crust218 Atheist are the most arrogant, self inportant, smug, know it all, uptigh douchebags in the world.

  • omg "you don't have to pass an IQ test to be in the senate" HAHA

  • Mark Pryor is a freakin idiot...lol lol

  • real men hate jesus

  • R.I.P Mr. Hitchens

  • Shelly your partial knowledge of the bible is killing your faith.

  • But something I forgot to add that it really doesnt matter how morale you are here on earth because no one will see God without the blood of Jesus and that only comes through believing in him and repenting. So you can be as good as you want and it wont matter unless you accept Him as your sacirfice, really what do you have to lose except for eternal condemnation.

  • Ok..heres one for you if we are all evolving why havent we evolved to the point we no longer age or how bout we no longer have the potential for murder or hatred...hmmm could it be because we have a curse on us since Genesis....seems like if anything we are degenerating....i dont know maybe we will get it right in another 4.5 billion years....c mon are you serious????

  • @tjloden Maybe we just haven't evolved to that point yet, or maybe we never will. Isn't that a possibility?

  • Shellyyou need to check your stats dear, my wife works in a prison and the folks there arent christians until after they've been there and been witnessed to by true believers. And I totally disagree that atheist are more moral than true christian believers trying to live by the word of God and not just mans laws which by the way came from the bible. As for the classes we need to take Ive had plenty of higher level biology and science classes that only make the case for intelligent design.

  • @tjloden The word of God tells us to kill our children if they misbehave or disrespect us. The word of God told us to commit genocide against 60 cites. The word of God told us its ok to have slaves. The word of God told Abraham to sacrafice his son. I could go on. These are not the kind of words and morality that I want to live my life by. It's funny how Christians live by the warm and fuzzy words of God, but not the horrific ones.

  • @tjloden There are just as many people who call themselves Christian that are completely hypocritical to their supposed beliefs, as there is criminal atheists. Just as much as there is good moral Christians, & good moral people who choose to have no religion in their lives. A relationship with god isn't the only part of having a good moral compass. Just as not having one, isn't the only thing that leads people astray. As if you've never done wrong yourself.

  • @tjloden Murderers in jails were usually born psychopaths or have seen such massive trauma in their lives that it drove them to those behaviors. Most of the other small time criminals who claim to have "found god" while in jail, will probably get out, and once they can't find a job will go right back to the way they were before.

  • What is it with people thinking that Atheists are immoral and that they're not held accountable for their actions? The law holds them accountable. An Atheist isn't going to go kill someone just because they don't believe they're going to hell for it. The majority of prison inmates are "Christian" and only a fraction of a one percent are Atheists. So don't say that Atheists aren't moral. If anything, Atheists are more moral than Christians.

  • You truly have to be a fool to think that we're the only intelligent life in the universe. Religious people have a hard time thinking outside the God box to know what is fact and what is fantasy. There are still people who believe the earth is flat, the earth revolves around the sun, and that the earth is only 5000 years old. We're not living in the middle age people. Open your mind a little and do some research. Read a book other than the bible or take an astronomy class.

  • I honestly though dont even believe the real problem with atheist is faith. We will never have the answer in stone. I believe the real problem is plain and simple they dont want to give up their immorality and coming to Jesus ask you to repent. As long is their is no God then they cant be held accountable. Its easier to live as you want as long as you have no one to answer to. We will see one day how that works out for ya.

  • You truly have to be a fool to believe that the earth did not have a designer, that it was just all an accident. Wow Bill it takes more faith to believe that than it does to believe Adam and Eve in the garden with a talking snake! Because the alternative is that we just crawled out of a mud hole one day, cmon are you serious! If the earth was just a few miles closer or farther away from the sun it couldnt sustain life, accident???? cmon you cant be serious, that is design bro!!

  • Dont yall get it....its not about this place...yes the earth is gorgeous God originally made it perfect and our sinful natures have corrupted it, and with sin comes curses and thats what you see around you...there is no life here to have, its all about heaven, its all about Jesus. You can ask why all you want, why would God?, but you see he gets to make the rules not you, and he as appointed it to be this way. You have a choice, before you lies life and death choose life, choose Jesus.

