The vast majority of crime associated with drugs are from the drug war. When you make it illegal, you have a lot of bad people doing bad things to control the drugs. Look at the Mexican drug cartels. If drugs were legal, they would be safer, no drug war, cops could focus on real criminals, and we would be freer.

The issue I have is when these people's actions start to affect me. Example: spread of diseases. Condoms are not 100% because it could tear during intercourse. Another example is when they have kids with some of their clients and give up the kid to an orphanage. Now that's costing me money from my taxes

That legalisation of prostitution in the U.S. is FINALLY being openly debated is both embarrassing - why has it taken so long for Americans to be able to discuss this issue instead of hiding from it - and yet very encouraging. Perhaps Americans will now learn to grow up and develop a more mature attitude towards sex and human sexuality, and not panic at the mere mention of the word "prostitution". And maybe prostitution will be legalised throughout the U.S. Let's hope so.
