@gilliangirl1 its the adults who are responsible for children. Children can grow and learn, where animals can not. I know that chimps can paint abstract pictures and parrots can talk. This is not anywhere near human capacity.

Animals have the right to defend themselves. Animals the right to form unions and governments to protect their own rights. But why should we have a duty to other animals. If I met a bear in the woods, she wouldn't consider my rights.

@philnoll And so by your logic, I guess you wouldn't offer rights to young children because they don't offer rights to you? You wouldn't offer rights to a person with a severe mental disability because they couldn't comprehend rights for you? Your logic is questionnable.