  • all of you atheists probably get all of your info on the bible by looking up bible contradictions on google

  • @xXKoreAMbalaXx So what if they do?...it's not going to say anything different if they read the Bible.

  • @afshinkiyani Yes guess that interview pretty much sums up that whole exhistance of God thing, glad thats resolved.

  • The bible says that if a man says in his heart there is no God he is a fool . I would hate to be him on his death bed. Tell me people how it is you can drive down the road and look at the beauty of this place and say there is no God, or even better look at your children and say there is no God. Do you just choose to believe that way because you dont want to give up your lifestyles and it just makes it easier. Well if im wrong ive lost nothing but if your wrong well you know.God bless

  • @tjloden I'm sure all the people in third world countries probably have a lot of beauty to look at too. While they're all dying from disease and starvation. Fun times. I'm sure they all look around and think to themselves, how can a place this beautiful not have been created by a benevolent God? -_-

  • I like Maher's remarks starting at 2:09! That was filmed in Heaven, had to get special permits (and you think the Chinese are rough!)!

  • @frtw4428 Yes very witty and a great public speaker....hmmm but you know what so was Adolph Hitler.

  • Bill Maher should be ashamed of himself and one day he shall bow before God and confess He is Lord, but then it will be too late.

  • @tjloden I don't care if you're religious, but don't come onto a video that supports Atheism and say thee man supporting it is going to a non-existent hell.

  • @WyattsChannel Well I do care if you are going to that nonexhistent hell and its my prayer that you will spend time searching to make sure you are right because your eternity depends on it. If I am wrong ive lost nothing but if your wrong youve lost everything. Oh and last time I checked Youtube is all about freedom of speech brother. God bless

  • @tjloden You're a dumb ass. Don't reproduce more stupid religious people please.

  • @tjloden Why should Bill Maher be ashamed? The ignorant people of Christianity should be ashamed of themselves for perverting Jesus's teachings.

  • Bottom line. This Bill Maher purposely avoided interviewing Ravi Zacharias. I think we all know why.

  • well you have to swear on the bible when you get voted into office, so they would have to change that , but they won't. (to be an atheist and be in office)

  • Bill Maher is compliant to the system, he is not courageous or original. BTW I'm agnostic.

  • Christ is the son/part of the god head; the trinity. Therefore Christ=god.

  • I asked Jesus to make my internet work because I had some serious issues with my wireless router. In the heat of the moment and my desperate state , I promised that I would be a good believer if only he would make my internet work, I had been on the phone with support for an hour at this point and God knows the Rich ( Rishiyani), the support guy from India makes it hard as hell with his bad english. So few minutes later, for no reason my internet was back on. So "praise Jesus!" I got internet!

  • @besicmusik

i believe the term for you is "retard" ;)

  • @ThePunisherNWO Bottom line. This Bill Maher purposely avoided interviewing Ravi Zacharias. I think we all know why.

  • @besicmusik So, newborn girl is born with the horrible deformity of not having a face, who's family supports this country by serving in the military. A family who also believes in God.

Jesus decides that instead of helping this good family with their daughters horrible condition, that you should get internet instead. Yeah...makes sense.

  • @RiotDragonX The question is why is anyone born with any deformity? If you believe in God , then you should accept that God made them be that way. It's not my fault God finds me and my internet issues important. Now since I am afraid that you do not understand my comments as punds, I will spell it out for you. I am trying to make a point that God does not exist and I don't believe in it/him/her.People are born when a man and a woman have sex and woman's egg is fertilized with sperm...uh, whatev!

  • @besicmusik Ah, so you don't believe in God, and you're just a retarded troll. Got it. :] Have fun with your 'punds'.

  • i bet my comment is the shortest

  • @piemuo88 Nuh uh...

  • People dismiss God and Godliness because they interview people who have no idea what they're talking about.

It's lazy and easy to do that.

