  • looks like a small modulator

  • About how old is this siren?

  • Southpark326 you don't want one of those they are crap trust me I used to have a ati and they suck balls

  • was the quadren made in the 80's?.

  • i want one

  • I heard a train too!

  • Looks like white string beans.

  • This is a rip off of the Whelen WPS 2904.

  • @Cobras7111 This was made before the WPS 2904. Get your facts straight.

  • the video is good but the tone is awefol there is no windup

  • @Frefind Soft-start-there IS a windup.

  • @amberlynn6914 if you turn the speakers up you can hear the start a bit

  • I think I can hear some 2001 Sirens

  • I think I can hear a thunderbolt

  • Is this is like a prototype of the i-Force ?

  • It's looks like a modulator to me

  • kinda looks like a few SD-10s stacked on top of each other.

  • @sirenfan97 ha! never woulda thought of that.

  • @sirenfan97

Hey Gabe, I figured out on my own that this siren doesn't even have a windup! It just activates without a windup! Some sirens will do that. Just look at those ATI sirens, some of them don't wind up, especially the ATI Soundblaster.

  • what was the problem with the Thunderbeam?

  • why Was the thunderbeam Not Made anymore?

  • @ricofojas2011 thunderbeams are still made

  • @XxjoshthedragracerxX Um, no they aren't. Federal stopped production of them in the early 90s (for a good reason).

  • @murrfarms not too familiar with the reason. i assumed it was the fact that it never really was popular (if that doesnt make sense, sorry im tired, lol)

  • @amtrak3501 They were actually pretty popular as far as sales went, but their performance left quite a lot to be desired compared to what Federal claimed they could do. That and their maintenance track record was pretty atrocious.

  • was The thunderbeam made by a.c.a.?

  • @ricofojas2011 no, that was made by Federal Signal

  • in lion park i beolive this one has been replaced by a asc i force.

  • @ricofojas2011 as in the siren itself? then no, this is still up, and the city has no intention to replace it unless it dies

  • When was this installed? My guess is late 80's

  • dang thats very heavy

  • i hope this one isnt for scarpped metal

  • @ricofojas2011 hopefully a siren enthusiast will pick it up whenever its taken out of service, since its so rare

  • yes the asc i force is better how loud is it?

  • Arw aca quadrens still being made? I was told the this one Sound the same as the aletronic i think.

  • @ricofojas2011 no they are not. the siren that replaced this series is now called the ASC I-Force. looks like a skinny modulator

  • was it loud in person?

  • @nickman888 not really, about 200 ft away from it when i shot it

  • Its an ACA Modulation Class

  • @Droideka133 were they ever voice capable?

  • @amtrak3501 Should be , any modulation comes with a mic input

  • This is the first video that I've seen of this siren. It really sounds nice and looks interesting. It's like a cross between a Modulator and an omni-directional Whelen.

  • @Ouranos94 yeah it looked interesting, larger than i thought it would be! lol

  • Never saw a siren like this before.Nice recording.

  • @mohkfry thanks, hope your able to get out soon and get a siren.

  • @amtrak3501 Know what, tomorrow's the first saturday isn't it? Il go tomorrow and re-record the wildwood 2T22. Never posted the other one because of talking and a huge glare in the video.

  • This has a very soft windup and how many of these where made and was this ACA/ASCs version of a Modulator Type Siren also i wonder did ACA/ASC try to compeat with Federal and Whelen early

  • Around 0:50 I hear a Tbolt. Is that possible?

  • When were these made? I've never heard of them before. Looks like it may have been an early version of the i-Force?

  • @Oldiesmann You are correct on the iForce assumption.

  • WOW never seen or heard of one before

  • Nice Siren...those three floodlights next to the siren are rare as well.

  • @form109 yeah they looked cool too. thanks for the comment

  • NICE! I like this one. glad you were able to make it. It looks like it starts to sway a little bit around the 20 sec. mark.

  • @ND1003 oh yeah it was swaying quite a bit today, lol

  • RARE!!!! Awesome video dude!

  • Was it loud? Doesn't really seem like it sounds loud.

  • @HystoricalMicrobe actually no it didnt seem too loud to me. the wind up was weird.

  • The mystery/unlisted siren that starts up after the 2001s is a Federal Thunderbolt 1000-T

edit: Whelens is this case could easily be mistaken for 1000Ts at a distance.

  • @djscrizzle Yep...Definitely a Thunderbolt...There's no mistaking that wind-up, except for maybe a low pitched EOWS-612, but I doubt it. It's too high for a newer Whelen, and too low for an older one. It also switches to Attack along with the 2001's.

  • @djscrizzle ok thanks. it sounded somewhat electronic to me, lol. i found an ACA RE 1600 in Rolling Meadows. whenever i can get another tuesday off, il get that one. looking at the standpipe it sits on, it replaced a thunderbolt

  • This is cool! What controller does it have?

  • @AKSoapy29 ACA's from what i saw.

  • @amtrak3501 I didn't even know ACA made electronic sirens, besides the ASC I-Force. Ill try and find some aca electronic sirens.

  • ACA made the Alertronic series sirens, which included the series 4000/8000 omnidirectional, and the 6000 rotating. Then they made this siren (Quadren), and it eventually evolved into the ASC I-Force, which rivals the WPS-2700/2800/2900 and Federal Signal Modulator sirens.

  • @AKSoapy29 i would say the same controller as the I force

  • Dude that is so awesome, it's just like an iForce with fins! Outstanding catch, so glad you were able to make it to record it!

  • @murrfarms it looked HUGE in person! glad i made it too. thanks

  • @amtrak3501 Oh yeah, that thing is massive up there lol. I can see why it was swaying in the wind, it's a really heavy siren and has plenty of nice pockets for the wind to catch!
