i love my brotherhood family, when my mother had her first heart attack and was in the hospital, my Vol. department and two other local departments took up a collection for me and her for whatever we needed. i love my second family.

Wheather 1,000+ miles away from home for our millitary people, or 5miles from a burning building. People who are willing to risk their lives for people they don't know, truley say something big about themselves. And set a good example. I hope someday to become a firefighter, I wanted to be in the millitary but can't because I am diabetic. Instead, I feel this would be a good way to help people out...something I have a great passion for.

I am not a firefighter myself, but I am on my way there. But if someone were to ask me what they could do to thank firefighters, I would tell them " Stop by the station and bring them some treats or something, or take your young ones over there, They enjoy every second of that. I may be wrong on this but firefighters serve their community because they love it, so love them back...All they ask for is respect, honesty, and gratitude, after all 80% of America's fire departments are volunteers.

i have only been on a department for a year so far but i love the way i feel after helping somone and i look up to all of those on new york fire departments and the other big city departments and hope that one day i could also make in a big city fire department thanks all of my brothers and sisters for working with the fire service

Both my parents are fire fighters and people think it must be cool but honestly for me its terrifyingbecasue if I lose just oneof them my heart will be broken. I am only 12 so I have a lot of my life to live and I want to live most of the being a fire fighter/ medic in the military and its not 2 b a hero its for my country and for the fallen. Fantastic and at times emotional video. Great song by Cash & Mathews. J.C. had a voice that could rattle your bones. Makes me want to relocate my drums. I'm a retired FF from Onalaska,Wisconsin. When 9/11 happened, I became a writer. My first ever poem-"Remember" - dedicated to those that fell - is in the Anthology book, "America's Heartland Remembers," along with other stories. I miss the Service and the Brotherhood. Though now I've been drawn back in as a volunteer officer with the new CERT.

My father was a cop and he almost died he got ran over by some drunk when he was in pursuit, then a friend of ours was killed this week in a fire, so stop flippin argueing all of the 3 feilds keeps this country running with out them it wouldn't beable to stand so stop it.

Not taking anything away from cops, someone has to do their job and you could not pay me enough. However, in response to the assclown that said cops deal with worse stuff than FD/EMS. As a EMT/FF I can guarentee a cop could not do what I do. I have heard it from their mouths on scene. Give credit where credit is due, but not in a cops vs fd, fd vs ems, every service for themselves sense. That is juvenile and takes away from what all of us (probally excluding your ass) do on a daily basis.

Great video and the song really hits. Johnny Cash, right? I am a firefighter for the City of Martinsburg in WV. I love my job. Firefighting is a family affair for me. I have a cousin that is a FF-Paramedic in Fairfax County Va, another in Loudoun County Va, and another cousin coming to my house on my shift. It's awsome.