Talk to someone like William Lane Craig. Then tell me what you think.

  • I Wish Bill Maher Would Make A Documentary About The ILLUMINATI !

  • The bible, and all other religious books, were written by man. We all know how devious, conniving, and full of shit humans are. So the question I have is how can so many billions of people buy into this? Is it because people, who are believers, had their god chosen for them by their parents and never had the option of saying thanks but no thanks? Do believers have some sort of a warm and comforting feeling being part of a large group? Is that why large blankets are called "comforters"?

  • @clownsfartconfetti I guess I can't answer that because I am not one of the people you are referring to. I don't believe that everything I was told by my childhood religion about god is true and I am not part of an organized religion so I don't have comfort by being part of a large group. I also don't believe that everything in the bible is true because man is fallible and possibly misunderstood god some of the time. Why must you box all believers into those paradigms?

  • @Brett9897 What were the circumstances that led you be a believer? When did it happen? What or who influenced you? Which parts of the bible do you believe in, if any? Just curious. I like having these discussions with civil adults but they often end with one party being upset or angry, which is not my goal.

  • There wasn't an exact circumstance. Just lifelong thought experiments. I was raised Catholic and then I went to a Jesuit high school. The Jesuit style of teaching faith is to make everyone they can an atheist by the end of freshman year it felt like. They always told us if you can't find god on your own by constantly questioning the world around you then you aren't a true believer. So I was atheist for quite some time. Then in college I moved back to agnostic. Wasn't sure if god existed.

  • @clownsfartconfetti and honestly I didn't really care to put any effort into thinking about it. Then I took a philosophy class and we started discussing arguments for god and I started thinking about it more. I read Charles Babbage's Ninth Bridgewater Treatise and his thoughts of god as a divine programmer. I guess around then I moved to deist. Eventually I made my way back to Christian because the model of Jesus rang true with what appears to me to be innate morality.

  • @Brett9897 Infinite punishment for finite crimes rings as innate morality? Jesus spoke more of hell than he did of heaven.

So you looked at the arguments for god and read a book about arguments for god and you still believe in god? Ever heard of confirmation bias? (something that should have been covered in your philosophy class)

Even if Jesus was a moral teacher this does nothing to confirm that he was the son of a deity. This is a logical fallacy (Another you missed in philosophy class)

  • @VeritasLuxMea100 Treat people well and you should have no worries of an infinite punishment. It is inconsequential to me.

I said I was agnostic by the time I started learning about the arguments for god. I was still agnostic when I read Charles Babbage's work and I did not read it as an attempt to prove to myself there was a god. Not sure where you came to confirmation bias conclusion. I read it because I was interested in Charles Babbage.

  • @Brett9897 >>>Treat people well and you should have no worries of an infinite punishment.

That is not what Jesus preached.

Perhaps not a confirmation bias I missed where you said you were an atheist for quite some time. Can I ask what arguments in particular convinced you?

  • @VeritasLuxMea100 Also I never stated that Jesus was the son of a deity. I never stated Jesus being a moral teacher concluded that Jesus was the son of a deity. It would be helpful if you stopped the straw man arguments.

  • @Brett9897 No but you did claim to now be a christian (>> Eventually I made my way back to Christian) Perhaps Christian is not the correct label for you as Christian is someone who follows the teachings of christ, Jesus claimed to be the son of god, if you believe his teachings you must believe he is the son of god or you have disregarded some of his teachings. Can you please clarify?

  • @clownsfartconfetti As far as the bible goes, I can't believe that it is 100% accurate. I would say I mainly follow the New Testament. I feel that even though all of the stories might be strictly factual they are probably fairly close on most of it and in general Jesus appears to be an agent of god showing us that we had lost our way and we needed to treat others better.

  • @Brett9897 Thanks.

  • @Brett9897 Did you read the part where Jesus said not a dot nor a tittle of the law will fall away, I have not come to do away with the law but to fulfill the law? Without the Old testament there can be no new testament as Jesus is based on the Jewish messianic prophecies. Even if you simply adhere to his teachings Jesus preached about the law of moses and that it remains law. This means all of the 613 commandments not just the 10 you may be familiar with.

