  • Good but why are the clicks so loud? Is ut the camera?

  • gey

  • Not as fast as the GTI DSG. Really looking forward to this technology developing in the next gen.

  • slap shift is funner.

  • automatic sport cars make me shake my head ........ get a manual...much funner

  • I have a question. If you pull them both at the same time, does it put it in neutral?

  • @TwinStatesBassClub Nope if pushed together it doesn't do anything different unless your timing is off and you hit down or up first then it just does what it's supposed to.

  • u handle the steering wheel like a girl

  • When shifting do you have to let go of the gas?

    Please respond, thanks.

  • @alanr1995 Nope. You can continue accelerating while using the paddle shifters. It's not like a true clutch.

  • i hate how semi autos lag. manuals are so much more fun

  • Now when you press the paddle shifter, is there a delay in the shift?

  • what model genesis do you drive? 3.8? 2.0t? or that one other model I forgot the name of w/ the stock brembo's

  • @Diamondsarekewl r-spec

  • @xkakashix12 ohh yeah! haha thank you

  • @Diamondsarekewl no problem. i'm guessing this is the 3.8 grand touring b/c it sounds like a V6

  • This is a drop dead gorgeous car. I got scared away because it's a Hyundai. I know they've become far more reliable in recent years but ended up getting a TSX. All things equal I would have gone for the GEnesis.

  • @NegativeX83 dude hyundais are solid when it comes to reliability, my 2002 tib has only had 1 major problem in all that time

  • sorry to bag you out but its a little slow for a paddle shift , but on the up side you cant miss a gear and it saves the tranny and it would be a little quiker then a stick shift and it would be smother then a stick shift if you were to try and change that quick .

I would like to see much more of this in many different new cars though .

  • imo, this is pointless, just get manual if u wanna 'shift'

  • IS this a good car? and are the paddle shift pleasing you? PLease REspond ASAP

  • @icanbeatyou97 For someone who drives in traffic a lot but wants to be able to control shifts when driving for fun this car is great. They aren't the best paddles in the world but certainly work pretty well for me.

  • wtf, are the car companys retarded, they need to change the steering,i dont want to have to turn the dam steering wheel 2 revolutions just to make a turn it should be like a half a revoulution, come on and that would really make it easy to use the paddle shifts.

  • is it full manual operation when using the paddles? or will it upshift for you when you reach redline/not let you downshift when you want etc.

  • @nickL7389 I'll try to get video of it sometime but it only upshifts you at a certain redline point if I recall correctly.

  • can it be tuned to be faster on gear when you shift? (lol) if so i need 2 know how and then i will plan on how ima buy this car... XD

  • you know this car shares the motor platform with the lancer.. but still i dont think it could keep up..

  • How can u drive a car that u shift with ur feet

  • lol this is for people who don't know how to drive a true stick shift only automatic

  • @me2me23 or people who can't get the manual cuz other people drivng the car with you is afraid of manuals... it sucks not being able to get manual for this car.

  • Seem pretty slow..

  • So how do you go from paddle shifting back to automatic?

  • @imskilled94 You slide the gear selector from "manual mode" back over to automatic.

  • doesnt look so exciting if you ask me... i prefer feeling the gear

  • before you downshift do you have to watch your speed go down first?

  • Wonder if paddle shifters shift as well as clutch manuals do, anybody knows anything about this?

  • @1Nightmare1UHQ I don't know, but I do know a lot of the higher-end sports cars like Ferrari, Porsche, and Bugatti use them.

  • @Darkstar4100

yeah, but can you drive the paddles like a 5spd? do you just dump it from neutral to swing donuts or just power brake it? im lookin at gettin one and really want the paddles, but want to be able to do the fun things a manual can, like dumpin the clutch and spinnin in as much as possible! and how do the paddles full tranny act with upgrades? to i have to change other things when i put a supercharger and what not?

  • should i get the paddles or the manual? i would love to be able to have the 5spd 'experience' but dont want to deal with a clutch. (i drive it like i stole it)

so can i still get foolish with the paddles, driftin, donuts, and what not? i have a very high hp cobra, and its built to do that. if i get the paddle shifters, what will i have to hop up when i put a supercharger on it? it will have about 4 or 5k goin into it, so shld i just get the 5spd? or r the paddles good w upgrades?

