Personally, I love audience participation. I mean, sure, it sucks for the person watching this video. But if you were there, in the concert, and everyone was singing alongside you, it is that much more special.
I agree, the terrible singing would throw off alot of people. I did hear a person sticking out in the audience once or twice. The reason that they stuck out was that they were properly harmonizing, which may or may not have been on purpose.
Lol, i know ben personally, he wrote this song a while ago... "I will follow you into the Dark" is a metaphor about if his girlfriend at time would have died, he would "follow her into the dark." AKA- commit suicide. And if heaven and hell decide that they are both satisfied has nothing to do with there being no heaven or hell, hes saying if they dont accept anyone else, as in, they become full.
Okay, I've paused the video at about 16 seconds. Girls are screaming my ears off. I've heard this song live and it's very good. What are the chances the video will be ruined and all I will be able to hear are those same girls singing along with every single word? Very high, if you asked me.
hahahaha this song is not about stalking...your a weird mother fucker to even get that from these lyrics. Like everyone else said, it's about loving someone forever regardless of whether or not there is a heaven. It's pretty literal, and yes it is a love song (kind of a dark love song, but a love song) I don't know what you are thinking with the "stalker" theory. Beautiful song and pretty powerful too since not too many people release songs this brutally honest about religion
does it really matter what the song means to the writer? I think that it poses differen meaning to each individual. I dont think that death cab would want you to fight over what a song means
this song is about that even if there is no heaven or hell he is prepared to go on and "follow his loved one into the dark." and simply put he is telling his love one not to worry about when she dies that she wont be alone for long, "ill be close behind" and ill be there with you even if theres nothing past life, we will be together. no stalking. just to let you know stalking is a form of over obsessive love
K, well here is how i view it. First off you all are wrong, hes basically just stating that if his significant other dies he is prepared to go w/ them, hints the begining of the song "Love of mine someday you will die" It truly is a love song of sorts, because even in death you want to be w/ the one you love.
its nuthing to cry about, well hold echother soon=agian dying i mean i listen'd to this song 4 or 5 times and i found maby 4 words that make 1 sentence sound like a stalker song but if thats what u think it is im not gonna bash u :P ur choice to think that
ummm yea pretty sure you're fucking retarded. its kind of like when someone in an old couple dies, the other usually doesn't live much longer because they've lost the will to. and the blackest of rooms doesn't have to mean anything except he's not living anymore... and he mentions not going to heaven or hell in the song 'if heaven and hell decide that they both are satisfied'
It is entirely about stalking. The lyrics: "You and me we've seen everything to see
From Bangkok to Calgary and the soles of your shoes
Are all worn down: the time for sleep is now
But it's nothing to cry about
'Cause we'll hold each other soon in the blackest of rooms" -- Its about being obsessed with a an ex girl friend and stalking her even into death. Its funny how morons think its a love song.
So how does any of that prove it's a song about stalking? I haven't really examined the lyrics closely, but I have yet to see a line that distinguishes it as a love song, or a stalker song. I don't understand how you can call so many people morons, and make such a moronic post yourself.
Well the lyrics speak for themselves. Anyone with common sense and 2nd grade literacy skills would have no trouble understanding this song. Like I said it is entirely about stalking an ex all the way to the end. Also I'd like to point out "blackest of rooms" sure dont mean heaven. Moron.
Insults won't get you're opinion across well. Yes, you're first insult was a hyperbole, but it still makes you seem like an asshole. From listening to this song it's obviously about the afterlife , and passing over with a loved one. Just because you think it's about stalking doesn't mean it is. It does sound like he is singing about an ex or former crush, but that doesn't make it a "stalker song". I guess you just like to interpret things negatively and that's why our opinions are so different.
There hasn't been a good show at ridglea theater in forever.

If he has a pair of those inner-ear monitors (which most bigger artist use these days), he can barely hear them.