  • @VeritasLuxMea100 I don't how this is relevant. I never said I didn't believe anything in the Old Testament. I was simply stating that I don't believe in the fire and brimstone god that was portrayed in some of the books. Also not even all Jews believe in the 613 commandments. I simply stated I believe in a god as revealed through Jesus meaning a god that wants us to treat everyone with respect and dignity. As long as we are nice to others we will be rewarded.

  • @Brett9897 Fair point, I guess my next question would be then why refer to the bible at all? The golden rule was brought up by other prophets before Jesus. If you want to cherry pick that's fine but there is a whole lot more disturbing immoral teaching than there is good. Remember that in the old testament it was that same god that ordered tribes to massacre neighboring tribes including women and children but to keep the virgins for themselves.

  • @Brett9897 Okay, if you don't believe in the Bible, or believe all the propaganda given off by larger organized religions, then what is the basis for your beliefs? If you don't mind me asking.

  • anyone feeling like god is real! doesn't mean a fucking thing. as in NOTHING!

  • i feel like god and religion and creation etc... is truly beyond human comprehension

  • @Jmeez69 are you saying god and religion and creation understands more than us or are you saying humans cant understand it. ???

  • Watch the New World Infiltration of the Truth..... Maher is a tool

  • He says it best "The ultimate hustle". Morons unite in their beliefs!

  • I am a Buddhist and i completely agree with Maher, however i believe any religion founded on compassion and love for their fellow man can only do good , i think Christianity has lost sight of this and has more of a "with us or against us" mentality, but if you follow the religion to the text and you do not take the metaphors seriously i have no problem and neither should anyone else, for the absolute truth is none of us know for sure, and we can only go by what our hearts and minds tell us.

  • if the god character ever did really show up, he would send the christians to hell for relying on such a book and not relying on common sense. that's the god i believe in.

  • Bill Maher--- About as inferior as they come...

  • @kenspurling ken spurling. about as sad and pathetic a human being can be unfortunately. at least idiots like you define what is low in society.

  • @kenspurling People like you...about a stupid as they come...

  • Here we go again with another Hollywood Socially Liberal jerkoff that was born with a silver spoon, had mama and dada paving his way, I would bet little Maher always got what he wanted and NEVER DID WITHOUT. He's wealthy, has a lot of money and never struggled over groceries, paying bills or stress out over paying rent or mortgage. "Fashionably Liberal" ! Hypocrite

  • @2bdefacto maher grew up poor retard and worked his ass of to get were he was at u should watch his movie...

  • @paularenas26 I wish you luck on actually speaking with God...even though he never will. Yanno, cuz he's not real.

  • @TheFreebornFanatic – God and Jesus Christ are alive and well. Don’t let Bill Maher persuade you otherwise.

  • Look up the video called DMT the spirit molecule. Science is beginning to see how a spirit can exist. If spirits were ever proven objectively, what would happen to Atheism?

  • i just LUV that I.Q. part : )

  • Bill Maher = repugnant lefty socialist scum.

  • 0:20 The reason I'm agnostic and not avowedly atheist is because it could've been. That's the whole point of not knowing -- you really can't know. It's ridiculously unlikely that it was, but just because we don't understand something doesn't mean we should toss it away outright. Some day we might discover the truth. Until then, I put my faith in science, but won't shun the concepts behind religion.

  • @Motive11331 Because talking snakes are all the rage. *winks*

  • @TheFreebornFanatic I think that's total bull. I don't agree with the Bible at all. But the concept of a deity is not too far off. I'm hopeful that there's something good out there, but put all my faith into science until then.

  • Bill Maher! You bless your wife and children and they praise someone else or even just don't even acknowledge what you do for them at all, would that not provoke you to jealously and even maybe withdraw from such a family! !

  • I agree wtih Bill Maher...that is all.

  • Oh Bill It's nice to see you trying to defend your beliefs using just 5% of your brains capacity!!!!!