  • Paddling is for sissies. Go get a clutch and proper gearbox.

  • @mistamontiel most people dont want to do that because

    A) the clutch gets worn out

    B) if your stuck in traffic its annoying to go from 1st to 2nd all day

  • they make them in stick too (for men)

the paddle shifters are kinda fun though

  • @cchshockey4 the genesis coupes have been having many problems with 5th gear grinding and switching from 1st to 2nd gear on manual transmission. It's not because i find shifting difficult.

  • @foxblade88 that's why I buy mopar ;)

  • do you have to shift and is there a clutch?

  • @MAsoN081 no you dont, i just bought one (:

  • Steering/gauges/trim = Infiniti G35 Rip off.

  • do you release the gas when you upshift or downshift?

  • i hate when paddles follows the steering wheel

  • DO you actually push the paddles or is there a button on them becaue it doenst look like ur actually pushing the paddle.

  • more responsive than teh G37

  • does the "stick shifter" respond better than the paddles or vice versa.....or do they perform exactly the same????

  • i think that technically the stick responds better, but you can shift faster with paddles so going around corners is well, faster

  • Are the paddle shifters available with a manual transmission?

  • yes

  • cool

  • @mfreeman7821 I highly doubt it. With a manual you are physically moving parts in the transmission. With the paddles its only a computer link to the transmission, not a physical one. So it would be silly if you hit a paddle to upshift and then the stick moves itself from 1st to 2nd in the console (without you touching it). So it's either full physical link through manual or computer link through paddles/automatic/tiptronic/etc.

  • nice car

  • alright thanks man

  • when you paddle shift do u click it towards u or away from u?

  • Clicks towards you. They are very responsive and pretty fun when you want some control over shift points when not driving in fully automatic.

  • Pretty good response with shift times. I'm a little old school, preferring a manual - but hey, if it's good enough for Ferrari and Porsche, i'm sure there something to it..

    Nice post. Thx

  • and lambo..

  • What about Koenigsegg, Pagani, Ascari,Audi R8, Porsche GT3,Chevrolet Corvette and the Gumpert Apollo....They're all manuals. They're awesome.

  • uh...it changes the gear?

  • wait.. so what does it do ?

  • my sister has G-coupe and she will be jealous when it arrives in my town.. hmm ~ nice

  • So is it an automatic transmission with

    a semi automatic mode?

    Is it clutchless?

  • obviously..

  • it actually isnt obvious, it could be a dual clutch auto or a standard tourque converter auto

  • Isn't all paddle shifter clutchless?? I mean.. isn't that why they have it for? so you don't have to use the clutch.

  • pretty much except for the mercedes clk gtr or w/e it was called... that was one of the first street cars to have paddle shifters and if im right it still had a clutch

  • ooooh okay. I didn't know that. thx :)

  • It depends on the manufacturer, but gearboxes can have clutch, electronic clutch and torque converters... There are many more technologies but these three are the most popular... Even if you have flappy paddles they are conected to an electronic clutch or a torque converter (wich is only an advanced clutch a bit more techie)...

  • there are clutches inside the the gear not the clutches pedal tht u use by your foot in the manual gear

  • yes of course i know that. But ppl were asking if there is a clutch or not and someone said something weird about it so I was making a point, saying that's why you have those paddle shifters. so you don't have to worry about foot clutch

  • does it blip on downshift?

  • What exactly do you mean "blip"? Like an audible noise? If so, No.

  • by blip i meant blip the throttle, like rev matching

  • i dont think so!

  • @CFLGenesisClub he means does it blip the throttle so it downshifts more smoothly even when your foot is off the gas. i've been wondering the same thing myself. i drove an slk230 and those blip throttle so u can sit there when u slow down and keep downshifting and it feels smooth

  • @Vlican It's a torque converter automatic, can't blip the throttle because there is no clutch to disengage.

  • @Vlican of course not this car fucking blows.

  • where is the paddle shifter located?

  • uh, where all the paddle shifters are suppose to be located

  • It's mounted on the steering wheel buddy ;) See those two little things behind the wheel above the steering wheel mounted buttons.

  • ohhh thanks haha

sorry haha never seen one before :P
