  • Man your awesome! Any chance of a Hendrix or a SRV cover in the future?

  • you folks nailed it,

  • Is it just me or are there two guitars in this song?

  • @TCdeG - Sure there is. I teach the second part in my new instructional video posted today. It is mixed low in the right channel. You're not hearing things! :)

  • @MyTwangyGuitar

I will definitely try to learn this.

  • As usual, awesome Sam !!!!! ;- ) from Anna

  • @MemphisMaiden - Thanks, Anna! I would *love* to collaborate with you someday!

  • @MyTwangyGuitar That would be an honour, but be warned... my guitar play is far from your level !!! ;- ) Merry Xmas from Anna

  • One request, if I may: In your lesson, please oh please tell us what kind of rig/effects you're playing through. Great vid, as always.

  • I love your videos they are awesome!

  • I love this song. It really reminds me of little Queenie, though. Not a bad thing!

  • I wanna see your face :)

  • Great song, any chance you could share a tab for it?

  • @markyshizzle A tab would be great! And i have one question. What tuneing are you using in this video? :)

  • @markyshizzle - I can do better than that. I will be posting a complete lesson on Monday!

  • @MyTwangyGuitar That is excellent news! I have been trying to learn the song for 2 years but could never find a tab :) haha

  • @markyshizzle dont depend on tabs mate :) train your ear!

  • @JoostVanKommer easier said than done haha. I can play most rhythm now pretty well but I struggle on solos and making it sound real crisp.

  • @markyshizzle I understand your problem! I had the same problem a while ago! Here are some tips: Learn scales! It's all about scales. As soons as you know the key the tune is in, you can fool around in the related scale. Most of the times, a solo is played in a relating scale. Also trying different positions for several chords can help (for example bar instead of playing an open chord) a lot of notes in a chord are used in a solo ! (this is also relatable to scales) Good Luck Mate!

  • @MyTwangyGuitar That's definitely better! :)))

  • Dude, I can tell how much fun you had doing this, pulling the neck of the guitar up out of easy view. Which is not a criticism, implied or otherwise, just an observation that it was something you don't usually do. As always, I am in awe of your contributions to youtube.

  • I love this song... I always thought it was a copy of Little Queenie by Chuck Berry... that opening and rythem is so similar. Great cover mate!!!

  • @HillbillyKat88 - You have an excellent ear! This was laid down at the same session, hence the entire sound of the track is the same. It is basically the 'Little Queenie' track with 'Run Rudolph Run' vocals.

  • Thank you all for the kind words. I have been a huge fan of Sam's ever since I found him on YouTube. Can you imagine having someone as talented as Sam as your lead guitarist????? Thanks again, Sam! What a blast!! Merry Christmas, all!

  • @shckr7 - The pleasure was all ours, Wes. I look forward to working with you again!

  • Awesome thx for the Christmas present!

  • You did it again Sam! NIce...

  • I still remember the first video of Run Rudolph Run, and I has trilled back then. But now I am over excited. That whas one hell of a performance and collaboration between guitar playing and vocals.

Ain't it a wonderfull world we are living in, being able to witness such things from people all of the world just a few mouseclicks away.

  • Johnny B. Goode??? Naw. Rudolph B. Goode.

  • Awesome as usual!

  • Great playing! Nice guitar, I just finally got a 72 thinline telecaster. I've been a strat player for so many years, the telecaster is definitely an awesome change of pace for me :)

  • CHRISTMAS BLUES! :D LOVIN' IT!

  • IT SOUNDS LIKE JOHNNY B GOODE =)

  • It's not you who's playing the guitar !

  • All of chuck's kids r out there playing his licks

  • love the collaboration Sam. I checked out Wes vids and subscribed: )Happy Holidays to you.

  • Esa guitarra suena estupenda!!

  • Would like to hear you do this with the Dave Edmunds track.

  • Awesome as always!!!

  • @jammers5 - It's a Chandler!

  • @MyTwangyGuitar wow just did some research nice guitar...but sounds like they are no longer made. (Tele style, that is!)

  • So rock & roll. Great vocals & fantastic guitar. Always love seeing a new upload from you in my sub box, its a good start to my day :D

  • @CharGuitarGirl - Likewise, Charlotte. You must be a busy girl, I haven't seen a new video in a while. The new Squier bass sounds and looks great! I now have a few Squiers myself. Take care and have a great holiday season!

  • editing failed. but you play awesome nooo way!

  • i dont see why you shouldnt be able to comment on your other vids when you always get super good feedback :)

  • great job both of you

  • Great Christmas song-----I just bot twangy s best 22 licks -----LOVE IT---laying the foundation for a rockabilly band someday!

  • Nice job

What tools/ software do you use to get the vocals and guitar recorded if each of you are in a different location? Thxz

  • @opengtuning - I don't know what Wes used but I use Reaper.

  • @opengtuning - Sam sent me an mp3 file of the tune, and I loaded it into StudioOne, by Presonus, as an audio track. I then recorded the vocals, with no effects and sent it back to Sam in mp3 format. Then Sam worked his magic and mixed it all together. It is pretty amazing, the sound he is able to get.....

  • That guitar sure looks nice, great job on the song guys!

  • Man, what's not to like about this video! Great job

  • I remember seeing this last year too, good to hear it again

  • Great! And it looks as if Sam got a new Telecaster. I like it.

  • bad ass

  • Tough looking guitar : )