  • @underpedz818 *brain's.

  • If you believe in something for which there is no evidence and faith is all you have in it, and then you tell other people that it's the truth, you are lying. Even if it somehow fantastically turns out to be true, you're still lying if you have no evidence about which you're evangelizing.

  • @ChipArgyle I agree 100%. I'm tired of atheists lying and telling me that there isn't a god.

  • @BeBoBli Exactly and I believe there is a god but I don't go around telling people that is a fact. However a lot of atheists will tell me it is a fact that god doesn't exist. That is something that they believe but they try to pass it off as truth, which would mean they are just lying. I'm not confused at all. My church's creed says "We believe...". It doesn't say this is truth. The missionaries don't even say it is truth. They say this is what we believe. If you believe it too join us.

  • @Brett9897

Neither theist, deist or atheist they wouldn't be lying. You just wouldn't be able to test it's truthfulness with any scientific measurement. They all believe with varying degrees of certainty. I don't believe in the supernatural and I believe science is the best research tool for finding the truth as we know it. Therefore I do not share in these commonly held Christian beliefs: Yahweh/Jehovah, eternal second lives, Noah's Ark, Genesis and most all of the biblical tall tales.

  • @Brett9897 God was extra Terrestrial life visiting the planet a long time ago, do some research and some of your critical thinking and you will see this to be the most probable, intelligent design, absolutely.

  • @Brett9897 You should listen a little closer. What most atheists are saying is that they don't believe in any gods because they haven't been sufficiently won over because of a lack of evidence of those gods' existence.

True, some strong atheists state point blank, "There is no God, no how, no way." Most reserve the slight possibility that a god-like creature could exist, there's just no proof of it.

  • @ChipArgyle You should listen a little closer to reasonable Christians. Those of us that have brains will never say it is a fact that god exists. We just say we believe it. We will tell others what we believe and they can choose to accept it or not. My upbringing taught me to always be questioning my beliefs. If you aren't questioning them then you don't truly believe. Most people miss this aspect of faith and thus give the rest of us a bad name.

  • @Brett9897 Why would anyone choose to believe in something for which there is no evidence? Fear of death? Control over others? The arrogance of consciousness: "Now that I exist, how could I ever possibly not exist?"

If you read your Bible, you'll find that this God creature revealed himself directly to many people and asked them to believe in Him. If He's real, I demand the same treatment from Him. He must show Himself. Why should modern man be treated so unfairly? Makes no sense.

  • @ChipArgyle Everyone must believe in something for which there is no evidence. You seem to believe that reason leads you to know what is the truth. Why do you have such faith in reason when there is no proof that reason leads to truth. The only way to prove that reason leads to correct conclusions is by using reason. That is a circular argument, reason proves that reason works. Is it arrogance that leads you to believe that your faith in reason is superior to my faith in god and reason?

  • @Brett9897 "Everyone must believe in something for which there is no evidence." What? That's as close to perfectly insane as I've ever heard! Where did you come up with something so ridiculous? OK, I'll play along. Name something I must believe in and say why.

Reason doesn't lead to truth. Evidence does. So far there's no evidence for any god. None. Just a few books, which aren't evidence, any more than Harry Potter is evidence of witches and warlocks actually having magical powers.

  • @ChipArgyle Evidence doesn't lead to truth. You must combine evidence using reason to come to a conclusion. Two scratches on a cave wall is evidence. Clay objects with convex surfaces buried underground outside the cave is evidence. Without reason we just have two pieces of evidence and no understanding, no truth. Plus as Descartes has concluded, for you to even see evidence you must trust that your eyes are telling you the truth and there is no proof that what you see is actually there.

  • @ChipArgyle I gave you something that you must believe in, your eyesight and further more you can add all of your senses. You must believe what you sense is actually there. Otherwise life would be pointless. Why continue doing anything if the world around you doesn't exist? You can't prove that it does. I guess you could believe in nothing but then again that is still believing in something that can't be proven true. If this isn't the question you are referring to please clarify.

