He's soooo damn great. Seen him at least live half a dozen times when I lived in Boston. Don't miss him live, if you can. He's funny, witty, deep, and one of the best liver performers I've ever seen. Chris is the man!
ahh, thanks for posting...I've loved this man ever since Mr. Cacarillo, R.I.P., was listening to him, and I somehow ended up with my friend's Dad's mix tape. Back in the day...beautiful finger picking and beautiful melancholy melodies...I'm proud to be the first to comment...I listened to that old cassette tape alot, it made a great impression on me as a teenager--one of a handful of great songwriter/performers....
Great song; great lyrics. Chris Smithers wrote THE SONG for all us girls! Bonnie Raitt does a great version, too.

Thank you, Chris. Really cool song.
Hey, I'll bet you wear out quite a few pairs of shoes. They die happy though, right?

Brilliant!! What a performer; was he born with a guitar in his hand?

Wow. Now that's how I remember it--so much better than the versions with a band on record. Thanks for posting!