  • @Brett9897 You're seriously claiming that we have no evidence of the things we sense everyday? Trust me, we have sufficient evidence that the world exists, what it is made of, what scientific laws it follows. We don't believe it's there. We know it's there.

But your logic is interesting. You just stated that God, if He exists, is pointless, because He would have had to exist literally forever floating around in a dark abyss all by himself with no sensory input whatsoever.

  • @ChipArgyle My logic does not come to that conclusion. In order for my logic to come to that conclusion god would have to be an earthly consciousness. How do you know that god's world is a dark abyss? That in itself is an interesting conclusion.

This has been argued for centuries and no one has conclusively proven that we exist. Rene Descartes has come the closest, "Cogito, ergo sum". That just states that we know a consciousness exists.

  • @Brett9897 You can't even prove to me that this message you are reading from me exists. The only way you could is by gathering a bunch of people and if they also see it then you conclude that it in fact exists. However you can't even prove that they really exist. Also, if we are just allowed to use numbers to prove a point then god exists because the majority of people in the world believe that. I for one believe that my sensory perceptions exist even though it can't be proven.

  • @Brett9897 Do you make everything in your world up as you go along? It must make for an interesting life. Descartes/ the Matrix, all fun dinner conversation stuff, but nothing more than that. If you seriously doubt your corporeal existence, check yourself into an institution and quite bothering those of us who actually exist.

  • @ChipArgyle I already stated that I believe that my sensory perceptions exist even though it can't be proven. How about this, when you can prove for a fact that your sensory perceptions work correctly, I will concede that god doesn't exist. You stated earlier that there was proof but you never gave it.

Descartes is the founder of modern philosophy which is what the scientific process spawned out of so I would say his work is more than just interesting dinner conversation.

  • @Brett9897 So your god exists for the most and best part amongst those with flawed sensory perception. We have come to an agreement.

  • @ChipArgyle I never said that but you are free to believe it if you want. Not sure why you are trying to combine sensory perception and belief in god. I'm sure the science community won't back that claim up.

  • @Brett9897 >>> when you can prove for a fact that your sensory perceptions work correctly, I will concede that god doesn't exist.

A complete non-sequitir. As well as a post hoc ergo propter hoc logical fallacy.

  • @VeritasLuxMea100 The person that I wrote that too stated that science had proven that we could trust that out sensory perceptions work correctly. Yet he never gave no proof of this fact. If you don't read the whole conversation please don't jump in. It was nothing near a post hoc ergo propter hoc logical fallacy. I never stated that sensory perceptions working correctly means there is no god. I have already stated that I believe in god and that they do work.

  • @ChipArgyle Why are you so narcissistic to believe that you are deserving of a concrete revelation? If you are open minded you might see god in your every day life. Mankind has been around for 200 million years or so. For the sake of argument, let's believe, that the only people god has revealed himself to are those in the bible. With that minuscule percentage of people over the history of time, it seems reasonable that god wouldn't be directly contacting anyone at this point in time.

  • @Brett9897 Do you believe people who were raised and brought up Jewish and have never followed Christianity are going to hell?

  • @Seanjkbs No that seems ridiculous. I wouldn't even say an agnostic or atheist is going to hell. The god of the new testament seems to reveal himself as a forgiving and understanding god. I would have to believe that he is capable of understanding social factors considering he is the one that designed the system. For the most part believers and non-believers follow the teachings of Jesus in practice and therefore should have no trouble getting into heaven.

  • @Brett9897 Atheists have more evidence than religious people. And do you know how much evidence religious people have? None.

Moron. Time and time again we prove your myths wrong.

  • @TheFreebornFanatic Show me this evidence that atheists have that there is no god. There is no physical evidence for or against god. Also, how could an atheist have more evidence when all people in the scientific community share the same evidence? You have more evidence than, the big bang, string theory, evolution, etc.? What is this additional evidence that atheists have decided not to share with the rest of the world?

"You are never called upon to prove a negative."

    -Ayn Rand

You can't prove that a God doesn't exist. You can only prove that it DOES exist.
